Not a royalist but I have empathy for her being a cancer survivor. It must have been hard for her to explain her cancer to her very young children, and I guess also the cancer of Charles. There is no need for all the online ugliness and conspiracies.

Being a mom gives her much stronger statistical chance of survival vs. non-mother status, all else being equal.

Huh? There is a very sound "counter" to this. There was barely any wind. (The conspiracy theorists are so hellbent on finding anything that they do not use any logic).

The average Brit can't afford private healthcare insurance. Most have to rely on the NHS.

Buckingham Palace could have handled this much better. Their rather obvious hiding of the truth led to the conspiracies. Or is it a conspiracy if it proves to be true?

Additional health insurance is a very common corporate benefit in the UK which allows those who have it to see a consultant straight away and get quickly treated. Family cover is usually the a few thousand GBP a year.

But even if you don't, if you can afford the cost of seeing a consultant privately, it is worth it. Yes, a few hundred pounds or whatever, and unaffordable to many, but for most it isn't, and it could be life saving.

As a case in point, my mum went to see her normal doctor, and when he saw her, told her to shut up because he saw something else was wrong. Did a couple of tests and said she should see a heart specialist for a checkup. This could have taken ages under the NHS.

She went to private, saw someone 2 days later, and he told her to go to the emergency department at the hospital the next morning with a bag. She was admitted immediately. That relatively small expense probably saved her life.

I agree. The mother's day photo was so obviously faked that the media themselves (major publications that is) put a stop order on it. This then became the story. Rather than dumb Twitterheads or talk radio conspiracists suggesting it was fake, they probably think all photos are fake, it was all of the major press agencies banning the photo's distribution, because they saw it as their duty to not send out false information. For a Buckingham Palace press release to be treated in this way was a PR disaster.

I would imagine higher cancer rates in younger persons must be related to obesity and the destruction of our food culture with food processing cartel.

Cancer is multi-factorial. Believe it or not, Generation Z and Millennials, taking serious action regarding lifestyle improvements relative to Gen X and baby boomers.

And yet cancer in all younger cohorts still rising and in fact spiking these past few years. Covid's a big factor, causing serious long term health damage to society.

Kate's doing world a big favor, sharing her cancer story, setting a great example. Let's hope medical researchers can get a handle on surge in youth under 45 cancer rates.

No, but that is one uncertainty (concerning the virus) I never will have to worry about.

Human health a series of systems, when one or more systems like heart, brain and/or lungs damaged, other health system damage and illnesses become more likely.

Covid's a clear a trigger for many types of organ damage, that then statistically result in increased rates of cancer for those individuals. Thankfully not all people suffer severe Covid infection consequences.

As the Covid virus is so new, less than 5 years, researchers struggling to connect the dots, the data's duration too limited. Greater the number of infections a person experiences, greatly correlates with disease and adverse health conditions of all sorts, including cancer.
