Jared and Ivanka threaten lawsuit over Times Square billboards

President Donald Trump's daughter and son-in-law, both top White House aides, are threatening to sue a group of anti-Trump Republicans for posting billboard ads in New York City's Times Square linking them to the country's almost 225,000 coronavirus deaths.

A lawyer representing Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, made the threat on Friday in a letter to the Lincoln Project, calling the ads "false, malicious and defamatory" and saying they constituted "outrageous and shameful libel."

"If these billboard ads are not immediately removed, we will sue you for what will doubtless be enormous compensatory and punitive damages," Marc Kasowitz said in his letter, which the Lincoln Project posted on Twitter.

Kasowitz's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In separate posts, the Lincoln Project responded "Nuts!" and said in a statement,"The billboards will stay up."

"While we truly enjoy living rent free in their heads, their empty threats will not be taken any more seriously than we take Jared and Ivanka," the group said.

The group, which includes former campaign consultants to President George W. Bush and Senator John McCain, is the most prominent Republican-led organization opposing Trump's re-election on Nov 3. It has produced barrages of ads calling for his defeat, attacked pro-Trump Republican lawmakers and endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

One of the ads features a smiling Ivanka Trump gesturing towards text showing the number of coronavirus deaths in New York and nationwide. The other is a photo of Kushner next to a quote attributed to him last month by Vanity Fair magazine, citing an unidentified source: "(New Yorkers) are going to suffer and that's their problem."

The left are always especially keen to attack Jared because of his supposed business “cabal” connections.

"(New Yorkers) are going to suffer and that's their problem."

Jared's statement shows how callous and self-serving he and the Trump family are.

They have the best healthcare taxpayers can buy for them.

Unlike many of the 8,000,000 Americans sickened by Covid45 and the dozens of millions of Americans out of work because of Trump's failed economy.

While Jared is jetting around the world on the taxpayer's dollars expanding his and the Trump family's global businesses.

Too bad for them that, as public figures, the standard for libel & slander is much higher than it is for normal, everyday Americans. Not that Ivanka and Jared know the first damn thing about being a normal, everyday American.

Is this censorship? Which bubble is it in?

Uh-oh, Daddy’s unhealthy fixation has her knickers in a bunch.

These nasty men calling her complicit. Don’t they know she’s too stupid to be part of a conspiracy?

And every single congressman and women in Washington as well, Trump’s kids have to pay for theirs, Congress doesn’t and they have THE best healthcare on the planet. So what’s your point?

Not Trump, but the Democrat governors and mayors that refuse to reopen their states.

Apparently, you haven’t been following the Hunter Biden story, you should, it will shock you to the core. Talk about corruption at its worst.

So is this fake news or do you sometimes believe NYPost and Russia claims when it’s convenient? I’m a little confused on your stance here, maybe you could explain.

If the shoe fits, and it fits quite well in this case.

Not Trump, but the Democrat governors and mayors that refuse to reopen their states.

It’s been asked before but still...If Governors and Mayors have more power than the President, why do you need a President? He seems pretty useless.

Apparently you ignored the posters comment or didn’t read the article. You should, it’s about Jared and Ivanka.

The Lincoln Project is a group of Republicans who disagree with the liars in the Trump-ified version of the party.

They are all Republicans, so definitely not "the left".

They believe that psychopathic liars shouldn't be President, so they campaign against Trump. They are disappointed with the GOP trump butt kissers.

It’s been asked before but still...If Governors and Mayors have more power than the President, why do you need a President? He seems pretty useless.

So then why do the conservative mayors do the right thing ans reopen their States? There is a reason people are leaving these regressive blue States and moving to Texas and Florida, they want to work, keep their money and live their lives, so they do like the power and mental common sense of those governors as opposed to the Democrat ones that want to hurt Trump and use their gubernatorial powers to keep their States locked down, that’s on them.

Apparently you ignored the posters comment or didn’t read the article. You should, it’s about Jared and Ivanka.

Yes, but it must be a slow week for the liberal press to find something on them when there is a much bigger and more serious story which is by the way not going away with Biden, deflecting won’t help his campaign.

Maybe you could pay for some billboards, you know, to break the story open.

Lol, you said ‘deflecting’

I find it baffling that if Jared Kushner did not say that kind of terrible things as reported in Katherine Eban's article "That’s Their Problem”: How Jared Kushner Let the Markets Decide America’s COVID-19 Fate" (https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/09/jared-kushner-let-the-markets-decide-covid-19-fate#intcid=recommendations_vf-trending-legacy_ef028640-c8fa-44f7-a9b6-49c8345c1b0f_popular4-1), why didn't he sue the Vanity Fair soon after this article was first published on September 17, 2020?
