I'm actually a reading a book at the moment about the German Special Police forces in World War Two, whose job was precisely to round up Jews and stuff them into cattle cars 150-200 at a time for transport to Treblinka, bound for extermination. Except of course the ones they didn't shoot on the spot for being too old, or too young, or too sick, or not moving quickly enough, whatever.

So the inappropriateness of this imagery in the service of a so-called "cause" like this one actually leaves me quite unable to make an appropriate comment. Except for pointing out what an obscene misuse of history the imagery is, which, I dunno, just doesn't seem quite enough.

I am canadian and entirely used to and feel entitled to my freedoms. However, the American attitudes about this pandemic, especially towards masks and potential vaccines, have encouraged me to voluntarily wear my mask to do my part in containing the virus. But they see the damage bring done?

I’m just so glad I don’t live in the U.S. Partly because I don’t want to live in fear of the virus, and also because I don’t want the whole world to look down on my country
