Eh, it's his money - fight for whatever your good cause

Better than those ultra rich that don't do anything

He could have given 200,000 needy US kids a $50,000 scholarship and changed their lives.

Instead, he decides to fight mother nature and try to stop the weather from changing.

What a waste.

There won't be much of any system left, if people continue to dismiss climate change and its effects on the planet.

title of article. The liberal comments are that Bezos is not responsible for what his company is doing. I disagree, as he owns it.

His company is causing more than 10 billion of damage with their policies that he is responsible for relating to bringing in cheap goods from China, overpackaging, fossil fuel usage, etc.

So, in stead of admitting you were incorrect about the reply I made, you shift to another topic. As expected from Trumpophiles.

You clearly know zero about how huge corporations operate. You seem to think that Bezos has total control over Amazon, which is not the case at all because Amazon is a publicly traded company. This means the board of directors makes the decisions. The board of directors includes more than one person.

You're welcome for the basic introduction to the structure of corporate America.

10 billion for drone delivery lobbyists, licensing, regulation, enforcement, etc. Owned by Amazon.

And? Come on, give me one of your specials: a conspiracy theory.

No the topic was amazon policy which is controlled by Bezos.

Bezos is not solely responsible for the policies enacted at Amazon, so you're hypothetical is DOA.

How did conservatives cause carbon emissions from the company owned by liberal Jeff Bezos again?

Try re-reading the convo thread do you understand correctly what the reference was to. Shall I get my crayons out and draw pictures so you can see the salient point was conservatives degrading the education system?

Jeff Bezos commits $10 billion to fight climate change

Assumig this "fight climate change" is about CO2 emissions, this sounds highly ironic, seeing that Bezos whole business is unnecessarily transporting even the tiniest item by road to individual customers (with ridiculous amounts of packaging too), where in traditional business model this would just have been a trip to a shop´?

How did conservatives cause carbon emissions from the company owned by liberal Jeff Bezos again?

He was talking about the public education system in the US. That's why the rest of the post preceding what you posted reads:

$10 billion is chump change for Bezos. But good point, with the public school system in complete shambles,

Due to conservatives.

the man could completely overhaul the entire educational system,

But cool bad faith selective quoting.

More of conservatives whining for liberals to save conservatives from the problems they create.

Kust imagine what he could do if he forced sustainability standards on on products sold on Amazon

Bezos is not solely responsible for the policies enacted at Amazon, so you're hypothetical is DOA.

He owns the company and sets the business strategy does he not? he is personally responsible.

He owns a majority of the country and sets the business strategy along with the Board of Directors. You aren:t seriously trying to convince us that Bezos runs Amazon like Donny would love to run our country, are you?

> but for some of the richest people, kids are not the top priority.

For conservatives, children are nowhere near a priority unless it is to separate them from their families, hold them in cages, or brainwash them with conservative ideology.

Bezos is personally responsible for more carbon emissions than nearly any other other single person on earth.

Cite, please.

What a waste.

He could do both, and more. Bezos has the money to end world hunger overnight. But every day, he wakes up and decides not to. Climate change is real, and it is an existential threat. But 70% of climate change is done by just 100 companies, and I'll bet Amazon is one. Bezos and his fellow crimina- I mean, billionaires, should have their businesses broken up.

@Chip Star

Kust imagine what he could do if he forced sustainability standards on on products sold on Amazon and used that $10 billion to hire inspectors that could ban products that were not sustainable. But I guess he could not get a tax deduction for that and signal his virtues.

You do realize that Bezos doesn’t actually import all that crap for himself, correct?

Bezos, the world’s richest man, said in an Instagram post that he'll start giving grants this summer to scientists, activists and nonprofits working to protect the Earth.

This spring, I will be planting a dozen trees along the north side on one of my properties. Where can a get one of those Bezo's grants to cover the cost of a couple of shovels, and a rake?

He could have given 200,000 needy US kids a $50,000 scholarship and changed their lives.

Then that would be doing something extraordinarily productive.

Instead, he decides to fight mother nature and try to stop the weather from changing.

He could simply ensure that the cheap crap he imports from China is produced with non-coal power but why do that when you can pay activists?
