"at stake is not simply the leadership of our party and even our country, it is our right to moral leadership of this planet."

Wow... What?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Thought there was no extreme left? I didn’t have a problem with Obama outside of his constant identity politics, overbearing arrogance and supposed moral superiority.

I held my nose and voted for him twice hoping he would at least fix race relations. Didn’t happen. I won’t be voting Dem ever again. You are racially and gender disqualifying your own candidates already.

this moral arrogance and “we are so smart” is just too much.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

She ain't a candidate for president. Tee Her. Oh my . . . HAR!

Kamala might pick her for VP. Har!

Here's good enough reason alone why you shouldn't vote for Kamala:

Ex-ICE director slams Kamala Harris for comparing ICE to KKK

Appears nothing has changed since the last general election cycle. The dems still have no credible candidate to run for President.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

In today’s Democratic Party, Joe Biden is nearly a Republican. That’s how far left all these others have taken you all.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

It’s all moot anyway as Hillary said she won’t rule out running again.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

So far all the Democrat Presidential candidates have basically the same policy for the American voter - raise taxes, open borders and spend spend spend.

Ironic comment considering the past two Democratic presidents left the country in significantly better financial circumstances than the previous two, who left it in a worse place. Then you add on Trump's $2 trillion that he's added to it, and all I can see to whining about the Democrats and spending is: But you guys.

2 ( +12 / -10 )

Uh, no, she didn't. Her mother relocated to Canada and took her with her when she was 12. Harris went on to graduate from a high school in Montreal. Y'all need to check out her Wikipedia page before that pesky little fact gets scrubbed.

Those years in ‘Canada’ could well be the genesis of a conspiracy theory. Show us the certificate and make sure it’s genuine. Do her classmates remember her?

Keep an eye on the usual toilets where these things are usually found - the National Enquirer, Alex Jones and the President of the United States’ tweets.

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Yeah what’s up with her claiming her party deserves moral leadership of the planet?

i couldn’t read all that identity politics paragraph after paragraph. Did they mention how she got all her breaks in politics?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

@Texas Of course the Dems have a credible candidate - just because Hillary hasn't announced yet it doesn't mean she won't!

Seriously though, Tulsi Gabbard has some integrity, and credit to her for resigning from the DNC to endorse Sanders in 2016, but unless quits the Democrats and runs as an independent I would not consider voting for her over Trump.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

God forbid. A Republican or a Democrat wanting to work together or hear each other’s message and try to be open minded.

Those days are long over. It’s now all about tribalism. The American Left has engendered a “with us or against us” mentality forcing those that disagree with their radical socialist economic and social justice policy ideas to vote for their own tribe in self defense. The American Left used to push for integration and believed that people were to be judged based on the ‘content of their character’. No more.

Senator Harris is a perfect example of the modern Leftists ethos. They see the world through the lens of oppressor and oppressed. The “oppressed” are supported no matter what they do and the “oppressor” usually a white male conservative Christian is always wrong - even when they are right. It’s gotten to the point where a Democrat president would readily comment on high profile criminal cases always blaming the white person ( or person merely perceived as white) for incidents involving a minority, even before the facts of the matter are known. The mentality of Senator Harris is to condemn and brow beat white males appearing before the Senate justice committee for perceived and unproven injustices. The Left and their allies in the press even attack teens who have been verbally harassed by racists and have adults approach them banging a drum in their face.

I’m sorry but until the Left snaps out of its tribalism the division in American politics will only get worse.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

good luck with that Dems... what is your platform? less jobs, higher taxes and more illegal aliens? haha

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Kamala might pick her for VP. Har!

AOC has you guys really, really rattled. So rattled, in fact, that you can't even take a few moments to recognize the fact that Alexandra Ocasio Cortez isn't eligible to run for President for another 6 years, since the Constitution requires that the President be 35 or older.

You must have missed my "Har!" lol

No, AOC doesn't have me rattled, she does, however cause me to "Har!" a lot. Tippy toppy, and all that.

Trump will NOT get my vote ever

Yeah, well, that arrogant snob Kamala Harris will never get my vote ever, so we're even.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The US Political system needs changing as at present, the same situation continues with just new faces.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Kamela Harris hasn't even completed her term and she wants to run for President?  She has no experience or agenda.   The Democrats, have only one agenda:  "IMPEACH TRUMP!", "DEFEAT TRUMP!"

Since the 2016 election and the 2018 mid-term elections, the Democrat party, spearheaded by Bernie Sanders, Pelosi, Harris, Ocasio-Cortz, et al, has moved the Party extreme left. Credit Bernie with making "socialism" within the Democrat Party and the media acceptable at a time when previously nobody wanted to mention the "S" word or being associated with the label. Now it's mainstream within the party. Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson must be spinning in their graves.

But to you guys at the extreme left, the center appears to be extreme right.

Alexandra Ocasio Cortez isn't eligible to run for President for another 6 years, since the Constitution requires that the President be 35 or older.

There is a growing movement to change the constitution so she CAN run for president.

https://hotair.com/archives/2018/12/12/vox-change-constitution-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-can-run-president/

When Bernie or Hillary runs, they will probably pick Harris or AOC as running mate. Should they croak in office, AOC becomes President.....God forbid!

Anyone, ANYONE but a Republican right-wing radical, please, God.

Please, God? A leftist invoking the name of God? HAR! The leftists/liberals in the U.S., in the name of political correctness, have been trying to stamp out everything associated with "God" and even demonizing Christianity and Christian traditions.

Anyone, ANYONE but a "Progressive-Democrat/Socialist-Democrat" left-wing radical....please, God!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Anyone, ANYONE but a Republican right-wing radical, please, God.

Ah, so President Trump then? Good, I agree.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Obama was center left.

That’s like saying Bernie is a quasi capitalist.

The right-wing politicians and media will say any Democrat candidate is far left because it makes their base afraid and turns them into a reliable voter.

Free for all healthcare, free daycare, abolish ICE, expanding entitlements and the increasing the government, raise taxes, but the environment over working class people, Yeah...reliable socialist party promising something they can never keep.

What happened was people starting writing how far right the GOP has shifted,

And the liberals shifted further to their left almost all becoming new Sanders clones and why? Because they want to win and only in this toxic deplorable climate only the staunchest socialist can get the nomination.

usually using Reagan as the example of someone who wouldn't even make it out of a GOP primary these days. Looks like the bubble is taking that, repackaging it for the Left, and printing things like Biden not being Democrat anymore.

Yeah and JFK by liberal standards would be considered a neocon by Democrats.

Also, the far left is marginalized in the Democratic party.

Yes and Trump is THE MOST beloved politician ever!

Very little voice, if any, unless it's on Fox News trying to convince their leaders the fringe are mainstream. The far right in the GOP practically runs their wing of the government.

Super, you are a funny man. Loved it!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

She certainly has the Trumpty Dumpty fans on here worried! Must be doing something right...

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Never mind that no candidate has said they want to raise taxes

You've never heard of AOC? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She'd like to see the "tippy top" rich people pay 70%.

She even got dissed by fellow liberal Whoopie Goldberg.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

She is a "major Democrat"??

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

good luck with that Dems... what is your platform? less jobs, higher taxes and more illegal aliens?

Who needs a platform? The 'Pubs showed with the election of Don the Con that obstruction without any plan is a winning path to the White House. that's all the Democrats need to do to take back the white house.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Kamela Harris hasn't even completed her term and she wants to run for President?

This commentary addresses that question quite well:

In her "First Thoughts" monologue on Fox Nation Monday morning, Tomi Lahren argued that elected leaders who want to run for president should have to resign from their current posts before launching their campaigns

Obama was center left

Obama was and is in the center far Left.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Harris . . . .said that as she . . . grew up in the East Bay -- article

Uh, no, she didn't. Her mother relocated to Canada and took her with her when she was 12. Harris went on to graduate from a high school in Montreal. Y'all need to check out her Wikipedia page before that pesky little fact gets scrubbed.

-2 ( +9 / -11 )

She basically announced it when she and Spartacus were trying to stop Kavanaugh being confirmed.

I hope she gets the nomination, Trump will cream her, hehe

Oh my...

Kamala Harris leading Democrats further left

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Xt9SGhHoXo

-2 ( +9 / -11 )

She needs time to turn that into a vile racist/sexist smear. And she needs more of it to get her to the next level.

That how to advance in the Republican Party. Harris is a democrat.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

You've never heard of AOC? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She'd like to see the "tippy top" rich people pay 70%.

So does Ann Coulter. Be careful, you know how Trump turns into a quivering orange jelly when she speaks.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

Ha!

I knew I would get -'s right away for trying to be honest about my fellings on a Democratic candidate I know nothing about. I am actually wondering how many -'s I will get before comments are turned off.

God forbid. A Republican or a Democrat wanting to work together or hear each other’s message and try to be open minded.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

When you're at the extreme right, everyone else is 'The Left'.

So sad but true. I really cannot wait for both parties start working together in a functioning capacity. I just do not see it happening under Trump. No one likes him in the Democratic party. He is like that kid at your first (friends over) Birthday party you hate. That one kid. That mean kid. But your Mom made you invite him for equality and fairness reason's. But when party is over. He still can't ride Big Wheels with us the next day.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Politics and Policy are very different things.

Experience? Please tell me how her lack of experience could disqualify someone when the current President has no political experience.

Last two Democratic Presidents vs Last two Republican Presidents? Clinton was a horrible President. He was also a very lucky President. Clinton presided over America during one of the few times it actually produced anything. Any President would have been a great President at that point. Have you heard of the roaring 20s? The Great Depression? The Glass-Steagall Act? Clinton did more harm to the U.S. economy than Bush. He allowed, people like me to exist and find success. Banking and Investments were separated prior to his Presidency for a reason. Once he repelled the Act, banks were now allowed to invest millions and billions of American consumer dollars. Up to the FDIC limits of course. Should they lose any of it, FDIC would give them the funds back. They kept all the gains. Between 2000 and 2007, FDIC payments contributed almost $3 Trillions dollars to the national debt. When the bubble burst America was only at $9 or $10 Trillion in debt. Roughly 30% came from the banking sector alone. But Clinton is a great President.

@Serrano.

Yes, Read the transcripts here.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2018/11/15/kamala_harris_ice_nominee_ronald_vitiello_are_you_aware_of_parallels_between_ice_kkk.html

It was comparison in the extreme for sure. Seeking parallels that any person with a brain could sort through. ICE-KKK Come on. Prosecutors pitch! When Trump ran and he compared many people and groups in the same fashion. This is just a byproduct of today’s hostile political theater. That Clinton and Trump set forth.

But she did make the comparison and that is going to resonate with some and cost her votes ultimately. More knowledge for me is still to be gained. I like to hear everyone’s message. But Trump will NOT get my vote ever. I have always felt and still feel the same I did the day he announced his Presidential bid. UNQUALIFIED and LACKING in MORALS.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

raise taxes, open borders and spend spend spend.

spend like the $1trillion Trump ax cut, which is expected to cost $1.5trillion over the next 10yrs, add to that the extra $2Trillion added to the deficit under Trump, seems like Trump is just as good at spending as any POTUS

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Ironic comment considering the past two Democratic presidents left the country in significantly better financial circumstances than the previous two, who left it in a worse place. Then you add on Trump's $2 trillion that he's added to it, and all I can see to whining about the Democrats and spending is: But you guys.

Once again such an insightful comment.

Absolutely. Never mind that no candidate has said they want to raise taxes, have open borders, or spend, spend, spend.

How's the deficit doing under Dumpster Donny?

-4 ( +8 / -12 )

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

The sjw types don't seem to understand that there isn't a Republican party. There might be a few politicians that have "republican ideas" , but the majority are essentially democrats. Trump couldn't get a wall for 2 years because Paul Ryan the "republican" wouldn't put it to vote.

Posters get so hysterical over anyone that doesn't openly support their dogma that they fail to see that there is one party in Washington. The players all tell different lies to get a seat and then follow the marching orders of the establishment. Cortez wont get anywhere if she doesn't follow orders. She will be destroyed for fighting the system. Kamala will be president one day if she follows orders and wait for her turn.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

In the last two photos. Seems like allot of people attended. Look closer. Mostly kids in that one photo. Last time I checked. Children cannot vote. Just an observation. I do not know enough about this Democratic candidate to form an opinion yet. But I despise California politics. To wrapped up in Hollywood and getting that celebrity base and money going. Maybe she is different? I do not mind she has a mixed ethnicity either. Nothing wrong with it at all. Never was on that Obama rubbish either that he was not a naturalized citizen.

I will say this. I like the sound of this.

"We are here because the American Dream and our American democracy are under attack and on the line like never before. Okay. Interested. Would like to hear more.

We are better than this. Yes, we are.

I am Republican for the record.

@slickdrifter, your comments are the only ones worth reading. If there's anything missing in the US, it's open minds. But, that's just this Canadian's opinion. I expect to get the down-finger from others on this thread, just like you did. But, prevail in honest open-minded expression. It's the only way.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

In today’s Democratic Party, Joe Biden is nearly a Republican. That’s how far left all these others have taken you all.

We've been saying all along Obama was centrist.

But to you guys at the extreme right, the center appears to be the extreme left.

That's why the opinions of the extreme right should really be disregarded as useless. Because the extreme right is useless. As is the extreme left.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Anyone, ANYONE but a Republican right-wing radical, please, God.

And since the Vice President has the same requirements as the Presidency....

Then again, I wouldn't expect a mouth breathing Russian troll farm to understand that.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

You must have missed my "Har!" lol

No, AOC doesn't have me rattled, she does, however cause me to "Har!" a lot. Tippy toppy, and all that.

If she didn't have you rattled, you wouldn't be bringing her up constantly in threads about Presidential politics and who's running for President. Hardly a thread goes by without you mentioning her.

Honestly, it makes you look "scurred."

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Trump will win in 2020, so this is all pointless.

-7 ( +10 / -17 )

She is too young and has no experience. She would make a great VP for 2020 and a great candidate for 2024.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

She needs time to turn that into a vile racist/sexist smear. And she needs more of it to get her to the next level.

There are too many activist minority types in the House of Rep. That is going to become old pretty quick.

Y'all need to check out her Wikipedia page before that pesky little fact gets scrubbed.

Adults don't use Wikipedia for research.
