Slow and steady wins the race. Might even calm some of the conspiracy whiners claiming election interference.

Delayed does not mean acquitted, just means 45 has to sweat a little longer.

There was no reason to delay: the election is still months away and if you can't do the time, you shouldn't do the crime.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

ROFL! I knew it. Anyway, now that this nuttiness is behind us, we can focus on the winning the election.

-12 ( +5 / -17 )

This shouldn't have been delayed, but I guess there has been a lot off pressure on Judge Merchan.

The good news is that Judge Chutkan sees no reason to have the prosecutor and defense attorneys to present evidence in the Washington election interference case.

This evidence, some of which the public has never seen, will come out in the weeks before the election.

Well no, it's not all behind Trump, evidence from the Washington election interference case will be coming out over the next few weeks.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Also there is nothing stopping Trump from running from prison. That's the secret service's problem to figure out.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Well no, it's not all behind Trump,

Yes, it is behind Trump this ELECTION year

He just goes to jail next year...

But my point being that Trump's legal woes will be in the news right up to the election.

He just goes to jail next year...

Not if he wins

-14 ( +4 / -18 )

He just goes to jail next year...

Not if he wins.

I don’t deal in hypotheticals, so I won’t use “if.”

He absolutely won’t win. The number of goobers in the gold-sneaker brigade is falling by the day.

When he becomes semiconscious on Wednesday, November 6th, he’ll be looking at a whole new panoramic view of his future lost.

Comprehension of/to the importance of a fair and impartial US Judiciary cannot be understated, if the dangers of political interference to US 2024 democratic process are so flagrant.

Thus exposed to corrupt politically motivated bias, at the whims of Manhattan Judge Juan M. Merchan, District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan.

Blatantly partisan, shameless intimidation of a republican nominees for a democrat partisan agenda.

I suggest seeking a route to future preferment.

The Supreme Court’s immunity decision reins in prosecutions of ex-presidents for official acts and restricts prosecutors in pointing to official acts as evidence that a president’s unofficial actions were illegal.

The delay is probably all for the best in the short term to avoid any more chaos close to the election.

Trump should give thanks to the two-tier justice system next time as it has shown him extraordinary leniency.

Another fine isn't going to have any effect on how people vote at this point. But the contempt of court might mean spending time in jail.

Explain clearly how the constitution was upheld in connection to this.

Bear in mind that yesterday you wanted the constitution to be amended.

I said that Silver being the liberal he is, making these predictions, there is nothing in it for him showing Trump’s lead, nothing. Not Fox News or a conservative sycophant, a hardcore liberal.

I agree. He was convicted.

Ok and?

Harris is in deep, deep trouble. Wait!! Breaking! Trump picks up another endorsement!!

And that endorsement shows how warped the US two-tiered injustice system is and how Trump is one of the foremost beneficiaries of this corrupt system that allows him to run his frauds and scams and commit felonies with impunity.

Preferment?

For Manhattan Judge Juan M. Merchan, District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan steadfast unflinching unquestioned blindly credulous pursuit of a political agenda has to be rewarded.

It is quiet right to question Judge Juan M. Merchan, District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan self interest, motivation.

Because there is no political agenda.

Only if you have evidence of such.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

I guess Trump is part of the establishment. It looks after its own.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Another fine isn't going to have any effect on how people vote at this point. But the contempt of court might mean spending time in jail.

I agree. Without his contempt, disrespect of the judge and the court itself, he would not have been looking at jail. However, for this, he must be looking at jail time.

However, if sentenced after the election if he is elected President, means that it is almost impossible for him to serve time immediately. In that case, the sentence would need to commence in January 2029 and he would go straight from the White House to jail. I'm not sure if such extended delays between conviction and commencement of sentence are possible, however. But it would send Trump crazy, which would be entertaining.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

The election won't protect him when he loses it.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Merchan’s decision continued a string of good legal fortune for Trump in the last two months. A federal case in Florida charging him with illegally hoarding classified documents was dismissed in July

Judge Aileen Cannon's dismissal is far from a blessing. The court of appeals will almost certainly reverse this decision and very likely remove Cannon from the case for her lack of impartiality and her repeated incompetent decisions.

Had she not been so stupid as to dismiss the case on spurious grounds, she could have let the case fester in pre-trial for years. But if an impartial judge is assigned to the case, Trump could go on trial in months (although obviously not if elected, as he will direct the AG to dismiss the case).

Sorry to disappoint my fellow JT readers but the latest polls (and I apologize for an inaccurate comment I posted here on JT yesterday) suggest this is an extremely close race, which means Kamala is in a very bad position;

(she can’t escape the debate, the press and Trump)—she has everything to lose in the coming months as Trump’s numbers are stagnant and not going anywhere and he still has the support of the silent majority who will vote for him;

so yes, this is good news—this politically motivated nonsense will not achieve its goals after Trump’s re–election.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Oh, sorry I forgot MAGA don't like big words and complex syntax.

What in the world are you talking about??

So, that 'two-tier' justice system Trump likes to talk about?

Yes and?

Trump is one of the foremost beneficiaries of a corrupt justice system. And that includes a majority of law enforcement and courts

No, the Supreme Court gave a spanking to Dems and their attempts to throw a monkey wrench into the system and got caught

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

That would be election interference.

Which is exactly what the Dems did, and they got checkmated by the Constitution and rule of law.

Can anyone explain how the constitution figures into this situation? The person above obviously can’t.

Well, it does when it comes to Presidential immunity. Look, I get it, it’s not a good day for the left and this sham faux witch hunt is falling apart at the seams, but I give the left for kudos for trying, quite inventive actually.

JT please some latitude, I would like elaborate, This thread content has a relevance to the historic importance November US election 2024 .

Manhattan Judge Juan M. Merchan, District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan "action" juridical process, have a direct purpose,

Kamala Harris campaign has or is close to reaching a political roadblock, to stagger stumble, a policy wasteland, seriously lacking a clear programme or timetable.

Literally turn up cackle, follow the teleprompter, wave, point, and move on.

Trump/Vance are soaking the media with some thirty or more press conference/interviews. Challenged daily.

Harris a single partisan political love fest.

Harris/Walz are in a state of preputial hermetically sealed lockdown to even the faintest media scrutiny.

To hobble the Trump campaign within the "straitjacket" of a US judicial clandestine scheme perpetrated by a pair of willing politically partisan Judge Juan M. Merchan, District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan is a opportunity worth the risks involved.

Good.

How they run their campaign is up to them. But they do have policies, and they are expounding them.

More far-right nonsense.

Having a mental breakdown while explaining something as simple as child care isn't either.

"Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down, and I was, somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that, because, look, child care is child care. It’s, couldn’t, you know, there’s something, you have to have it. In this country you have to have it."

https://www.livenowfox.com/news/trump-child-care-costs-plan-incomprehensible

Even Fox News calls it "incomprehensible".

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

Unless you're in MAGA-world, then you can "fool" some people all the time - take all their money too.

From conception, start to finish, democrat Judge Juan M. Merchan shamefully orchestrated a kangaroo illiberal fascist court process.

It sole function, a tainted jury, reminiscent to a French Revolutionary Tribunal, was to criminalize a republican opponent, to interfere with the 2024 US election.
