Britain's Daily Mail tabloid also lashed out, asking: "How do all those vile online trolls feel now?"

The Daily Mail, one of the country's leading trolls, attacking a good proportion of its own readership. If you really want to feel humanity is done for, read comments in the Mail.

Online trolls, sock puppets, spammers etc are trash, but the Daily Mail is hardly in a position to be talking about integrity and decency.

Garbage tabloid.

Not a royalist but I have empathy for her being a cancer survivor. It must have been hard for her to explain her cancer to her very young children, and I guess also the cancer of Charles. There is no need for all the online ugliness and conspiracies.

Being a mom gives her much stronger statistical chance of survival vs. non-mother status, all else being equal.

Huh? There is a very sound "counter" to this. There was barely any wind. (The conspiracy theorists are so hellbent on finding anything that they do not use any logic).

Please use a bit of critical thinking. Don't believe everything on Facebook.

Many of them jumped on the conspiracy bandwagon, baselessly linking Kate's diagnosis to "turbo cancer," a myth linked to COVID-19 vaccines that has been repeatedly debunked.

These folks online are the biggest dropkicks around. Ask them to cite a few reputable sources to substantiate this "turbo cancer" claim, and they either a - ask one to prove turbo cancer does not exist or b - get abusive and attack those questioning them. Vile individuals.

During the Covid period, fewer people were being tested for cancers.

Prostate cancer diagnoses in 20,000 men could have been missed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finds a new study from the University of Surrey.

The Daily Mail or rightwing North American podcast watching spammers for integrity, honesty and intelligence - a tough choice.

I hate to put the Daily Mail above anything but it wins hands-down here.

Numerous studies correlating vaccines with medical conditions like cancer, and not just Covid-19 vaccines.

Researchers know vaccines are risky, but so is the underlying disease. There's no free lunch, vaccines not without risk to human health, including cancer.

Why almost no physician supports prior infection individuals taking a vaccine if underlying health is good. Clearly Kate's healthy, not high risk.

@Jimizo: Cor. Big statement, but in this case, sadly true.

Fact Check

No evidence COVID-19 vaccines have caused an increase in cancers, contrary to claims made on social media.

One of my mentors, when at college, barked at me the other day.

Only the rich are frightened of dying young of cancer, terminal decease, frightened, focusing on spending what they have left

Because they only fully appreciate the loss of not being able survive long enough to spend such wealth.

It is the rest that wait in NHS queues, in the vain hope. to be referred for treatment, only then to be cured and subsequently spend the rest of one’s life scraping together a merger state pension, clinging on for future government to send us to the soup kitchens away.

Kate on a park bench, what does that honestly mean to a UK electorate?

The conspiracy theories?

Whilst the Daily Mail insufferable toadies scream for their readers to weep a river.

Britain's Daily Mail tabloid also lashed out, asking: "How do all those vile online trolls feel now?"

The bitter irony.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I know my whingeing won't win friends and influence people.

Never has

But it aggravates irritates enough to start questioning why Kate is required to park bench lonesome calling for privacy.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Everyone whining about conspiracy theories (except their own, of course) yet they plunk themselves down and write endless streams about some famous person and their faults and "we wish them well" and so on. What's fight about. The woman has cancer. That's bad. So she's famous, so what. It's bad, best wishes, let's see what's under another headline.

Is it possible to buy supplementary insurance like in Japan for cancer? Brits don't realize how good they have it compared to Americans.

This is definitely the fault of the oyajis in the Japanese government

The average Brit can't afford private healthcare insurance. Most have to rely on the NHS.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Buckingham Palace could have handled this much better. Their rather obvious hiding of the truth led to the conspiracies. Or is it a conspiracy if it proves to be true?

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Redemption,

It is that wait for a referral that could be a deal breaker in the UK.

The cost for private health cancer care is very expensive.

UK health insurance needs to be carefully thought through.

Kate in many respects, some would insist for good reason, received diagnosis treatment that reflect her status.

At 42 with 3 children.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Some people have way too much free time on their hands.

Instead of sitting at home and knocking one out to conspiracy theories on Facebook, I suggest scuba diving or decorative quilt making.

Is it possible to buy supplementary insurance like in Japan for cancer? Brits don't realize how good they have it compared to Americans.

Additional health insurance is a very common corporate benefit in the UK which allows those who have it to see a consultant straight away and get quickly treated. Family cover is usually the a few thousand GBP a year.

But even if you don't, if you can afford the cost of seeing a consultant privately, it is worth it. Yes, a few hundred pounds or whatever, and unaffordable to many, but for most it isn't, and it could be life saving.

As a case in point, my mum went to see her normal doctor, and when he saw her, told her to shut up because he saw something else was wrong. Did a couple of tests and said she should see a heart specialist for a checkup. This could have taken ages under the NHS.

She went to private, saw someone 2 days later, and he told her to go to the emergency department at the hospital the next morning with a bag. She was admitted immediately. That relatively small expense probably saved her life.

Peddlers of conspiracy theories are just empty attention seekers - no matter the topic they'll be there to spread vile, cruel or just plain insane theories... weirdos!

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Buckingham Palace could have handled this much better. Their rather obvious hiding of the truth led to the conspiracies. Or is it a conspiracy if it proves to be true?

I agree. The mother's day photo was so obviously faked that the media themselves (major publications that is) put a stop order on it. This then became the story. Rather than dumb Twitterheads or talk radio conspiracists suggesting it was fake, they probably think all photos are fake, it was all of the major press agencies banning the photo's distribution, because they saw it as their duty to not send out false information. For a Buckingham Palace press release to be treated in this way was a PR disaster.

I would imagine higher cancer rates in younger persons must be related to obesity and the destruction of our food culture with food processing cartel.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Cancer is multi-factorial. Believe it or not, Generation Z and Millennials, taking serious action regarding lifestyle improvements relative to Gen X and baby boomers.

And yet cancer in all younger cohorts still rising and in fact spiking these past few years. Covid's a big factor, causing serious long term health damage to society.

Kate's doing world a big favor, sharing her cancer story, setting a great example. Let's hope medical researchers can get a handle on surge in youth under 45 cancer rates.

Why are so many young people getting cancer? What the data say

Clues to a modern mystery could be lurking in information collected generations ago.

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-024-00720-6

How common is cancer in children? About 9,620 children in the United States under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with cancer in 2024. Childhood cancer rates had been rising slightly for the past few decades, but have stabilized since 2010.

That does not mean you won't become a victim of cancer.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

That does not mean you won't become a victim of cancer.

No, but that is one uncertainty (concerning the virus) I never will have to worry about.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Human health a series of systems, when one or more systems like heart, brain and/or lungs damaged, other health system damage and illnesses become more likely.

Covid's a clear a trigger for many types of organ damage, that then statistically result in increased rates of cancer for those individuals. Thankfully not all people suffer severe Covid infection consequences.

As the Covid virus is so new, less than 5 years, researchers struggling to connect the dots, the data's duration too limited. Greater the number of infections a person experiences, greatly correlates with disease and adverse health conditions of all sorts, including cancer.
