John McCain is not perfect, but he's a man of honor. How America can vote for Trump, a man of no honor and even farther from perfect, is beyond me. And McCain is most definitely a hero, while Trump is a zero.

No doubt McCain was a tough man having lived through that, I give him deep props, but politically, the man was at best a mediocre politician and never tough on the biggest issues to conservatives.

Yes, they did, if not, then he would have NEVER achieved the presidency. I voted for McCain, but I held my nose, because I would have never voted for Obama, but at the same time, given the war and how tired people were of Bush, I knew McCain didn’t have a chance and the same people with their blatant dishonesty and hypocrisy that praise McCain are the same loons that 8 years ago called McCain every name in the book, vilified him, called him names, some of the people on this site as well. Spare me the crocodile tears. The left like that McCain trashed Trump, if McCain supported Trump the way the once popular Giuliani was, this thread comments would look very different. 100%!

How John became 'Mr POW' is an interesting case study and how he rode this rather small horse all the way to actually run for the presidency is absolutely amazing. There are much more highly decorated RPW than John.

John had terrible injuries including 2 broken arms and screwed up leg but these happened in his high speed ejection from his aircraft and did not result from mistreatment. He admitted giving information to the communists to be taken to a hospital.  Many fellow POWS say he was tortured to make the propaganda he made while others say he wasn't touched. I suspect that the POW who told the NVA he was Admiral McCain's son was John himself but I wasn't there. One thing I personally know is that he bragged to a Cuban publication about his dad outranking General Westmoreland. The interview was conducted in Spanish so who told them he spoke Spanish?  John? He treated MIA family members in a disgusting manner and that is a matter of public record. Draw your own conclusions. HE IS MY FELLOW RPW HE DIED A HORRIBLE DEATH AND I AM SORRY HE DIED.
