She talks goo much for a person pending court hearing.

She should be seen and not Heard?

APB Amber Alert to all dogcatchers. Pistol and Boo are loose, nipping at a kangaroo's heels.

But come on, ten years in prison for unregistered house pets. I missed the news that really severe crime ended.

@tora the reason Australia has one of the lowest levels of disease outbreaks in livestock and agriculture in the world is because its isolated and has some of the strictest quaranteen practices in the world, it only takes one infected imported animal to spread say foot in mouth etc and it could damage an export industry worth $billions. And its also why Australian food products are so highly prized for its quality and disease free status. why would Australia want to damage that. So yes the punishments are severe and rightly so.

“I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes, including some government officials,” the 29-year-old actress told Australia’s Channel 7.

And I guess some people completely miss the point that when you do the wrong thing you are accountable. Any idiot with 2 brain cells floating around in their head would have to think that traveling with pets to another country would likely face quarantine laws. At the very least a sensible person would check for these laws BEFORE going to that country.

In an interview last month, Heard said she and Depp planned to avoid Australia as much as possible in the future “thanks to certain politicians there.”

I'm not a fan of politicians in general so I'm not defending Barnaby Joyce but what a pretentious twat Heard is. Avoid away love, you won't be missed.

Hope that list includes judges. She talks the talk, but will she still be mugging for the cameras when reality hits? Don't summon her, put out an Interpol arrest warrant and bring her before the court shackled in chains. Do they use orange jumpsuits in QLD? I really hope the prosecutors go in hard. No fine, no slap on the wrist. Prosecute to the full extent of the law in both instances (both dogs). Something like 10 years in jail and $1 million fine would suit. They could also put her on a no fly list if and when she becomes a convicted felon.

Barnaby Joyce doesn't mince words & is a legend for it.

Forget all about the colourful language and threats, the fact is, Australia has very strict importation laws in place for a very good reason that have been in place for decades and the two dogs were brought in illegally. That is the only point to be looking at, if those dogs didn't enter illegally then there would not be any story. End of.

Aussies.....nation that cares about wrong causes.

It's a shame that if dog owners are irresponsible, their pets are the ones who pay the price.

Some people may be glad to live with Rabies, but we don't want it in Oz. Let justice take it's course!

Heard behaves a bit arrogant and or immature.

"I guess everyone tries to prolong their 15 minutes, including talentless actresses," says Everyone about Amber Heard latching her tentacles on to Johnny Depp.

“It’s time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States.” I found out what buggered means.

Wait so Johnny Depp gets in trouble before and was forced to send his dogs back home. So his wife decides to give it a second try? So is she trying to make a point, show her arrogance or just plain stupid?

"The prosecutor’s office would not answer questions about why Depp wasn’t charged,"

I was about to say good on Australia for sticking to its guns, until this statement with proves that obviously NOT everyone is treated equally under the law after all.

@DaDude... Me thinks this is the result of a single incident. You might have read it twice. Abide.

So she and Drop will avoid Australia as much as possible, does that mean he will still be shooting POTC there?

Just follow the rules and need to avoid any place.

Two issues here. One, people, who because of their money or fame (or stupidity), think they are above the law. Two, Australia (probably along with Antarctica) that is free of certain animal-borne diseases (I know rabies and I believe foot & mouth and anthrax). It has remained so by very strict control of animals and animal products that enter the country. Such diseases would probably devastate the continent's wildlife and industry if they were introduced. There are laws for everyone, not just some. She is fortunate they did not get a hold of the dogs while they were there.

Good for Australia. These laws are in place for reason, and just because you think you're special and they don't apply to you. You're wrong. I hope they set an example with Them both. And Amber, you took one for the team. If Johnny Depp was charged with a crime in Australia, he would not be able to enter Australia, and there fore unable to finish his movie.

Heard is an Ayn Rand fan.

"I've read all of her books. Ever since then, I have been obsessed with her ideals. All I've ever needed is myself."

No, you also need public health, you dope.

Some people with money are shameful.

C'mon JapanGal. It's J. Depp. He ain't all that bad. I wish him & his wife complied early on, but perhaps they're just flaunting their status as american stars. Enjoy it while u still can?

Where I live if you attempt to circumvent the local quarantine laws and get caught you can face 3 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000.00. All domestic dogs and cats are either required to undergo a 120 day quarantine upon arrival or a 120 day process prior to arrival that certifies that they are free of rabies. The only exceptions to that requirement are animals arriving from Australia, New Zealand or the British Islands, but even animals from those places are required to be certified according to a strict set of guidelines, just not as strict as other places. I live in the United States so it's not just Australia that takes its bio-security seriously. I'm sure that the local authorities would not use the colorful language that Barnaby Joyce did or publicly threaten to kill the dogs, but they would certainly make the violator's life miserable for a while

It seems that it was Amber Heard who illegally brought the dogs to Australia, and she falsified the document(s). I'll pick arrogance AND just plain stupid.

We Aussies will be very happy if she and Depp movies do not show in Australia. I never heard of her name before and don’t know she was actress. Mrs Depp thinks they should be treated difference from ordinary peoples because her husband was A list actor. She should be apologized for ignoring Australia quarantine law rather than we won't go to Australia or blah blah. I have no doubt Mrs. Depp is arrogant and she doesn't care other dogs and cats welfare. I hope Judge will fine her maximum amount punishable for her offense.
