If this were true, you wouldn’t see the photos accompanying this article.

Well, according to BLM and Antifa they constantly scream that the US is a police state.

You’re ignoring it.

Keep throwing fuel on the flames

No one is ignoring it, you can’t! So where is the unity they promised? Because so far none of it has happened, not in the US.

What a coincidence, protesters don't want the journalists there either. Since it began a few days ago, I saw CNN chased away 3-4 times.

bass: Sorry, he won’t even work with Republicans and is talking about abolishing the filibuster

The things you find relevant during a discussion of police misconduct is pretty amazing.

So, you disagree with Burning Bush that America is a police state, correct?

In what capacity? The way the liberals are running the government, it would seem so. On the streets, getting worse and who is it helping? It’s helping gun sales. That’s a fact.

Hilarious

Not for the nation.

Too bad for you that we can all see you posting history

Nothing bad about it.

Reality is that the liberal-dominated "press" is a large part of the division problem. If they were actually neutral, that would be a good start.

Too many will not let it go. A wise old saying is "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink". If people like you for example refuse to open your hearts to people of other ethnicities and other religions or no religion at all there is little the government can do. The government can legitimately protect the rights of minority groups and make acts of discrimination illegal but if individuals are intent on hating others for the color of their skin or the religion they adhere to there is nothing in any law that can compel individuals to decency. All the law can do is punish the acts of discrimination after the fact hoping the law itself serves as a deterrent. But eliminating that hate and division has to come from people's hearts. What I will say to the bigot is that you carry a burden on your soul that is killing you inside and you need to cast that off. There is no need to carry around that hate.

Jeeze. Looks like they were detaining the press, photographing them, photographing their ID (both press credentials and drivers licenses), shooting rubber bullets, using pepper spray, and arresting them.

What the heck?

Yes, yes, yes, absolute silence on acts of discrimination. Never say a murder was motivated by the murders hate for the race of his or her victim. Never mention the sorry economic and educational status of the black man and woman in the US compared to whites. Nope, not a word, it would be "divisive".

The press does not exist to feed people Pablum designed to make white people feel good about themselves. If whites are uncomfortable about the ease with which police kill blacks, including unarmed black kids, or arrest autistic black children from their 1st grade class because the kid had a melt down that is not the presses fault nor is their problem. That is your problem. Learn to deal with the truth. If you are not white and middle class or wealthier America is a tough place to live. White look down on you, revel in your misery and take every opportunity to deny you an opportunity.

So you agree with BLM and Antifa?

In too many ways the US resembles a police state. I'm white and middle class now, but wasn't always well off. For too long I was poor and know intimately and personally how the police treat the poor and people of color. Don't try denying it or minimizing it. The cops in too many cities swagger around like an occupying army unafraid to hurt or kill anyone on a whim because they know the courts will in the end protect them. The US has a Constitution that in theory is designed to protect the rights of the innocent against police abuses but too many Americans feel it is more important to catch crooks that protect the rights of the innocent and the courts are not willing to challenge this. Rather they facilitate it by letting police get off with egregious killings or innocent people.

This just makes me crazy! They do not! My brother is a cop, been with the service for over 27 years and is high ranking in his department, if you want to say, there needs to be better training I would not disagree with you, but to imply that the police are just out to kill black peoples is just on its face ludicrous

The US has a Constitution that in theory is designed to protect the rights of the innocent

Yes, but when you have liberals in many states threatening to defund the police and the police getting targeted for doing their basic job which is to uphold the law cannot perform or execute their jobs under any normal circumstances when Washington tries to dictate on a Federal level what’s in the best interest of the local community, it always varies depending on where you live and demographics, social economics etc...

Americans feel it is more important to catch crooks that protect the rights of the innocent and the courts are not willing to challenge this.

Again, Washington needs to stay out of local affairs and let the local states do what they need to do to enshrine and protect the rights and freedoms of their cities and if they don’t or won’t, they will make sure they have the means to protect them.

Rather they facilitate it by letting police get off with egregious killings or innocent people.

If the cop is in the wrong they should be prosecuted, if they are in the right, then of course they shouldn’t.
