At the hearing, Chapman said he was a changed man who would welcome being released but said he didn't deserve it.

Yes, Chapman, I think you've summed it up pretty succinctly there. Particularly the 'didn't deserve it' part.

You took the life of someone who meant an enormous amount to a huge number of people, not to mention the effect on his wife, family and friends. I think you're where you belong.

The insane should be kept off the streets.
