Justice!

37 ( +50 / -13 )

Say it with me:

Convicted felon Trump!

38 ( +52 / -14 )

The two-tier justice system will probably save Trump from jail.

I wonder if he's still allowed to vote in Florida, now that he is a criminal.

32 ( +36 / -4 )

So if Trump wins in November, he will become the first convicted felon elected president.

44 ( +47 / -3 )

stormcrow

So if Trump wins in November, he will become the first convicted felon elected president.

Pretty unlike now. Who is going to elect a criminal to president?

20 ( +28 / -8 )

Only in this age will this be a surprise. The guy is damn guilty.

31 ( +35 / -4 )

Great and now the appeals process starts, this helps Trump. Turley said, everyone seemed tense in the courtroom and Trump was relaxed and smiling. Too funny? Lol

-39 ( +10 / -49 )

Good news!  And, of course, a series body blow to his chances this fall.

A felony is as real as it gets.

As for those among poo-pooing how important this is: Don't believe it.

They know how important this is. The only things they believe in is power, the power to compel others to their will. That is the language they understand. That is the language they really appreciate. The power to force others to your will.

Well, this guilty verdict is proof positive that Trump is weak. That we the socialist communist leftist fascsist mob beat their boy.

And they know it.

26 ( +30 / -4 )

The 12-member jury announced it had found Trump guilty on all 34 counts he faced. Unanimity was required for any verdict.

All 34, UNANIMOUS! Given how the previous guy, others in the far right, plus 'elite establishment groups like the Federalist Society' have bent and manipulated the courts to protect members like x-45 and others, to continue the two-tier justice system that had been so beneficial to Trump for so long, I had been losing trust in the US judicial system, but this verdict has restored some; now I worry corrupt members of the Supreme Court will come to the aid of the convcted felon. It will be interesting to read the conspiracy theories and lies coming from US rightists and their fellow anti-Americans around the globe. I just hope the various US thug groups backing the GOP will keep their guns at home and not cause any more damage anywhere. Time to move on and leave the Trump stench far behind. Keep the republic intact, and maintain the Constitution.

20 ( +25 / -5 )

Lock him up!

34 ( +42 / -8 )

No surprise

And he will probably still be elected president

-10 ( +17 / -27 )

So if Trump wins in November, he will become the first convicted felon elected president.

And that’s ok. The left can cling to the words, I would rather cling to his Presidency. This helps Trump’s popularity, now they made him a political martyr and this helps energize his base as well as many minorities that this administration continues to bleed and ignore.

Lock him up!

That won’t happen

-38 ( +7 / -45 )

Great and now the appeals process starts, this helps Trump.

Only in the fever dream of the cult dies being a convicted felon help a political figure.

21 ( +27 / -6 )

No he a felon and lose his rights to vote and bear arms

Great and now the appeals process starts, this helps Trump.

Yeah, yeah. Whatever. That's years away.

24 ( +27 / -3 )

Trump has no grounds for appeal which wouldn't happen until after the November elections. Can a convicted felon vote?

21 ( +24 / -3 )

I knew Trump ought to be remembered for something. I just didn't know it would be for being the first convicted felon/former president.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

He faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison, though others convicted of that crime often receive shorter sentences, fines or probation. Incarceration would not prevent him from campaigning, or taking office if he were to win.

Trump was already going to go down as one of the worst US presidents in history alongside Bush and Hoover for distorting the economy and making it more unequal and losing the popular vote.

Now he can add convicted felon to that.

Nov 5: in a shocking development, Convicted felon Donald Trump has just been re-elected as the 47th President of the United States of America!

Resorting to wish fulfillment fantasy already? Don't worry, for what its worth he is still in the race.

just shows America that Democrats aren’t sad and incompetent as thought, but actually purposefully evil.

I think the same think about the corporate oligarch supported authoritarian lovers in the GQP.

Am I doing it right?

20 ( +22 / -2 )

The American political system seems to be self destructing in real time.

-12 ( +9 / -21 )

Mr Goodman

No surprise

And he will probably still be elected president

Not now he won't!

13 ( +17 / -4 )

Constitutionally it might go in the martyrs favor.

It will be interesting to read the conspiracy theories and lies coming from US rightists and their fellow anti-Americans around the globe.

or the lefts

I just hope the various US thug groups backing the GOP will keep their guns at home and not cause any more damage anywhere.

Why, we’re not liberals, you’re not going to see rioting and looting. Don’t worry.

Time to move on and leave the Trump stench far behind.

Yeah, you don’t get to decide that for half the nation.

Keep the republic intact, and maintain the Constitution.

Remove Biden, and the swamp, I agree.

-24 ( +5 / -29 )

Golly gee. Look what happens when non-Trump appointed judges allow his cases to go to trial…

23 ( +25 / -2 )

just shows America that Democrats aren’t sad and incompetent as thought, but actually purposefully evil.

Wompity Womp-Womp.

Donald Trump was given due process, had the best attorney he could get, was given a trial at which his attorneys were allowed to question witnesses and present a defense.

And a jury of 12 jurors whose political views you don’t know found him to be unanimously guilty on all charges.

And the evidence of his guilt was so overwhelming that it took all of 2 days.

Condolences.

25 ( +27 / -2 )

Not now he won't!

Yes, he can and will run, he’s not going to prison. The Dems know that already

-27 ( +4 / -31 )

After years of jerking around, now our country has an expiration date.

Calm down. Relax. The country is just fine.

Nov 5th: good vs evil the final battle at the ballot box. Winner take all.

Good will prevail and Biden will win.

the Trump donation site just crashed due to traffic.

Hahahahahaha. His presidency attempt just crashed too.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

Nov 5th: good vs evil the final battle at the ballot box. Winner take all.

More apocalyptic talk from the nihilistic cult of Donald J. Trump, convicted felon.

13 ( +15 / -2 )

The premature celebrations of paid leftists on Twitter/X are hilarious.

will be spending most of the day there in full support of Convicted Felon Donald Trump.

all that remains is for a court to acquit Hunter on all counts and the final game is all set.

boomerang coming.

-29 ( +3 / -32 )

the Trump donation site just crashed due to traffic.

Just like his political career and all his failing businesses! LOL.

The American political system seems to be self destructing in real time.

This has nothing to do with the American political system. It's the justice system. Try to keep up.

18 ( +19 / -1 )

The left can cling to the words, I would rather cling to his Presidency.

It's not just words. It's real. Trump is officially a criminal.

This helps Trump’s popularity,

For people who are deep into the cult. The non-cultist Republicans will have second thoughts about voting for a certified CROOK.

19 ( +20 / -1 )

@Strangerland

Nobody gets locked up for a victimless crime.

-23 ( +0 / -23 )

The premature celebrations of paid leftists on Twitter/X are hilarious.

Did you not see? He's a convicted felon now. Nothing premature about celebrating his being held accountable for being a criminal.

And why would anyone pay leftists to post on Twitter, when there are millions willing to do it for free?

17 ( +18 / -1 )

MAGA, your boy took one helluva beating, now you spin to say “you knew” and it was “predetermined”? LMAO! Delusional.

It’s OFFICIAL. Trump is a convicted criminal. X34 UNANIMOUS.

How’s that for Democracy and Justice?

12 ( +13 / -1 )

bass4funk

Not now he won't!

Yes, he can and will run, he’s not going to prison.

He can run, but there's no way he will win.

And sure the two-tier justice system will keep him out of prison.

Nobody gets locked up for a victimless crime.

The crimes he committed weren't victimless.

14 ( +16 / -2 )

Only in the fever dream of the cult dies being a convicted felon help a political figure.

But it has. It will.

Trump has no grounds for appeal which wouldn't happen until after the November elections. Can a convicted felon vote?

Yes, he can, they can’t stop him, they know they can’t, calm down, breathe.

-21 ( +1 / -22 )

Nobody gets locked up for a victimless crime.

They do all the time, and this is not a victimless crime.

With 4 years of Trump from 2016, the US was the victim.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Great and now the appeals process starts, this helps Trump.

Will he be able to stay awake for that?

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Nobody gets locked up for a victimless crime.

Huh? There are literally millions of people in jail in America for victimless crimes.

Lock him up! Lock him up!

16 ( +17 / -1 )

@2020hindsights

It is the political system . Just witness the nasty name calling on here; not name calling of Trump mind you, name calling of people with different political opinions. 40% will believe that it was justice and 50% will think it was lawfair. The 10 % in the middle will be called nasty names by both sides.

-16 ( +0 / -16 )

It's not just words. It's real. Trump is officially a criminal.

Like that makes a difference, the Dems have been thinking that since 2016

For people who are deep into the cult.

Yup!!

The non-cultist Republicans will have second thoughts about voting for a certified CROOK.

Well, yes they will. Careful what you wish for.

@Strangerland

Thank you for giving a perfect example of name calling.

-15 ( +1 / -16 )

Let's all take a moment remember, the felony Trump is guilty of is election interference. Aren't the extremists always going on about election integrity? Their defense of the Election Interferer in Chief in supporting his election interference is just another on the list of right-wing hypocrisies.

17 ( +18 / -1 )

Careful what you wish for.

Heh, I think we're all quite happy with what we wished for.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

I never said anything about you one way or the other.

Thank you for giving a perfect example of name calling.

If there's one thing Trump fans won't stand for, it's name calling. ;)

16 ( +18 / -2 )

Trump will be ineligible to vote for himself this November. Felons in Florida lose their voting rights.

Sorry, Don. Your party made that law.

Looks like St. Elon’s super-duper voter fraud analysis algorithm will finally have something to analyze!

Actual impactful election interference by Trump!

And now there are felony convictions to back it up.

Trump will be ineligible to vote for himself this November. Felons in Florida lose their voting rights.

Not in this case - Florida goes by the laws of the state that sentenced the felon, and NY rules are that only imprisoned felons are unable to vote. He won't be in prison in November, so he'll be able to vote.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

A rare moment in American history.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

If a convicted conman had such a hold over me, I'd question myself.

just an entire appeals process.

and an upcoming election that makes the whole thing meaningless when he wins.

-18 ( +2 / -20 )

A rare moment in American history.

It's both a sad, yet good day for America. Sad that they elected a guy to office who only got there through election interference, but good that the legal system eventually held him accountable.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

And now there are felony convictions to back it up.

That will be challenged and appealed most likely

-21 ( +1 / -22 )

That will be challenged and appealed most likely

Not by the election!

On election day, anyone voting for Trump will be voting for a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist.

You can bet the dems are gonna keep reminding the people of that until November.

Oh yeah, and abortion.

Heh, the entire time of which he is a convicted felon! The justice department should stall and stall and stall. Likely he'll die of old age before the appeals ever see their way through the system, and he'll die a felon. Appeals are cancelled upon death.

Or are we supposed to forget he was just found guilty in a court of law after all the facts were presented and he was allowed all the rights of the Central Park 5?

10 ( +10 / -0 )

@2020hindsights

”Pretty unlikely now.”

What if Trump does win?

What would that say about the state of the nation?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

As a candidate for federal office, Trump is restricted only by requirements in the U.S. Constitution. Those requirements are straightforward: The president must be at least 35 years old, must be a natural-born U.S. citizen and must have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years. There’s nothing on criminal convictions.

Trump goes into the elections as a convicted felon.

Cool!

first time, white collar felons rarely serve prison time. he’ll be fined. the sentence might be some short duration of part time home custody and some community service, since he’s contrite and unapologetic about his guilt.

here’s where his attacks on the judge, prosecutors and the legal process will hurt him. the judge has wide latitude and having trump pick up litter for 10 days might put him in his place. it’s never smart to try to screw with a judge.

trump can vote in florida if he apples for return of voting rights after competing all sentencing requirements, including payment of fines and completion of court ordered remedies.

trump continues his unblemished record of guilty verdicts.

the real likelihood of prison is from the classified documents case. if he loses the election, the overwhelming evidence will see him found guilty and there is no escaping prison.

and that could be a years long prison sentence. wouldn’t that be something? no escaping that if he loses, regardless of judge cannon’s blatant bias and maneuvering for trump.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Nothing will change, Mr. TEFLON will carry on like all other millionaires where $$ talks.

There is no denying that he has been the benefactor of a two-tiered system. Any other criminal would have been thrown in jail for the gag order violations.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Probation will restrict his movements.

They can’t stop him from campaigning, not going to happen, and he’s not going anywhere other than campaigning in battleground and now even in blue states.

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

The Biden-Harris campaign released a statement on Trump's verdict.

“In New York today, we saw that no one is above the law.

Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his own personal gain. But today’s verdict does not change the fact that the American people face a simple reality. There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box. Convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president.

“The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater. He is running an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retribution, pledging to be a dictator ‘on day one’ and calling for our Constitution to be ‘terminated’ so he can regain and keep power. A second Trump term means chaos, ripping away Americans’ freedoms and fomenting political violence – and the American people will reject it this November.”

8 ( +10 / -2 )

There will be no more trials until after the elections.

What a great way to wake up this morning. Knowing that this charlatan is a convicted felon; a verdict reached by a jury of his peers.

Of course his MAGA lunatic worshippers with be triggered with the old Biden political stitch up conspiracy theory, but they still believe the earth is flat & that bleach cures covid.

Martyr? For whom was the convicted felon/sexual predator a 'martyr'. Did he take those top secret documents for 'the people', did he interfere in an election for the people, did he have an affair with a porn star for them, did he falsify records for them, did he spend more time in office playing golf on the taxpayer's dollars for the people? But I expect the word 'martyr' to be use by those guidd by feels, and those that believe myths are real, i.e those people said to not be reasonable, aand freely admit to being cultists.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Yeah, that’s just not going to happen.

Well, you said he would never be convicted. And back in the day, before his election interference, you said he wouldn't even win. Clearly you're not so good with the prediction game.

Who knows, Johnathan Turley was in the courtroom and said, Trump seemed the calmest out of everyone, oh, I’m sure he’s angry, but he’s not going to give the left that satisfaction, controlled and measured, he’ll just move on and focus on the General Election

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

Lol

7 ( +8 / -1 )

So I look at it in a very positive light. Lol

Just think how ecstatic you'll be when he gets convicted for his other crimes.

Maybe you can give him some tips on dealing with being incarcerated.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Adjudicated rapist.

Adjudicated Fraudster.

And now a convicted felon.

Yeah, we’re not electing that guy.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

he’s not going to give the left that satisfaction, controlled and measured, he’ll just move on and focus on the General Election

Oh there's a Tweetstorm coming once he gets home you can be sure. He already had a temper tantrum outside the court rambling on about a rigged trial.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Trump seemed the calmest out of everyone

Is that your way of saying that he was asleep again?

2020hindsights, my humble opinion, for what is is worth,

Ok, sure.

I base my opinions on facts.

the ballot box always has the final word.

Well, now you are talking about politics, which is a completely different thing to justice.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

What if I don't like the other guy either?

Yeah, we’re not electing that guy.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

One doesn't have to share support or even have any political affiliations to Trump or his party.

Very disappointed, sad to see such a open and blatant travesty of justice, to abuse US justice system in a shameful attempt to remove a candidate from the democratic process is a dangerous first.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

What if I don't like the other guy either?

Bad luck for you in a two-party system.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Just think how ecstatic you'll be when he gets convicted for his other crimes.

Well, those trials won’t happen this year, if he gets reelected, then it will never happen.

Maybe you can give him some tips on dealing with being incarcerated.

Yes, let the Dems do what they do, they don’t have a bucket to throw a fish in, let them campaign on abortion and Trump to continue to raise money and siphon off as many minorities as you can and focus on crime, the border, illegals, fossil fuels and supporting our police. Don’t focus on the left, let them call you whatever and just continue to campaign.

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

The only way Joe stands a chance is with Trump behind bars. America must be ashamed that the only choice they have is between these two rotters.

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

Own goal by the Democrats. They've just handed him victory on a silver plate.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

Well, those trials won’t happen this year, if he gets reelected, then it will never happen.

Georgia is a state case. He can't make that one go away.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Own goal by the Democrats. They've just handed him victory on a silver plate.

Is this like that time you guys said that the Democrats scored an own-goal by choosing Biden as their candidate, handing Trump a second term on a silver plate?

That one didn't age well. Maybe you'll have better luck this time.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

take it to the ballot box

But that’s rigged too. Everything is “rigged” unless Mr. Trump gets his win.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Bad luck for you in a two-party system.

Thank God for the Supreme Court.

Is this like that time you guys said that the Democrats scored an own-goal by choosing Biden as their candidate, handing Trump a second term on a silver plate?

That one didn't age well. Maybe you'll have better luck this time.

When Biden is ahead in the Swing states, I will bite my tongue and start to worry.

-16 ( +4 / -20 )

Sane Conservatives not living in the MAGA fantasy world deserve better than this.

Many of these people have principles and decency.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Thank God for the Supreme Court.

State appeals go to the state supreme court.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Plus he shouldn’t have committed any crimes.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

2020hindsights

Nothing positive will come of this. Nothing to celebrate here.

Donald Trump certainly works the levers of angry indignation.

I kind of wish to see, from time to time the bland political landscape ploughed disturbed.

Below the surface, today Joe Biden democrats will rule the day they such an error.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Trump will never see the inside of a jail cell. It's too logistically difficult.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

This case was widely regarded by legal experts on both sides as the weakest of the 4. Yet he was found unanimously guilty on all 34 charges.

Justice. More to come.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

Georgia is a state case. He can't make that one go away.

That won’t happen this year.

Plus he shouldn’t have committed any crimes.

What crime?

-21 ( +2 / -23 )

Own goal by the Democrats. This will come back to haunt them big time.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

bass4funk

State appeals go to the state supreme court.

In this case he might seek the Fed court’s to intervene given this is an election year, which he can legally do. So they need to get a move on this.

The wheels of justice grind slowly. First he needs to get sentenced on July 11. Not likely to hear an appeal before the election...

9 ( +9 / -0 )

34 counts. Finally, a convict is Donald. That's him, a criminal guilty of felonies. Liberals, neutrals and Republicans all know who he is. Liz Cheney knows. Mitt Romney knows. Cohen knows. Then there's his cult. The one where Trump is enabled for everything. And believed to be liberal'd to guilt. What a joke MAGA opinion is. More like now he's guilty, it liberates the USA and the world.

He's not going to get elected president. Dependent on an acquittal? Of course. However, he's guilty as guilty gets and it's proven by 34 counts of breaking the law, under the constitution of the United States.

Lock him up. It won't likely happen as the appeal goes to the Supreme Court, his MAGA support lying one. Even if they over rule, it won't matter, it'll take too much time, and won't effect the court of public opinion.

Everyone knows he's guilty and that rabbit court will do anything to show their lying nature, to knock their credibility to an all time low. All hail Robert DeNiro!

Can't wait for the sentencing for this trial. The atrocious manner by Trump, his contempt and inability to give respect to the judge, who knows what a liar this guy is with his hoodlum act of a thug leader, will most certainly come down hard on Trump.

It should be a full sentencing for all counts guilty of a badly mannered person.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

This verdict could divide the US people like never before.

It could bring with it, the harshest "red mists" of anger, an undeniable accusation that the sacred US justice system, constitution has been blemished, besmirched.

Sorry that how I feel.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Nothing positive will come of this. Nothing to celebrate here.

He was found guilty by a jury of his peers.

The question of what good will come out of it or who’s celebrating isn’t really important.

That isn’t what a jury’s decision is based on.

Guilty. Simple.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

It doesn't look as if this is going to make much difference unless it puts a lot of Republicans and conservatives off voting for him.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

It doesn't look as if this is going to make much difference unless it puts a lot of Republicans and conservatives off voting for him

Yep.

I saw poll numbers which indicated large numbers of Republicans and independents wouldn’t vote for a convicted felon.

Let’s see if the numbers change from here.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

The walls are closing in, we said.

What walls? the MAGA faithful asked. What crime? They asked.

These walls. These crimes.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

If you are still supporting a 34 times convicted felon, with a long history of fraud and proven ties to organized crime (Australian documented findings), perhaps you should re-think your life choices.

But most certainly do not expect anyone to take you seriously. About anything.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Ironically, although this felony conviction would vary him from casting a vote in a Presidential election in many states, his name will appear on all those state's ballots, but some Presidential election party candidates (like Jill Stine) will not appear on many of those state's ballots.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Donald Trump is forever damned or deemed to be guilty of "something" invariably being "Donald Trump".

Jimizo, Donald Trump has been convicted and found guilty.

The question remains, has the US electorate found Trump to be complicit, or a victim of political judicial interference, to rig the November US elections?

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Yeah, yeah, I know what you'll say. But your side has simply done away with any vestige of truth and fairness in the pursuit of raw power. It won't end well for you.

So wrong, but here's the truth. The lying Republicans, who's party is decimated, began the lies a long time ago, topped by the attack on Iraq, at the time, by making up stories of WMD's that did not exist, they just wanted a war and Bush jr. declared Saddam was the guy who took down the towers, wrongly. But that was the mind set of lies to gain support of conservative falsehoods.

It was the beginning of George Orwell's doublethink where 2 truths are started up with lies being truth and truth being lies. Even Trump's spokeswoman said as much...there are two versions of the truth being opposite to each other and used to their convenience.

So they tell their conservative following and they lie thru their teeth. MAGA is created because by 2016, the brainwash has occurred and blurring the lines of truth and lies is so fuzzed out by them, they reverse the entire process of what is truth.

MAGA people actually believe the lies of Trump and believe the opposite of they themselves are and do, by accusing truth telling liberals of lying. The conservatives are the liars and lie ubiquitously, while accusing liberals of being the liars. Sorry MAGA, you are the liars and everyone knows it, with 34 counts of guilt, Trump wants you to believe never happened.

Do you seriously not believe Stormy Daniels detailed description of Donald Trump? Do you believe Donald never did what she says? If so, why did Trump not take the stand? You know why. He was guilty, and he could not protect himself, as his thug, uncontrollable behavior does not work outside his MAGA world.

34 counts is the real deal. Truth. And social.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Can he vote for himself in Florida, now that he is a felon? Maybe De Santis can go after him, like he did after the 2020 election.

After Trump told the supreme court that a president had the right to legally assassinate his political opponents, he is now disgusted by the [false & stupid] claim that it is being done to him. Brilliant!

6 ( +9 / -3 )

The question remains, has the US electorate found Trump to be complicit, or a victim of political judicial interference, to rig the November US elections?

No doubt hardcore Trump supporters will believe it’s rigged - they have been living in his conspiracy theory world of stolen elections, Ted Cruz’s father in on the JFK assassination etc. They have been told to say ‘lawfare’. Like parrots.

Rational, grown-up and serious people will need evidence of this rigging.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Not whining, just calling it out for what it is.

It's justice - nothing more. The unanimous decision of a 12 person jury based on the evidence presented and the law in NY state.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Trump was just convicted by a jury of his political opponents.

In a trial presided over by a judge who -- and this is undeniable -- has direct ties to Democrats, as does his daughter.

Of charges brought about by a DA who is an even bigger Democrat activist than the judge is.

During an election year.

Based on a novel legal theory where the underlying alleged crime was never clearly explained, and without requiring the jury to even reach a unanimous conclusion about it.

This was the very definition of a show trial.

America is now officially a Tin Pot Banana Republic Dictatorship.

-8 ( +5 / -13 )

Guess what, "progressives"?

Your politically motivated legal witch hunt against Trump may end up backfiring.

It may end up metaphorically blowing up in your faces.

Right now, "social media" is teeming with comments from people saying things to the effect of, "I wasn't sure if I was going to vote for Trump -- but I'm definitely voting for him now."

You may have just ended up handing the election to Trump.]

If you don't steal it, that is. (Maybe I should add "again" to that sentence?)

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

I am outraged and relieved at the same time. The thought of this great man having been found guilty of something that every red blooded man would do, cheating on his wife and lying about it, makes tremble in anger!!!

The thought of this great man sitting in the court day after day and holding in his gas moved me to tears. Now he can finally let out, we might have to clear Manhattan when that happens but that is a small price to pay for the comfort of this Mother Teresa of lying, cheating adulterous men!

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Do you know what else is undeniable? That he is a man. But that had no bearing on the case, and neither did his daughter.

During an election year.

I'm pretty sure he was charge well before the election year.

Based on a novel legal theory

Which is pretty common.

Yup. That's how the law works.

He is deluded.

But he was right when he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose a single vote.

That is scary.

How anyone can STILL support him is beyond me.

Has Trump ever won a court case.

And sadly his followers will just stick their heads in the sand and try ignore his obvious deceitful ways

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Trump will absolutely appeal but the odds of overturning this conviction are basically nonexistant.

Becoming the first Convicted Felon/Former President will not affect the harcore brainwashed MAHA types and Trump supporters, but it will absolutely have a very big impact on the many voters who have been "on the fence" about voting Trump back into office.

Voting for a Convicted Felon, for an average person, would take an enormous amount of irrational thought and denial of reality. Hereafter, the number of people who believe Trump is not fit to be President will increase exponentially.

Your own words, past and present betray your anger, your revulsion, your disgust and loathing of everything that Donald Trump stand for his values, his politics, his very presence in the democratic process.

I'm not emotional about Trump at all. I find him self-serving, incompetent and a compulsive liar.

As expected, a slam dunk. The evidence was so copious and overwhelming that the public unschooled in law or paying scant attention to the fine detail reached their own guilty verdict for the lifelong scofflaw long ago. Only kooks and crime lovers believed otherwise. As an ex-Potus with a low moral character he will be spared the humiliation of imprisonment. Sad! (for equal justice under law). The US political establishment used the state, the judicial system to bury, to expunge Donald Trump from returning to office.

I have been reading that 40% of US electorate eligible to vote, fail to make it to the ballot box

To suggest this trial will not have serious repercussions, that 40% or a proportion off might have the last say.

Keep playing the games guys, pretending that your mob aren’t corrupted just as much, if not more, that your foes. Let’s see how this plays out for yaz. I would be very cautious about celebrating this, but we all know there will be dancing and a prancing!

But his sycophants just retweet this nonsense and his followers believe it without question.

It's the populist MO.

The moderate republicans don't have the backbone to stand up to him.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

And the US electorate (I'll give that they are divided on purpose by corporate funded propaganda to vote against their own best interests and the bureaucracy of a structured duopoly to guard rentier capital interests)

will still more likely place a sex offender, felon, fraudster wage thief like Trump as POTUS rather than someone who has always held universal healthcare, education and a guaranteed social safety net as his policy agenda.

Because that would be 'socialism' natch.

Though it exists in civilized nations that are not the Number one economy in the world.

Trump is a corporate sponsored phenomenon and only exists for the dismantling of regulation and protections for citizens and the corporate tax cuts.

-9 ( +8 / -17 )

unfortunately, this is only the beginning. trump will appeal to two higher new york courts, then to the u.s. supreme court after he loses those.

he was convicted by a jury of his peers in exactly the forum of how the u.s. legal system works. nothing in the trial or jury was rigged. his attorneys had the ability to exclude jurors for any reason during jury selection. they didn't even use their juror exclusion allotment.

if you are happy about this verdict, you better temper yourself. he ain't going to jail.

when this gets to the supreme court, that's were a rigged court now exists. the unhinged supreme court will overturn the conviction.

Even Mitch McConnell has awoken and lukewarmly indicated support for Trump! Let’s go!

Oh wow, that's amazing. I never thought I'd see the day where a Republican leader supported the Republican nominee. That's a a shocker! Let's go get this felon into the whitehouse to break even more laws! reeeee

Criminally convicted, all counts. DJT. Maga tears let them flow .

No time, he has a campaign to run.

And Trump has to check in with his probation officer...

"Immediately after the trial, Trump also sent a fundraising email to his followers where he declared himself a political prisoner."

"THEY'VE JUST CONVICTED ME - SEND MONEY!"

And no doubt they will - proving once again that Trump knows "there's one born every minute"....

More Americans Grifted Again...

He’s not going to jail, if the Dems are that far gone, go for it.

The Dems don't sentence Trump, the judge does.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

Trump after money again?

He’s consistent. Dishonest but consistent.

The millionaires, private jet users, and stock market players of MAGA fantasy land can say they donated huge amounts again.

They are consistent. Dishonest but consistent.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

How to not be obsessed by this story ?

This is a great day for American

Or is it ?

I disagree, he’s not dishonest, now the people that went after him, very different.

The donors see the writing on the wall with this unsalvageable administration is in its last death throws, they know if Biden gets four more years the country will look worse than Nigeria and worse than Venezuela combined, if anyone is consistent, it’s Democrats, on the short term it’s working, but not in the long term, and by the donations that we are seeing it’s helping him, and eating with the donations is that the current president has been getting he’s not moving the needle. Very telling…

Just a pyrrhic victory for the left. We'll see sea levels rise with their tears when Trump wins in November.

Tears? How adult. No soyboys today? Have you been watching Louder with Crowder and Andrew Tate again?

In the MAGA fantasy world, The sinister puppet master Biden stoke the 2020 election from his basement and orchestrated this conviction despite being senile and not knowing what’s day it is.

Why will 2024 be different?

I haven’t heard a satisfactory answer to this.

There are many restrictions for convicts felons.

Well, it will throw the Dems monkey wrench off, they tried today, but in the long run the Dems and this administration continue to fail

After two days of deliberation, the 12-member jury pronounced Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts he faced.

Not one, or ten, but GUILTY ON ALL 34 COUNTS...

And each count can carry a maximum sentence of FOUR YEARS...

Even using MAGA-math, that's a lot of jail time...

Hope he kept his virtual golf range he had in the WH basement, maybe the warden will allow him to put it in the Rikers Island weight room...

What's the big deal here.

Rich playboys have been paying for escorts via a low-level person forever.

Never have a rich playboy paid himself to escort after the service.

Someone low level person passes the envelope. lol

Very true sir, cheating on your pregnant wife with a porn star is the highest form of honesty there is!!

Finally, the conman and grifter that every New Yorker realized he was since at least the 1980's is having his comeuppance. He'll likely get probation and yet could still very well win in November because his cultish followers could care less. He's acting like a martyr, but he's just a punk. Don't drop the soap, Donald.

Not one, or ten, but GUILTY ON ALL 34 COUNTS...

Ok, and it’s still not stopping him

And each count can carry a maximum sentence of FOUR YEARS...

Even using MAGA-math, that's a lot of jail time...

Which he will never serve

Hope he kept his virtual golf range he had in the WH basement, maybe the warden will allow him to put it in the Rikers Island weight room...

Not going to happen.

Pretty short memory you have, ol' boy. Forgotten the four years between 2016-2020?

And what's your unhealthy obsession with "North American right-wing podcasters"? You seem awfully threatened by them.

I haven't heard a satisfactory answer to this, but I think the "deplorables" have your measure.

Not one, or ten, but GUILTY ON ALL 34 COUNTS...

Ok,

Thanks for admitting it...

And each count can carry a maximum sentence of FOUR YEARS...

Even using MAGA-math, that's a lot of jail time...

Which he will never serve

Huh?

hope he kept his virtual golf range he had in the WH basement, maybe the warden will allow him to put it in the Rikers Island weight room...

Not going to happen.

Said he won't be tried - was. Said he won't be indicted - was. Said he won't be convicted - was.

That's some "funk"....ROFL...

MAGA supporters are busy whitewashing Trump's convictions. 34 guilty.

Just checking- Trump slept with a porn star, paid hush money to her to illegally influence the election, and the ‘family values’ and ‘law and order’ party are right there with him. SMH

Thanks for admitting it...

That he will continue to campaign

Said he won't be tried - was. Said he won't be indicted - was. Said he won't be convicted - was.

All failed.

That's some "funk"....ROFL...

Which means good.

MAGA supporters are busy whitewashing Trump's convictions. 34 guilty.

Not trying to white wash misdemeanors, Dems can dwell on it, we move forward for November
