Money or religion....seems Dave has taken quite a few hits.

And deprive millions of bored Americans of their late-evening entertainment? Now that would really be asking for trouble!

"News" like this shouldn't even be reported, the fundies dont deserve a voice.

Tolerance through piss-taking is the anglo-saxon way.

"jihadist"

Upbringing failure?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Or maybe it's just a total failure by the individual to take responsibility for his life and his actions.

Maybe he thinks that because America frequently kills civilians in other countries, he has the right to the the same. Either way violence is wrong be it Christian or Muslim.

You see, this is why jihad will never catch on in the US: where is the RING? the PIZZAZZ? For example, if Al-Basrawi had set up a Facebook page on "The Top Ten Reasons why David Letterman's Tongue should be Cut Out:" - why, that would have caught some spark. I mean, even I could add one.

No. 10: He hasn't been funny since 1987.

Why not Leno?

Superlib:

" Money or religion....seems Dave has taken quite a few hits. "

You will find that Dave has no problem poking fun at Jews, Catholics, Mormons, Buddhists, whatever. Almost all contemporary religions do not react with death threats and murder to being made fun of.

Of course, we must not name the particular one that does.

@timeon, you have a point.

There was an article on JT yesterday about a bullet sent to a talent agency. One person posted a comment about how that should happen to the Johnny's agency. Then the next day a 50ish man was arrested for barricading himself in the Johnnys president's house. That's either a crazy coincidence or a one in a million lucky guess about what's going to be news in the next 24 hours.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

"guys, you do realize this was a comment on some Islamist forum"

News is slow today, and JT likes to throw a bone to the rabid islamophobes every once in a while. One is currently seething that the recent British riots couldn't be islamified, although he tried bless his heart.....

WEll, I guess Dave will not be telling too many more jokes about the war in the Middle East and standing behind the likes of Anderson Cooper and the rest of the media's "Arab Spring" rebellions.

We're killing late night talk show hosts in other countries? Righteous.

Seriously if they want to take out most of Hollywood I'm cool with that.

These so called 'jihadists' place their mindset similar to sickos who bungle up their lives in this country or elsewhere. They don't have any clue but spew the bile off from their guts 24 hours a day to harm anyone/anything they hate. (i.e., Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Mormons, Buddhists, moderate Muslims sympathetic to westerners, and/or those who attempt to liberate Muslim women.)

Why not close down the site and arrest the developers of it. Im realy getting sick of islamic fanatics. I spit in their faces.

So-called 'religion of peace.' Pfft.

I spit in their faces

No you don't. You post anonymously on Japan Today. Not that I blame you, but it's really not the same thing, is it...?

@tigermoth11...I guess you don't read the news about civilian(women, babies, old people) killed by bombs, drones, missiles in Libya. or Pakistan. Or Afganistan. Or how about Somalia. Oh, don't forget Yemen. I guess we forgot Iraq, oh sorry...David Letterman is an influential TV personality who can incite people to hatred. What did the innocent civilians do?

David Letterman is an influential TV personality who can incite people to hatred.

Letterman opposed the war in Iraq. i think you know next to zero about America.

i think you know next to zero about America.

I think you know zero about debate and discussion.

Letterman's stance on one single issue hardly refutes the statement that he can incite people to hatred. What you said is like saying Saddam kissed babies. Hardly changes what he did the rest of the day.

Oracle, again with the bizarre and strained comparisons

Letterman's stance on one single issue hardly refutes the statement that he can incite people to hatred. What you said is like saying Saddam kissed babies. Hardly changes what he did the rest of the day.

The rockets Palestinians fire into Israel are 'pencils', and Letterman is Saddam.

@Assago: The killing you mentioned in these places is being done by other Muslims to innocent muslims. In Libya, yes drones and bombs are falling from the air, but it is done at the request of the breakaway factions from Khadafi during their civil war. If both sides weren't fighting each other, there would be no bombing.

In Somalia, there may be a missile flown in, but most of the killing is from one faction against another. Not to mention the factions that are not letting relief supplies in for people starving from the famine.

Same inPakistan and Afg. Suicide bombers target their own fellow Muslims.

So, if anything, this guy should be saying he should be issuing a jihad against jihad.

Letterman is not Jewish.

I always assumed Letterman was of the Jewish faith, if not strictly practicing. These threats are pretty cowardly, I hope they catch the grub and lock him away for a long, long time.
