SuperLib - I've asked this before. The answer I got from Trump fans was that "it's just different when Trump does it." For example when he demeans a reporter (not named Acosta) and calls her stupid it's OK because Trump is fighting for working class people when he calls her stupid.

And the answer is that Trump is still a counter-puncher. Taunt him at your peril. Some media spokesmodel, or network like CNNSUX, had their feelings hurt when Trump treats them as they treat him. Life goes on.

Personally, I believe that Acosta's rude, and violent, behavior is a result of his hoping to get his own news show.

Hey CNNSUX, or MSNBC, look at how rude, and violent, the Acosta can be. The Acosta should be given his own show, and a $10 million paycheck.

Judge Timothy Kelly issued a temporary restraining order that requires the White House to restore Acosta's access until a full hearing is held, according to the network.

"I want to be very clear that I have not determined that the First Amendment was violated," he said in the Washington courtroom, adding that he based his decision on a 1977 ruling that required the White House to offer reasons for denial of press credentials and an opportunity to respond.

The judge has only issued a temporary restraining order. Temporary. If Acosta had acted in the same rude, and violent, manner in Kelly's courtroom, the judge would have had Acosta arrested for being in comtempt of court.

Trump's administration initially said Acosta was banned for inappropriately touching a White House female intern as he struggled to hold on to a microphone.

The White House cited a video that analysts said had been sped up, giving the appearance that Acosta struck the intern's arm.

Charlotte Plantive, who wrote this story, is wrong, or is being very kind to her fellow pundit Acosta. Acosta actually did hit a woman who was just doing her job. There was no, "giving the appearance that Acosta struck the intern's arm". The videos show that Acosta actually did strike the intern's arm.

Acosta is the clown here.

That’s true too.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

"Trump's poor behavior"

That's a figment of your imagination.

"Trumps behavior as president is clownish"

More like refreshingly non-politically correct.

Acosta is the clown here.

Elections for the European Parliament take place every five years. The last time was 2014, the next is next year. Things like this are trivially easy to discover if you actually check instead of taking right wing proppganda at its word.

This retort is unrelated to the question, “when did the Europeans vote for their E.U. representatives?”. Unlike in the US where all citizens have a direct vote with respect to the highest official in charge of running the federal government, European citizens do not. Not even in the vast majority of each member states themselves do all citizens vote for the person who runs the country (because of the structure of parliamentary systems). Specifically only the elected elites could have a voice in picking the EUs top dog Mr Juncker. His name did not appear on every ballot in every member state.

Trump’s poor behavior does not excuse the poor behavior of the press

So what excuses Trump's poor behavior?

One doesn’t need to look farther than than the social programming of the BBC or British TV shows.

The British press & public have knack for identifying and calling out blowhards and fakes such as Trump, which is why they've never elected such an obvious conman. Americans are much easier to lie to these days if the lies fit their 'beliefs'.

By attacking Trump, Left wing journalists make it defensible for a future Democrat president to be disrespected by a Right wing media personality.

They are welcome to attack and disrespect. True patriotism is being able to ask questions of those who are elected without fear. Trump thinks otherwise.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

@Jimizo: Surely the point is Trump as president of a proud and great country should be acting better than these childish people.

I agree completely. Trumps behavior as president is clownish. That’s nothing new - Americans knew that when he was elected. What is new is that the dominant media has damaged itself by engaging him in his antics.

Fox has forced CNN, NBC, Washington Post, NY Times, etc, to take their masks off by offering a different perspective on the news that gained them a greater share of the public’s attention than any other single outlet. That could only happen due to the old media’s failure to give the news straight and unfiltered. Acosta at CNN and their MSNBC like line up of opinion personalities have been working overtime trying to out-Fox, Fox News. All of America’s domestic media is nearly unwatchable and unreadable. Your know you are not getting the facts - you are getting a perspective.

Acosta Trump and he gave an answer. The “journalist” decided that he did not like the answer and got into an argument because he refused to accept Trump’s opinion about the caravan. Then he refused to move on when he wasn’t finished his argument. He tried to make the press conference into a debate. In the end he will not get to make press conferences into debates between himself and the president.

So it's settled. If any right-wing journlists visited Trump in the White House then you're on board with left-wing journalists joining our politicians on stage and talking down to right-wingers and their media.

No, I’m saying what are you guys complaining about? Maddow and Sharpton were deep devoted Obama lovers, fine. Hannity likes Trump fine and if they all go on stage, can’t stop it and if people don’t like it, they can always change the channel, I sure do.

Yes, partisan nonsense. Why, as a non-partisan, can’t you call out both sides?

Because the hypocrisy on the left is so out of control and I mean, really...

As a non-partisan, surely you see this?

I do, very much so.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

bass: No, but you had 2 main....reporters from msnbc openly supporting and visiting the WH

So it's settled. If any right-wing journlists visited Trump in the White House then you're on board with left-wing journalists joining our politicians on stage and talking down to right-wingers and their media.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

True. CNN hasn’t had their main ‘journalist’ on stage supporting a politician as far as I know.

No, but you had 2 main....reporters from msnbc openly supporting and visiting the WH of the last President and CNN has other serious problems they need to deal with like holding on to second place in the ratings.

Yes, partisan nonsense. Why, as a non-partisan, can’t you call out both sides?

Are you sure if one of your colleagues at the Washington Post got on stage in support of a politician while trashing other outlets, it wouldn’t be roundly and comprehensively damned? Left or right is irrelevant. As a non-partisan, surely you see this?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Wolfpack: make it defensible for a future Democrat president to be disrespected by a Right wing media personality.

I can only assume you were in a coma when Fox News regularly ran stories about Obama being a Muslim foreigner, or how every decision was due to his "ego." But hey, Acosta was rude at a press conference so that evens things out, I suppose.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

True. CNN hasn’t had their main ‘journalist’ on stage supporting a politician as far as I know.

No, but you had 2 main....reporters from msnbc openly supporting and visiting the WH of the last President and CNN has other serious problems they need to deal with like holding on to second place in the ratings.

I’m sure the idea of any of your colleagues at the Washington Post doing this would repulse a non-partisan journalist like yourself.

Not quite sure, depends.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

We in the US are still free to act as we like, not like the conditioned and programmed Europeans

Which Europeans do you mean? The Greeks? The Slovakians? The Danes? The Portuguese?

You really should learn that Europe is a continent with different cultures and histories. Crackpot conspiracy sites gibbering about tower 7 may not teach this.

I can only invite you to travel more and read more intelligent material.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Good point. CNN is part of the Punch and Judy show with Fox.

I wouldn’t say that at all actually.

True. CNN hasn’t had their main ‘journalist’ on stage supporting a politician as far as I know.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Oh my gawd.....92 comments! Wow

someones making a lot money

Surely the point is Trump as president of a proud and great country should be acting better

Acting!? I guess there’s your problem right there. We in the US are still free to act as we like, not like the conditioned and programmed Europeans. One doesn’t need to look farther than than the social programming of the BBC or British TV shows.

Hey, when did the the Europeans vote for their EU representatives?

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Good point. CNN is part of the Punch and Judy show with Fox.

I wouldn’t say that at all actually.

Surely the point is Trump as president of a proud and great country should be acting better than these childish people.

If the children need to be disciplined then he should be as loud as possible.

I’m pretty sure you and I wouldn’t behave like this.

No, but then again, I’m not the President and if I had to deal with the stuff he needs to deal with....there is that chance.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Trump’s poor behavior does not excuse the poor behavior of the press.

Good point. CNN is part of the Punch and Judy show with Fox. Neither can or should be taken seriously. These people should be on children’s TV with sock puppet frogs and giraffes.

Surely the point is Trump as president of a proud and great country should be acting better than these childish people. Instead, he out-trashes them and invites a childish trashmonger from the Punch and Judy show on stage to trash CNN.

I’m pretty sure you and I wouldn’t behave like this.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

That's not what you're whining about Acosta doing.

No, that’s exactly my point.

Or something like that. I couldn't really follow all of bass' answer.

Because you guys are so focused on your Trump anger.

The point was that Trump's rude and vulgar behavior was completely different than a regular person's rude and vulgar behavior.

Sure, not a regular person Is President. ROFL!

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

You're whining about Acosta acting like Trump. So, I ask again: What are you bitching about?

I've asked this before. The answer I got from Trump fans was that "it's just different when Trump does it." For example when he demeans a reporter (not named Acosta) and calls her stupid it's OK because Trump is fighting for working class people when he calls her stupid.

I don’t have access to the White House.

“The Republicans don’t win and that’s because of potentially illegal votes,” Trump said. “When people get in line that have absolutely no right to vote and they go around in circles. Sometimes they go to their car, put on a different hat, put on a different shirt, come in and vote again. Nobody takes anything. It’s really a disgrace what’s going on.”

(Trump quote)

Can we expect Hannity to ask Trump about this claim?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I don’t have access to the White House. My free speech is being violated.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

But the big difference is Trump can ignore him, remember Acosta wants to ask him a question and not the other way around. Lol

That's not what you're whining about Acosta doing. You're whining about Acosta acting like Trump. So, I ask again: What are you bitching about?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Just following the example set by Trump, which you love about Trump.

But the big difference is Trump can ignore him, remember Acosta wants to ask him a question and not the other way around. Lol

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Acosta an outright jerk

Just following the example set by Trump, which you love about Trump. Why all the bitching when someone else acts like Trump? It can't be respect for decorum given you praise Trump for urinating on that.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

They're going to let Jim back in, but he has to wear a hat with a propeller.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Then why didn’t the White House say that? Why did they rely on a fictional assault?

It sounds more dramatic. Trump also knows his base is too morally bankrupt to criticize the use of doctored videos from infowars.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Acosta’s pass was removed for putting his hands on the intern.

Didn't Trump's judge (the one he nominated) address this physical assault? If not then Trump does not know how to pick conservative judges well. Trump followers must think he is a very bad judge picker if this is ignored in a court of law. What did Judge Timothy Kelly say about Acosta physical assaulting the intern? Nothing? Are you serious Trump followers?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

the President doesn’t have to take his question,

I know. The press serves at the pleasure of the President. He's the boss and is beholden to no one but his base.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Acosta's removal was about one thing and one thing only -- his own boorish, out-of-turn, selfish, domineering behavior. And it was not the first time he's acted like that.

Then why didn’t the White House say that? Why did they rely on a fictional assault?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

CNN troll Trump, Trump falls into the trap, they love these headlines... It's almost like they egg him on.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Then when Trump tried to call on another reporter to ask a question, Acosta kept interrupting and butting in with a second question (the one you mentioned).

So, no, Strangerland. Your version of events is simply not the truth.

And that is a matter of fact, not opinion.

Bingo!

Well, yes, because the President doesn’t have to take his question, there are 30 others he can ask, given the fact how he can’t stand Acosta, the man will be waiting for a very loooong time to get a question now. Lol

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Acosta's removal was about one thing and one thing only -- his own boorish, out-of-turn, selfish, domineering behavior. And it was not the first time he's acted like that.

Heh, you just described Trump to a T. Face it, you're whining about the world being the world you guys have created by supporting a boorish, out-of-turn, selfish, domineering petulant little man who didn't like being asked a question he didn't like. Boo hoo.

I wish I could say I'm sorry to hear you guys are hating lying in that bed you made, but unfortunately I have a petty streak, and I'm actually loving it.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

No, that is most definitely NOT what happened. You obviously didn't watch the full video.

The doctored one? Why would I? I don't believe in fake news.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

anyway, the President has the last call

Obviously not, since Acosta has his press pass back.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Despot Donny learns the hard way that trying to muzzle the press doesn’t work in a democracy.

Also fake videos might work with his intellectually challenged supporters but facts matter in a court of law.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Exactly. He was removed because little Trumpy had a hissy fit about being asked a question that he didn't like.

My son used to do that too. But then he turned nine.

Uh....ok....anyway, the President has the last call, so I’m waiting to see if Acosta can behave himself or if Trump just leaves the podium. If that does happen, I’m sure Acosta’s colleagues will set him straight, that is if they want to get access to the President.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

This is true, we all know why Acosta’s pass was removed it wasn’t for touching the intern.

Exactly. He was removed because little Trumpy had a hissy fit about being asked a question that he didn't like.

My son used to do that too. But then he turned nine.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Funny how some pretend to be supporters of free speech by supporting Acosta's hijacking of the mic (and assault of the female staff), thus preventing other reporters from asking questions.

Where has anybody supported his hijacking of the mic?

Once again you guys are railing against the comments the boogeyman you made up said. Why do you think we care what your boogeyman is telling you? You don't think we're silly enough to believe your boogeyman, just because you guys lack the intellectual capacity to fact check the crap he's telling you?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Yeah I thought it was “super cute” guy says that I mistakenly thought, then ignores the actual issue of why does Acosta have all of these rights no one else has.

Um, read the legal judgement, by the judge, who answered that.

You act as if this hasn't already been through the courts and the information you are asking isn't readily available. That's just silly.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Instead, in seeking to explain Acosta's pass revocation

great how you bold everything but conveniently don’t bold the context. The judge actually said it was unlikely that...:: Acosta’s pass was removed for putting his hands on the intern. The context of his statement.

This is true, we all know why Acosta’s pass was removed it wasn’t for touching the intern. Touching the intern and refusing to stop talking AGAIN was just the last straw, not the reason.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

We know it's hard for you to accept Democracy

I do, now I wish the media would learn that.

when it doesn't suit you,

The only thing that doesn’t suit me is Acosta’s behavior. I’m not complaining about the other reporters, yes, some I don’t agree with their way of framing a question, but they’re not combative, Acosta an outright jerk and now that he got his hard pass back and is done with this timeout, he can go back into the WH briefings, but the President doesn’t have to entertain him at all. He can totally ignore him, now that’s not only democracy that’s also the Presidents 1st amendment right.

stop trying to pretend you support free speech and the first amendment when you state that Trump can kick him out "if he doesn't like it".

Sorry, not going to fly, I support Free speech 100%, I support Acosta’s right to his free speech as well as the Presidents? If the president doesn’t want to speak to him, that’s his right. He can always ask another CNN reporter and give the, full access. There is nothing in the constitution that says he has to speak and talk to certain reporters. So depressing and has the first amendment right to not hold a press briefing and to concluded at his place or, if he feels that he is being disrespected or the reporter is not respecting the rules of the WH.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Funny how some pretend to be supporters of free speech by supporting Acosta's hijacking of the mic (and assault of the female staff), thus preventing other reporters from asking questions.

I hope these so-called supporters of free speech are at least equally in support of Julian Assange.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Yeah I thought it was “super cute” guy says that I mistakenly thought, then ignores the actual issue of why does Acosta have all of these rights no one else has.

Such wordplay from liberals. He didn’t put hands on her, only one hand touched her. He didn’t touch her, his arm “brushed” her away, “blocked” her whatever word you want to use that means the same thing.

At least Acosta gets a fair decision and due process unlike Kavanaugh. Now Trump gets to set a process and rules and whoever doesn’t abide gets kicked out and the judge won’t be so forgiving.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

bass4funk: "It’s very simple, Acosta can get his hard pass back and attend any press briefings, but with the new rules that are currently being implemented it will hold these reporters to certain decorum and standards, even though Acosta will be rejoining the other reporters It doesn’t mean that they have to call on Acosta, they can just skip over him and go to another CNN reporter, but as Trump said, he will have zero tolerance for any outlandish behavior from Acosta, now the pressure will be on him to act like a real reporter and less obnoxious and I’m sure his colleagues will reign him if they want to called on or the President threatened to cancel right then and there any future briefings and No reporter wants that, good move on the President, while it’s good that Acosta got his hard pass back, the President will still make sure he or any other out of line reporter doesn’t think he or she will hold the briefings hostage."

That's one LOOOOONG sentence, bass. We know it's hard for you to accept Democracy when it doesn't suit you, being a Trump/dictator supporter, but stop trying to pretend you support free speech and the first amendment when you state that Trump can kick him out "if he doesn't like it".

1 ( +8 / -7 )

Okay, but that does nothing to negate the fact that Fox "News" falls all over itself to support Trump.

As well as the other networks fall for the last two Dems.

Laughable that you expect us to accept your partisan assertion that Acosta or any CNN journalist lacks ethics.

No wonder they lag in 2nd place all the time. Guess Acosta won’t be getting his own show now.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

I remember all that kicking & screaming from the dems tho. And how the mainstream media & celebs trying to influence the voters that he was in fact guilty.

Who cares? We were talking about due process for Avanetti and you tried incorrectly to claim kavanaugh got no due process. I couldn’t care less what else you have to say about kavanaugh since he is entirely irrelevant to that topic.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

thus he touched her

Fine. Didn't Judge Timothy J. Kelly address this in the court? Did he actually ignore this terrible action of Acosta assaulting this woman and he got away with it? Trump followers: Don't you consider Timothy J. Kelly

a terrible judge for ignoring this potential criminal offense? Please respond

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Laughable that you would think Accosta is ethical. Or any CNN reporter for that matter.

Laughable that you expect us to accept your partisan assertion that Acosta or any CNN journalist lacks ethics.

Deceive yourself all you want, but don't expect the rest of you to join in.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

So fair that their most high profile ‘journalist’ got on stage at a Trump rally in slavering support

I didn’t agree with it, but I do recall Maddow and Sharpton vehemently supporting and salivating over President 44

Yep. Partisanship.

I recall you and your still unnamed non-partisan historians claiming the success of president 43 despite the obvious fact that it wasn’t a successful presidency.

Was Hannity one of these non-partisan historians?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Ethical journalists would prefer conferences end early to push for freedom of the press than to sell their souls for a story. Ethical journalists that is.

Laughable that you would think Accosta is ethical. Or any CNN reporter for that matter.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

Acosta had laid hands on a White House intern

It seems the judge (nominated by Trump) ignored this information. Didn't Trump push for this to be presented in court? Trump followers: Why are you not upset at Trump for this. This is truly Trump's fault but Trump followers keeping wanting to blame President Hillary.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Um yeah, at the senate hearings. Where they listened to the evidence and decided on it. That's exactly what due process is.

Due process is a lot more than simply listening to the evidence and deciding on it. Cursory research demonstrates this.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

I didn’t agree with it, but I do recall Maddow and Sharpton vehemently supporting and salivating over President 44

Okay, but that does nothing to negate the fact that Fox "News" falls all over itself to support Trump. Let's keep the conversation relevant for once. Is that so much to ask?

4 ( +9 / -5 )

I don't see anything in there that says any specific person gets access to the White House or to any Govt official, not even the President.

Did you bother to read the caselaw spawned by the Forst Amendment? That's how you get nuance. One cannot simply read an amendment and know exactly to what it applies. This is why there are things called law schools and bar exams.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

So fair that their most high profile ‘journalist’ got on stage at a Trump rally in slavering support

I didn’t agree with it, but I do recall Maddow and Sharpton vehemently supporting and salivating over President 44

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

In the US, innocent until proven guilty. But for some reason or other, this concept didn’t really apply to Kavanaugh

That standard is applicable in a court. Keep flailing around.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

there was contact, thus he touched her. The only thing liberals want to dispute is the “speed” at which he touched her. saying if you don’t touch someone at a high rate of speed, it somehow doesn’t count as touching. But it does.

Let's see what the judge had to say about this:

*In this case, the judge observed, none of that happened. Instead, in seeking to explain Acosta's pass revocation, the White House put out a justification that the judge said is "likely untrue" — namely that Acosta had laid hands on a White House intern at the news conference when she sought to take the microphone from him.*

https://www.npr.org/2018/11/16/668359711/judge-rules-in-favor-of-cnn-temporarily-restores-correspondents-credential

But, sure, conservatives on this website know more than the judge. Next up, the conspiracy theory that this Trump appointee is a liberal lapdog. LOL! Smh.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

The only thing liberals

This is all Trump's doing. He is the one who got Judge Timothy J. Kelly the job. It's Trump's fault.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

“Where they listened to the evidence and decided on it”

Right on..... but still I remember all that kicking & screaming from the dems tho. And how the mainstream media & celebs trying to influence the voters that he was in fact guilty.

In the US, innocent until proven guilty. But for some reason or other, this concept didn’t really apply to Kavanaugh. Ohwell....... the guy is in SCOTUS now and probably has a few beers on his off time. Good enough for me.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Oh great. So Mr. Acosta was given “due process “ under the law. Does anyone remember when Kavanaugh was given his “due process “ under the law??

Um yeah, at the senate hearings. Where they listened to the evidence and decided on it. That's exactly what due process is.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Kelly, a Trump appointee to the bench

This is so nice.

When the judge is a Democrat or appointed by Democrats the "radical liberal judge" card gets played automatically these days. It doesn't even require any thought or research, just an involuntary reaction at this point.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

This judge hates Trump. Access to the White House is a privilege, not a right. The president doesn't need to give access to no damn press.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

As a reminder:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I don't see anything in there that says any specific person gets access to the White House or to any Govt official, not even the President.

The "press" is free to print whatever facts they uncover.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

“Judge orders White House to restore CNN reporter's access”

Oh great. So Mr. Acosta was given “due process “ under the law. Does anyone remember when Kavanaugh was given his “due process “ under the law?? From allegations over 30-35 years ago. Hmmm?

-Neither do I.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Serrano: He’s obnoxious all the time. He’s mostly disrespectful

Here's the disconnect again. This time it's a Trump fan criticizing someone else for being obnoxious and disrespectful. There appears to be no understanding that everyone on earth is thinking, "Sure, but you support Trump, so..."

No understanding at all.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Hopefully not much more of the court's time will be wasted protecting the soft president and his feelings.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

He’s mostly disrespectful to the president and Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I don’t think he should ever get his press pass back.

You mean he asks difficult questions instead of slobbering all over them like Fox do. 'Respect' for you means 'subservience'. Any other messages apart from 'MAGA' and 'Winning' are most uncomfortable to those who have Stockholm Syndrome. Populists and their acolytes have long since been sensitive to criticism or scrutiny, you're not new in wanting to silence people who question the lies of the like of Trump. He's lucky he doesn't have to regularly face the questions of his political peers like leaders do in most developed democracies.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I mistakenly thought ALL people would have the same rights to do their job same as Jim Acosta does?

That's correct, you mistakenly thought.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

I mistakenly thought ALL people would have the same rights to do their job same as Jim Acosta does?

Acosta is a journalist. Jones and Milo are not: they’re a lunatic and a pedophile lover, respectively.

isnt this the excuse being used FOR Acosta? That you can’t just restrict him because of what he says or how he says it?

No, because his pass wasn’t taken away for what he said or how he said it. It was taken away for an imaginary assault which never happened. Ask Serrano, he can confirm it was no assault.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

"Thoughts and prayers to the Trump Administration during this difficult time"

Sarcastic much, Crazy? As if you actually thought Acosta should get his pass back.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

This is ridiculous. The 1st Amendment does not give you right to access to the White House. Jim Acosta doesn’t ask questions he starts arguments and voices his opinions. He’s obnoxious all the time. He’s mostly disrespectful to the president and Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I don’t think he should ever get his press pass back.

-8 ( +5 / -13 )

Thoughts and prayers to the Trump Administration during this difficult time.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

American John Kerry had a young man TAZERED for daring to try and ask a 2nd question at one of his events.

Completely false, hilariously so. When the police attempted to remove the student, Kerry told them, "“That’s alright, let me answer his question”. By your logic Trump was to blame for the "assault" on the intern you've gotten yourself so fired up about. Except that Trump refused to answer any question.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I mistakenly thought ALL people would have the same rights to do their job same as Jim Acosta does? None of this 1st or 5th amendment stuff applies for them because you don’t like what they say?

isnt this the excuse being used FOR Acosta? That you can’t just restrict him because of what he says or how he says it?

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

How about Acosta himself? Good enough for you?

"I didn't put my hands on her or touch her as they're alleging. It's unfortunate the White House is saying this," Acosta said on CNN.

First of all, FNC doesn’t worship Trump, they are fair to Trump unlike the liberal networks

So fair that their most high profile ‘journalist’ got on stage at a Trump rally in slavering support.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I remember the days when last administration went to war with FNC and James Rosen, it was so bad that he found himself on the end of an audit as well as feeling justified in not calling on him for any response.

I have read some claim he ‘karate chopped’ (he he) her, others that he ‘assaulted’ her. But I have to think those who say that are just trying to inflame, further divide, trying to create wider us-them gaps.

I kinda feel sad for you that you’re so caught up in what MSM.

So they are still pushing that narrative that Acosta didn’t touch her?

In the Trumpian binary us-them world I’m assuming the ‘they’ you’re referring to are those Trump’s included in one of his enemy (real and imagined) camps. Do you have an example of someone saying Acosta 'didn’t touch' the intern?

I’ve yet to read someone say Acosta ‘didn’t touch her’. It’s pretty clear from the video there was contact.

I have read some claim he ‘karate chopped’ (he he) her, others that he ‘assaulted’ her. But I have to think those who say that are just trying to inflame, further divide, trying to create wider us-them gaps.

The one positive I’ve seen from posters upset about the contact is many who had previously crowed about assaulting women seem to have been changed by this incident, and are now upset that a woman was assaulted. Baby steps, but progress nonetheless.

I don't understand why people cheer Acosta. American John Kerry had a young man TAZERED for daring to try and ask a 2nd question at one of his events.

The guy that shouted “Don’t taze me, bro!” It became a cult classic, who could forget that?

The rest of us cant get away with what he does. We have to suffered punishment for daring to question political people, yet he can be as rude as he likes because he works for a company worth billions of dollars.

Pretty much, sad to say.

Parents have been thrown out/arrested of/at school meetings for asking a question the hadn't written down or for demanding a better answer from the school staff.

there was contact, thus he touched her. The only thing liberals want to dispute is the “speed” at which he touched her. saying if you don’t touch someone at a high rate of speed, it somehow doesn’t count as touching. But it does.

Its ok Acosta has a new seat from Monday. Sitting between Alex Jones and Milo Yiannapolous. Right behind Julian Assange. Everybody has a “right” to a pass, no?

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

So they are still pushing that narrative that Acosta didn’t touch her

So you’re still pushing the fake news video of trumps that was doctored to make it look like he did?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Fake President loses to Real Reporter!

No, because he just got his hard pass reinstated that’s all, now whether Trump calls on him or not is an entirely different story. He might choose not to, so you will have a standing Jim Acosta with the Presidents ignoring him. Gosh, even msnbc must feel lucky at this point.

It's not a victory for CNN

Exactly!

It's a victory for the freedom of speech, victory for constitution, individual rights, laws of the US of A!

Funny, no other reporter has had these problems like Acosta, so what are you talking about exactly?

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

So they are still pushing that narrative that Acosta didn’t touch her? There was no “appearance” that he touched her, he actually did.

Thats fine, he can come back but his behavior has been documented and if it happens again he wouldnt he as fortunate to get a fair decision from the judge.

giving the appearance that Acosta struck the intern's arm.

Fake President loses to Real Reporter!

It's not a victory for CNN, or any news organization for that matter.

It's a victory for the freedom of speech, victory for constitution, individual rights, laws of the US of A!

No reporter wants that.

Ethical journalists would prefer conferences end early to push for freedom of the press than to sell their souls for a story. Ethical journalists that is.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Trump illegally withdrew his pass and now his big plan is not to call on Acosta? Then why did the White House lie about a fictional assault using doctored footage to illegally withdraw a pass when he could have just not called on him in the first place?

Just face it, President Fatty humiliated himself. Again.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

All of the media needs those press meetings, but the a Trump administration doesn’t need them.

The reality TV star president craves coverage more than anything.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

Sure was! That judge spit right in Trump's face. He must be raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaging.

Don't think so, as he said today, he doesn’t have to call on him and if he gets obnoxious, he’ll just end the briefings, No reporter wants that. So Acosta can be respectful and ask his question or he can be a brat and have Trump walk out in a flash, then Acosta and the reporters get nothing. Seems reasonable, Acosta got what he wanted and Trump will get what he wants.

As a journalist, do you agree with those who say Trump purposely called on Acosta, that Trump planned to verbally spar with him as a way to once again create an enemy (the 'media' in general plus CNN,

No, I don’t buy that. Trump can’t stand the man, but is always willing to give a person the benefit of a doubt. Acosta squandered that chance. And remember, Trump can kick him out again, it’s not like the judge can force him to take him back in, so Acosta doesn’t control the narrative.

an outlet that doesn't worship him like Fox 'news',

First of all, FNC doesn’t worship Trump, they are fair to Trump unlike the liberal networks that will not under any circumstance give the President credit for anything, there is nothing wrong a more conservative network liking the President. CNN loved Hillary and msnbc admired Obama.

RT

RT? As to how that network ever is allowed in the US is beyond me, but then again many things are.

and other far right outlets do) for

No different from the left leaning sites that love Obama, Hillary or the left. I fail to see what you want to say.

Trump's followers to get angry about, thereby creating another distraction from all the messes Trump, his White House and his family have been involved in?

What?

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

@bas4  It doesn’t mean that they have to call on Acosta,

Brilliant move.

Sure was! That judge spit right in Trump's face. He must be raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaging.

6 ( +15 / -9 )

It’s very simple, Acosta can get his hard pass back and attend any press briefings, but with the new rules that are currently being implemented it will hold these reporters to certain decorum and standards, even though Acosta will be rejoining the other reporters It doesn’t mean that they have to call on Acosta, they can just skip over him and go to another CNN reporter, but as Trump said, he will have zero tolerance for any outlandish behavior from Acosta, now the pressure will be on him to act like a real reporter and less obnoxious and I’m sure his colleagues will reign him if they want to called on or the President threatened to cancel right then and there any future briefings and No reporter wants that, good move on the President, while it’s good that Acosta got his hard pass back, the President will still make sure he or any other out of line reporter doesn’t think he or she will hold the briefings hostage.

Brilliant move.

-15 ( +6 / -21 )

@buringbush keep his hands to himself.

@cla68 man handle a female i

You must be referring to the Potemkin-ish 'karate chop' some see in the doctored tape, i.e. in yet more fake news from the White House. Goebbels and Stalin would have approved of the tape. Make Orwell fiction again: 8645.

12 ( +17 / -5 )

If the White House can make its own rules then they can schedule press conferences once or twice a week or month.

They already are held at the convenience of the White House.

https://www.npr.org/2018/10/11/656661343/no-longer-daily-white-house-press-briefings-fade-as-trump-does-the-talking

In fact, according to a Politico story, in July the White House held a total of 56 minutes of press briefings.

Now, if you mean Presidential press conferences, Donald Trump held 1 (One) his first year in office. This in comparison to 7 from Obama, and 4 from GWB.

The simple fact is that already this White House has shown a propensity to hide from all but the most sycophantic of press (AKA Fox N' Friends), or to just Tweet Storm at 3 in the morning.

In other words... this White House is cowardly.

12 ( +18 / -6 )

While Acosta was unprofessional, Trump had to be told by a Federal judge that he cannot violate constitutional rights nor the laws which uphold them! This has been the issue with Trump and his looney bin followers since the beginning.

3 ( +14 / -11 )

Welcome back Mr. Acosta.

Weird there trumpets here are up in arms about an assault that never happened.

12 ( +22 / -10 )

Oh, and, uh, about the lies about Accosta

Everyone knows that KellyAnne Conway admitted they doctored the video -- 'sped up" -- and everyone knows they doctored it to make it seem like Accosta pushed the interns hand away.

Everyone.

That included all those here who are knowingly lying about it.

That is the kind of people they are.

No honor. No shame. And they are getting worse.

21 ( +30 / -9 )

he judge said while explaining his decision that he believes that CNN and Acosta are likely to prevail in the case overall.

I wonder if the White House will even continue wasting money on this fight?.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

The judge said Acosta needs “due process “. Ok, let him explain why he thought he could man handle a female intern and then take his pass away.

-20 ( +9 / -29 )

Weird. If I acted like that at my job, I would be fired.

-12 ( +13 / -25 )

This PROUD Aussie thinks CNN has been led into a TRAP ! If the White House can make its own rules then they can schedule press conferences once or twice a week or month. That will DAMAGE CNN ratings terribly. They make a lot of money because of Trump. All of the media needs those press meetings, but the a Trump administration doesn’t need them.

Acosta is going o be as popular as Avante when the smoke clears!
