Like him or loath him, seems he cannot be prosecuted no matter how many times they try. If he is ever held accountable, I would be very surprised.

In the end, even Teflon stops working.

Guilty as charged.

Trumps scared, Trump org has already been found guilty of 17 counts of tax fraud, and 1 count of abstruction of justice. special council Smith isnt messing around, he has the courts on his side, already has mountains of evidence against trump for stealing top secret documents and he hasnt even started on the 1000s of documents and those people that testified on the Jan 6 investigations. then youve got the NY AG 250million investigation for tax fraud again trump org.

Maga may cry witch hunt, but only becasue they dont realise just how much shite Trump is in.

Special council Smith has one big difference to Mueller, Smith has prosecution and indictments powers.

Maga better buckle up theres a tsunami of litigation coming and not a thing the republicans can do to stop it. LOL

Another reason for Trump to ask his supporters for a dime.

3 ( +17 / -14 )

You got my support, Trump!

The left's obsession with Trump is pathological and baffling. Haven't they got real problems to worry about, like rampant inflation, censorship, deep-seated corruption within the government and bureaucracy, warmongering in Europe, a manufactured energy crisis...the list goes on. But for them, Trump is the biggest problem of all. Yet this inquiry has turned up little of substance. Just drop it and move on.

“The central cause of January 6th was one man, former President Donald Trump, who many others followed,” reads the report. “None of the events of January 6th would have happened without him.”

That alone should preclude him from ever running for office in America ever again. If it does not, then America has no justice system, just a dysfunctional pretend system that will not hold some people to the same standards as everyone else. Trump must be put behind bars for this attack on democracy from the highest office in America. He has forever tarnished the United States of America and its reputation for justice.

The left's obsession with Trump is pathological and baffling.

Algernon, it is not "obsession" - it is following a legal trail in a case of the most serious attempt to override democracy in America since the Civil War. Already, steps have been taken to ensure that this will never happen again.

800 people were arrested on 6th January, how many was prosecuted for insurrection ? Zero !

-16 ( +5 / -21 )

Where are all the trump fanboys? Where are the MAGA men/women coming to his rescue? All those FOXNEWS watchers on JT complaining the election was rigged.

In Testimony, Hannity and Other Fox Employees Said They Doubted Trump's Fraud Claims

https://www.yahoo.com/news/testimony-hannity-other-fox-employees-131646430.html

Hannity sworm underoath:

“I did not believe it for one second.”

LOL! The "pillow guy" and trump will use this as an excuse to ask for more money to fight against the radical left-leaning FOXNEWS!

The election was almost rigged by trump and his cronies!

It's not always about a conviction, but exposing thw truth. Lots of people will be running for cover.

@elephant2000

Insurrection also falls under the same suite of federal laws as sedition, and the two can be difficult to distinguish or separate.

800 people were arrested on 6th January, how many was prosecuted for insurrection ? Zero !

Ooops!

US militia boss found guilty of sedition in Capitol insurrection

LOL! Try again!

Cassidy says her Trump-paid lawyer encouraged her to stop cooperating and said she’d be taken care of.

Rodger Stone took the 5th when asked his age.

Jenna Ellis took the 5th when asked if that was her on camera.

3-star general Flynn took the 5th when asked if he believed in a peaceful transition of power!

it is true that this neither demands DOJ action nor is the DOJ required to abide by the recommendations.

But it is also true that it paints a stunning portrait of illegal corruption and an outright effort to overthrow the government so that Cheeto Jesus could stay in power.

There is going to be a reckoning for this.

Oh yes, there WILL be a reckoning.

May God have mercy on these seditious fools, because neither Jack Smith or Garland have any to spare.

In the case of the insurrectionist in chief, it’s doubtful that even God will have mercy.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

As a proud Black American I can say, Go Trump 2024.

-24 ( +6 / -30 )

It still boggles my mind that this even happened. The party of "patriots" who apparently love American democracy allowed an insurrection to be carried out in their name.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

The left's obsession with Trump is pathological and baffling.

It’s called allegiance to the Rule of Law, Democracy and Free and Fair elections.

And it’s only baffling if you think that a bully should be able to illegally retain power to protect himself.

AND…..

This is not the domain of “the left” there are Americans from across the spectrum who watched that day in horror and disgust as I did and quietly drew a line.

The House Jan 6 committee’s final report asserts

Notice that last word? Think about what it means.

It means it is up to DoJ lawyers to file any charges and if they do, it will be up to a jury to determine guilt or innocence. Nonetheless the January 6th Committee has amassed quite a bit of damning evidence for Federal prosecutors to use if they choose to.

May God have mercy on these seditious fools, because neither Jack Smith or Garland have any to spare.

While that is certainly true they still have to convince a jury sufficiently to return a unanimous guilty verdict unless plea deals can be negotiated, which seems unlikely given the personalities involved. Nothing is ever guaranteed when one goes to trial. As a result many attorneys will counsel their clients to take a settlement or plea where the outcome is known in advance rather than go to trial where anything can happen and the outcome more difficult to predict.

As a proud Black American I can say, Go Trump 2024.

only 8% of black votes went to Trump in 2024, 90% went to Biden.

seems like your brothers/ sisters dont agree with you

A very compelling narrative that the sitting POTUS didn’t just fail to uphold his oath to defend the Constitution and to see the laws faithfully executed, he ACTIVELY plotted, organized and unsighted a (thankfully failed) coup to overthrow that very government and destroy (“Terminate” is the term he later used) the foundational document of American democracy so that he could illegally retain power.

Of all the ways I imagined him being an odious being at the start, this was not on the BINGO card. I should have listened to my own advise:

”Never assume it can’t get worse. There’s no bottom.”

He will almost certainly be indicted.

Any impartial jury will convict him in record time (the jury in the Trump org trial took less than a day to convict on all 17 counts).

He really should die in Supermax: alone, unnoticed, left to stew in his own juices both bodily and mental.

Jack Smith: American Democracy is on line 1.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Notice that last word? Think about what it means.

Jan 6 committee has no indictments powers, you know who does, special prosecutor Jack Smith, all of the Jan 6 committee evidence and testimonies are now on the way to him. better buckle up maga LOL

Everybody with an ounce of integrity already knows Trump is guilty of obstruction, conspiracy to influence an election, and witness tampering. Then there's the stolen classified and the tax fraud.

The only people attempting in vain to defend him are those that would swear he was innocent if he gunned down someone on 5th Ave like he bragged about...

Even the majority of Repub pols know he's guilty - they just don't have the guts to admit it in public on the record...

Just look at Hannity and all the other Faux News liars - they testified under oath that they thought his "rigged" rant was bogus - yet they played the MAGA crowd for fools with their on-air cheerleading...

The only certainties here are Trump going to jail and him using that to continue to fleece his flock...

Behold! The coming great abandonment!

The GQP has experienced the first cracks in the dam of the Cult of Trump. Catastrophic failure is not far off.

As the details come out. As the testimony is brought forward, all but the most delusional will abandon the Dotard.

Some because they just cannot take anymore.

More because it’s no longer in their political interest.

No matter the reason, I’ll take it.

But this is the beginning of the end of the cult of Trump, and of the “semi” fascist amalgamation of gobbledygook known as “trumpism.”

In the polls, Desantis is double figures ahead of Trump for 2024. The walls are closing in.

This panel sure looks official and important.... but is meaningless.

BTW, there is talk of Trump becoming the next Speaker of the House. That would be so interesting!

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

Even though I despise the man and what he has doing to the reputation of a once great country - he will never face trial and certainly never see the inside of a cell. I just hope that BOTH parties can present a candidate in 2024 that is relevant to modern world and the American People.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

he will never face trial and certainly never see the inside of a cell.

I wouldn’t be so sure of that, Resident.

What he did is so egregious and such an affront to the Rule of Law, accountability will demand more than a slap on the wrist and home confinement in Lardo-land.

I wouldn’t bet the farm on it, but saying it will never happen is also unwise.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

This panel sure looks official and important.... but is meaningless.

This is a misconception I encourage you to maintain as it will make your delusions easier.

While it is true that the Panel’s report Carrie’s with it no automatic legal sanction, it is incredibly influential in informing the public just how pervasive the attempt to overthrow democracy was and how high up responsibility goes. As a direct result of this committee, 2/3 of Americans polled think Trump committed a crime.

THAT is affecting change.

And it will provide additional testimony and leads for investigation that Jack Smith does not have.

But sure: keep dismissing it. Because that has worked so well thus far.

I dislike this 'useful idiot' as much as any normal person but I sense the Democrats are not heeding the warning. Making a martyr out of this WWE heel and focusing all their energy on him is allowing malignant forces, whose cover he blew, to determine the discourse.

Trump is a patsy for the same people who believed in segregation, interracial marriage and lynching. The language has changed but the vehement rejection of civil rights is still front and centre. Anti-woke, never say gay etc.

These are the same people who killed Martin Luther King and while the Democrats obsess over a fading fool they are enabling even worse people to replace him.
