Yet another Bush talking tough with other people's lives.

So you're saying it's better to be like Obama, lie, talk what people want to hear, don't follow up on your rhetoric and smuse up to the media so that they'll like you

And Putin is a bully? Isn't this the same Bush that ordered his state police to stop church vans carrying black voters on the highways in Florida to keep them from voting?

Wandering through the pages of Think Progress and the Daily Kos again? Or are you referring to the New Black Panther party that were confrontational in threatening Whites with bodily physical injury? There was never any other proof that Bush was purposely trying to keep blacks from voting based on their color. come on you guys, you need to stop with trying to use the race card, NO ONE is buying it anymore.

Seems this rhetoric is a Bush family trait. I'm sure the war machine manufacturers write the Bush family speeches.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Even some Russians can't stand Putin's dictatorial ruling over Russia. It is so off the page to support Putin and Kim Jung Ung alike. Without gas and oil, Europe would dump Putin into the Black sea long ago. But for now, Putin calls the shot and scares the hell out of E.U. What a shame.

Seems this rhetoric is a Bush family trait. I'm sure the war machine manufacturers write the Bush family speeches.

Hmmm, Hilary voted for the war. One thing about her to her credit, she's pretty hawkish. So I don't the war machine trait is with the Bush family only.

Jeb Bush, the brother of former U.S. President George W Bush, hasn't paid his family debt owned by the Iraqi people.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

'Hmmm, Hilary voted for the war. One thing about her to her credit, she's pretty hawkish. So I don't the war machine trait is with the Bush family only.'

'To her credit'? Wait a minute. You agreed with me the other day that anyone who voted for the Iraq War is unfit for office. Jeb Bush said he would have authorized the Iraq invasion if he'd have been in the same position as his brother. I take it both Hilary and Jeb are unfit for office according to what you said. You need to be consistent here.

'To her credit'? Wait a minute. You agreed with me the other day that anyone who voted for the Iraq War is unfit for office.

Whoa! I never said she was fit, I'm saying, she wouldn't hesitate to take military action if necessary and Yes, I am for killing radical Jihadists.

Jeb Bush said he would have authorized the Iraq invasion if he'd have been in the same position as his brother.

He also said, he didn't understand the question, I'll give him the benefit of a doubt, because neither I or you knows what's in his heart, so don't be like other libs and go out speculating when you don't know the concrete facts. You don't know what he would do, but one thing is for sure, he left office with a high approval rating in the 80% range, so it should be noted that that he at least is a very deep thinker.

I take it both Hilary and Jeb are unfit for office according to what you said. You need to be consistent here.

As for Jeb, I am not sure about that, he might be very good for office.

If I was president of the United States,

United States has got many bush fire. No more Bush means no more fire.

I’d clearly take the advice of the commanders on the ground

Unlikely Russia will send ground force to Poland and Estonia. Commanders on the ground can not solve the every problems.

it appears that we could have a more robust response

Ask your elder brother, Did he make any robust response over Russia invasion into Georgia in 2008? Touch talks will not become the reality when you have been elected as President.

First Bush waged the Gulf war 1. Second Bush waged the Irag War. Third Bush may wage the Nuke war with Russia. Bush will transform US as Ash Tray.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

'He also said, he didn't understand the question'

It sounds like problems with the basics of the English language are chronic in that family. He screwed it up and then became evasive and slimy. I'll call this out from any politician from any side without giving any 'the benefit of the doubt'. He'll be pressed on this question again given the vague, jellyfish nonsense he came out with.

Will you stick by your statement that anyone who voted for the Iraq War or in this case would have done the same is unfit for office? Hilary is clearly in that camp, I agree. Your equivocations about Jeb are as laughable and spineless as his.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Since Jeb both understands and doesn't understand questions, and both supports and doesn't support going into Iraq, then he is looking like the best lousy candidate for the GOP in '16.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Ah, so Jeb says he'd do basically what Obama’s doing on Russia, but more “resolutely” while at the same time not being "bellicose" - and then turns around to praise Merkel, who had to be virtually dragged into the sanctions regime by Obama, for her "efforts to be clear about sanctions as it relates to Russia."

Jeb certainly has a way uttering noise completely devoid of meaning. TorafusuTorasan, I agree with you: Jeb is the best worst president that will never be.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

No more Bush means no more fire? Then the corollary must stand also - no more Hillary means no more hilarity in politics?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@DMoore, gotta remember there will always be plenty of wingnuts, carpetbaggers, tea baggers, rancher militia mobs and more to keep us entertained. Don't think the Clintons have a monopoly on it, though Bill Clinton must have a good old boy humorous streak to get paid all those millions for his speeches over the last decade and a half. Maybe he's a bit of a showman in the Reagan sense--has any former president surpassed Reagan's record speaking fee (in Japan, no less)?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"“If I was president of the United States..."

'Ahem' , If I were you, I'd give up. The last thing we need is another gurning chimp from the Bush family running the show.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I can't believe that anyone in the US would actually be stupid enough to vote for a third Bush after the lies and deciept that came out of the first two. Then again how many hundred of thousands of Americans believe that that the world begins in LA and finishes at NY. But imagine if Jec was elected, who would be the Bush puppetmaster this time. "Dirty Dick" Cheney would have to be too old this time.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I can't believe that anyone in the US would actually be stupid enough to vote for a third Bush after the lies and deciept that came out of the first two.

Then they really should hate Clinton. Also, chat does Jeb have anything to do with his brother??? We are talking about 2 completely different people. But Given Jeb's record, looks like the Libs are going to have to dig deeper than China before thy can come up with....something to make him....well, look bad.

Then again how many hundred of thousands of Americans believe that that the world begins in LA and finishes at NY.

Sadly, a lot of Americans DO believe that.

But imagine if Jec was elected, who would be the Bush puppetmaster this time. "Dirty Dick" Cheney would have to be too old this time.

Too bad!

'>Ahem' , If I were you, I'd give up. The last thing we need is another gurning chimp from the Bush family running the show.

I thought the left was a tolerant bunch, but they are the ones to hurl insults at people, how said.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

I largely support Putin, in particular his resolve in tackling Russia's demographic problem, and refusal to pander to the gay lobby. Japan could learn much here.

However, what I do question is why he needs to lock horns with the Europeans. No Wehrmacht or Grande Armee is going to invade from the West. Long term, China must be eyeing up Russia's sparsely populated Far Eastern territories, and Russia's number 1 threat is not the US, or Europe, but China.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

“Just being clear - I’m not talking about being bellicose..."

Yeah, except that you ARE being bellicose. This isn't a crowd full of Republican fools who will gobble up your words without the slightest inkling of what they mean (doesn't matter since they are meaningless anyway), so they're not going to buy into it, bush.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Akula However, what I do question is why he needs to lock horns with the Europeans. No Wehrmacht or Grande Armee is going to invade from the West.

Sorry - the things are not so simple as they look from the first sight.

When in 1991 Russian army starts come back from East Europe - the situation look perfect - it was a very long distance between Russian borders and NATO.

But then - when Czech rep Hungary and especially Poland enter NATO situation changed in bad direction.

Alliance became more close to Russian borders.

When Baltic states entered NATO situation became very dangerous - Baltic states have common border with Russia and Estonia & Latvia have territorial disputes with Russia ( it is prohibited to admit countries with territorial disputes in NATO under the statute )

NATO activity in Georgia ended in military conflict.

NATO activity in Ukraine ended in bloody civil war.

Last year we have a lot of incidents between Russian and US Navies in Black Sea..

Last year US put more troops close to Russian borders. And Russian Army has enormous quantity of military trainings.

So the war can break out any moment even without Jeb Bush.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

@Olegek"Last year we have a lot of incidents between Russian and US Navies in Black Sea."

What did US NAVY do in that remote inland sea, I wonder ?

" thought the left was a tolerant bunch, but they are the ones to hurl insults at people, how said."

Our tolerance is wearing thin.

"Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula was captured by Russian soldiers in unmarked uniforms and civilian clothes, who came to be known as “little green men” when Moscow initially denied their identity."

Damn. And no U.N. force or a coalition of the willing to kick them out.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Jeb is full of it. He has proposed no specific actions toward Russia that would differ from what Obama has done. It's just election year red meat for the same simpletons who voted for his dumb brother. There is no way he, nor G.W., nor his puppet master Dick Cheney, nor John McCain, nor Lindsey Graham, nor Ted Cruz, nor Marco 'Boy Wonder' Rubio -- name your clown -- would push for a military conflict with Russia.

Europeans don't fall for these bids "to prove his foreign policy credentials". They live next to Russia and know what real war entails, and don't even want to entertain the possibilities just for the sake of scoring political points. But for Jeb, it's about the Fox news crowd.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Serrano. "And no U.N. force or a coalition of the willing to kick them out."

LOL. You should read various political news dedicated to Crimean affairs. The vast majority of Crimeans welcomed Russians and they rather kick to water of Black Sea any "U.N. force or coalition of willing."

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Bush is trying to carve out some foreign policy street cred. With his family name, good luck with that.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

USA: 300,000,000 inhabitants and only Bush, Clinton or Kennedy for president...! What a democracy!

Jeb Bush knows nothing about anything.

How US and EU nation will react if Russian has building it military present at their backdoor?

Ukraine should be stay as neutral nation between West and Russia. Ukraine peoples are right about ousted corrupted Russian back former President Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych but they were wrong to becoming anti Russian and pro EU and US. New Ukrainian Government and leaders have missing most important thing for their nation. It's good relationship with its powerful neighbor Russia. I believe if Ukraine didn't initiate anti Russian campaign and then Russia won't be invaded Crimea.

US shouldn't forget Cuba Missile crisis in 1962 which nearly war broken out between Russia and US. If Russian didn't build up Military power in Cuba and Latin America and then there won't be sanction on Cuba by US and its alliance. The real victims were Cuban peoples. If Fidel Castro had practiced neutralism for his nation and then Cuban peoples won’t be suffered for half of century.

It doesn’t matter whether Putin was bully or not but for Ukraine Government its need to maintain good relationship with its neighbor. If you’re hostile against your super power neighbor and you will get hostile reaction from your neighbor.

EU, US and NATO can not feed whole Ukraine or defense Ukraine from Russian. So US and EU must back off if they want to see peace in Ukraine.

"There are things that we could do given the scale of our military to send a strong signal that we’re on the side of Poland and the Baltics" (article) . . . 'except my brother AWOL Bush spent Fifteen Trillion and got nothing but a permanent US police force in Iraq where Americans are universally hated, but let's not dwell on the past, as AWOL Bush said, Mission Accomplished.'

Putin did what was completely predictable.

Let AWOL Bush get wrapped up in two wars of choice for unimaginable price tags and the world can run amuck as Putin pleases. Of course, that would require a sense of personal responsibility which neither Jebby or AWOL have ever had.

Another Bush who wants to lecture the world.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Jeb is full of it. He has proposed no specific actions toward Russia that would differ from what Obama has done.

There is one huge difference. Jeb wouldn't rule out harsher sanctions or other possibly options to bring Russia to its knees. Reagan did it once and it can be done again.

It's just election year red meat for the same simpletons who voted for his dumb brother.

So because he has the last name means, he has to be in lock step in thinking and acting? You libs are funny. If he last name was Smith, you wouldn't be on a rant hating on the guy. Although, I do get an enjoyment that when a conservative gets that much vitriol and hatred from the left, it means he's doing a good job. Case in point, Jeb's speech in Germany was warmly well received, the man did get props and this coming from a country where his brother was extremely unpopular.

There is no way he, nor G.W., nor his puppet master Dick Cheney, nor John McCain, nor Lindsey Graham, nor Ted Cruz, nor Marco 'Boy Wonder' Rubio -- name your clown -- would push for a military conflict with Russia.

You don't need to push a military conflict with Russia, Reagan didn't and there are many other ways to get to Russia's core.

Europeans don't fall for these bids "to prove his foreign policy credentials".

Europeans do beg and push the US to do something every time the Do Do hits the fan and we see it once again. The problem is, now the leaders of Europe realize, Obama is not the leader they thought he would be.

They live next to Russia and know what real war entails, and don't even want to entertain the possibilities just for the sake of scoring political points. But for Jeb, it's about the Fox news crowd.

We know what real war is as well, we bailed Europe twice, fought on both the Pacific and Atlantic. We gave money (which the Europeans NEVERTHELESS turn down) and aid even when we didn't need to commit to nation rebuilding, so what in blazes are you talking about?

But for Jeb, it's about the Fox news crowd.

Not only Fox News, which has absolutely nothing to do with any of this, but whatever lol...

Democrats must be thanking their lucky stars that this intellectual will run for president.

I think the GOP are counting their lucky stars seeing the Democratic Party car. A candidate that is a habitual liar, one that is an open and committed Socialist, another who's policies had people killed and one that wants to campaign on forcing the country to adopt the metric system.

With candidates like these guys, the GOP really don't have anything to worry about.

So what has Obama been doing to help rectify this? Besides pulling out all the troops.

Putin did what was completely predictable.

Thanks and a shout out to Obama!

Let AWOL Bush get wrapped up in two wars of choice for unimaginable price tags and the world can run amuck as Putin pleases. Of course, that would require a sense of personal responsibility which neither Jebby or AWOL have ever had.

Has a Florida gov. The man has a proven record of leadership, what more do you want. Sorry, the liberal media are trying their best to discredit Jeb, it's not working, even in Germany, he didn't screw up. Kudos.

Another Bush who wants to lecture the world.

What do you think Obama was doing for the past 6 years?

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

"Jeb Bush knows nothing about anything."

Oh, so Putin isn't a bully! That's good to know!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@bass4funk "Reagan did it once and it can be done again"

Reagan did nothing, concerning to dissolution of the USSR. The Soviet Union desintegrated due to internal reasons. The popular myth that 'American forced the USSR to tear apart by low oil prices' has nothing to do with reality. Otherwise current Russian Federation would dissolve too on various republics due to western sanctions.

"to bring Russia to its knees"

History says that even Adolf Hitler was unable to do it. The USA is incomparable to NAZIs. Your government like to invade small countries but totally unable to establish law and order there. So, do not overestimate capabilities of the USA.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

bass

So what has Obama been doing to help rectify this? Besides pulling out all the troops.

Pulling out the troops was a good move and followed the eventual slightly more sound reasoning of the Bush administration in its humbled latter days. By the end of the Bush years it was pretty clear to most concerned, including the majority of the Bush admin players (excluding the hardcore neocons like Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, etc) that U.S. involvement in Iraq had been a grave mistake and that it was time to split. Therefore the SOFA, which made sense, and Obama's follow-through.

Then when the downward spiral of Iraq fell under Obama's watch, the right made this out to be Obama's debacle.

This is a pathetic, shameful line of reasoning that is indicative of the decline of America. Carried forward by those who are good at carrying forward BS.

Not only Fox News, which has absolutely nothing to do with any of this, but whatever lol...

Yeah, lol. It's so funny when tens of thousands of people die for the sake of a self-satisfying discourse that goes nowhere toward solving the problems humanity faces. Good on you, bass. Appreciate the compassion.
