I doubt the third fatty can do much, he's in a nuclear standoff too.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Pretty much what was expected.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Two little kids playing a little game all due to their fragile egos. Let's just hope it doesn't kill anyone.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

As the great Paul Calf famously said, "It's like watching gobshite tennis".

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Wow.

The crazy leader of North Korea has a better mastery of the English language than the average deplorable.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The crazy leader of North Korea has a better mastery of the English language than the average deplorable.

Yeah, but he doesn’t have the control or power of the US military might.

Two little kids playing a little game all due to their fragile egos. Let's just hope it doesn't kill anyone.

That would depend on the Dear Marshal and how he goes forward with this. Let’s hope his generals can talk some much needed sense into his head.

Trump or Kim? Both?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

It's now pretty clear that the confrontation has become personal to both DT & KJU. Inflammatory rhetoric and personal insults rarely (read never) help resolve conflicts, at home or abroad.

Feels like both are trying very hard to get under each other's skin and trigger 'the fight response' as neither DT nor KJU want to start it (war) yet both want to crush their rival. catch-22

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Trump or Kim? Both?

That would be Mr. Kim, sir.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

That would depend on the Dear Marshal and how he goes forward with this

Do you thwill NK will stop new rocket launches as a result? They're launching so many more with Trump in office than Obama.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

They're launching so many more with Trump in office than Obama.

Yes, but it's because of what Obama did THEN, not what Trump is doing NOW.

Unlike the current rosy economy, which is what Trump is dong NOW, not what Obama did THEN. You have to be selective in your blame.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Do you thwill NK will stop new rocket launches as a result?

I don’t know, but if they don’t, they were warned.

They're launching so many more with Trump in office than Obama.

They weren’t at that level with their nuclear technology as they were while Obama was in office because Obama didn’t THINK they would continue their proliferation.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

because Obama didn’t THINK they would continue their proliferation.

You see Superlib? Right on cue!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Now we see what provocation NK will do to respond which will inevitably result in tighter sanctions on NK, so it's a no win situation for Kim. Now the foreign minister of NK is saying that they may test a hydro bomb in the Pacific, which would unite the world against him and invite some sort of concerted action

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You see Superlib? Right on cue!

If the shoe fits.....

Don’t hate the messenger, hate the message.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

They weren’t at that level with their nuclear technology as they were while Obama was in office because Obama didn’t THINK they would continue their proliferation.

So because Obama didn't think they would continue proliferation, they weren't at that tech level?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

So because Obama didn't think they would continue proliferation, they weren't at that tech level?

Probably not. Don’t know about you, but I’m extremely happy that we have a president that doesn’t believe in capitulation with our enemies. Go Trump!

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Sanctions aren't enough! Punish Pyongyang...with firepower!!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

@bass

Do you still think North Korea are more apprehensive after Trump talked about fire and fury in the past.

I haven't seen any sign of it. Have you?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

@Bass - Was just reading a report that there is a possibility NK is gearing up for a hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific. If it happens will you still be saying NK is being more apprehensive?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Do you still think North Korea are more apprehensive after Trump talked about fire and fury in the past.

Probably not, but they’ve been warned, so the ball is in their court, so let’s see what the NK will do, take heed or continue on the path of their own destruction.

I haven't seen any sign of it. Have you?

No news is good news, good! Got that out of the way.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Look, as much as I don't like Trump, and I don't think he helps..

These weapons must have been in development long before he got in power..

And NK is clearly and conveniently missing the qualifying factor, IF NK attacks they will be obliterated..

Which is hardly news.. Its been that way forever, even China said if its NK initiated they won't defend them.

The question is, will NK push it to that point, personally I think if they did do a nuclear test outside of their boarders that has to be far enough over the line to start discussions with China and Russia about military strikes.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Don’t know about you, but I’m extremely happy that we have a president that doesn’t believe in capitulation with our enemies. Go Trump!

If we didn't, NKwould be launching even more missiles?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Was just reading a report that there is a possibility NK is gearing up for a hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific. If it happens will you still be saying NK is being more apprehensive

No, I’m saying if that were to happen, we will probably say “goodbye” to that nation.

If we didn't, NKwould be launching even more missiles?

Judging by Kim’s actions, I think he’s that far gone and would go down with the ship. Too bad. Trump did the right thing, hit them as hard as they can with sanctions, that’s the first step, they should be as painful as possible and if that doesn’t work, he said, he’ll turn the matter over to DS Tillerson and Gen. Mattis. You can assume what happens next. Again, good on Trump for being as hard as he can with NK.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

What would Team America do?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Kim characterized Trump's speech to the world body as "mentally deranged behavior."

Well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black.

And after the NY Post article that came out today from the NK defector Kim has only shown the depths of his depravity and corruption.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He sounds a lot like Maxine Waters. Did Kim mention impeachment too?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

As long as Kim doesn't launch an attack on the ROK or Japan or Guam or Hawaii or the US military and/or the US mainland, this current game of dueling diatribes and hyperbolic rhetoric will remain just so much hot air.

The US has officially stated that any belligerent aggression directed at it and/or any of its allies would elicit a vigorous military response. All the DPRK has to do is not commit any acts of belligerent aggression. Both sides can talk smack all they want as long as their sense of self-preservation keeps them from acting stupid.

I think Kim's antics are kind of wearing thin with the neighbors and I'm sure that heads are being gotten together to come up with ideas on how to sort this mess out. If Kim keeps up his petulence and Trump keeps up his rhetoric, the neighbors (or maybe just one of them) may think it would be best to put some of their ideas into action. I still think China is in a great position to execute a regime change in the DPRK and still come out smelling like a rose.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

his country may test a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean

Dear god, I hope not.

Btw, now is an excellent time for Abe to take a step back and ignore NK for a bit, I dont want him to utter anything stupid that might again shift the focus to Japan.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Russia and china are using north korea as a proxy against the US. That is why they continue to support them

1 ( +2 / -1 )

As regards military power, the U.S. is like a lion and North Korea a house cat. So when I see N.K. threatens the U.S. by flaunting newly-developed or to-be-developed missiles and nuclear weapons, it's like seeing a cat sharpening its claws and threatening the lion with its gigantic claws.

I don't know where this bickering between North Korea's Leader Kim Jung Un and U.S. President Donald Trump is going but cannot help but wish that nothing serious would happen.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

That would depend on the Dear Marshal and how he goes forward with this. Let’s hope his generals can talk some much needed sense into his head. and what would his generals say against his wishes, especially since hes assassinated anybody that has any chance of dethroning him.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Im trying to find the video of Kim's speech but cannot find it anywhere. Anyone have a link ?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sanctions aren't enough! Punish Pyongyang...with firepower!!

And how will that help those of us living in the region, do you think?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

No news is good news

@Bass: I disagree, the worst thing that could happen is if NK unilaterally stops regular testing of their missiles and nukes and instead quietly develops a massive arsenal that they reveal to the world out of the blue. Now with the world's complete attention on NK, we are finally seeing action and harsh sanctions on them to get them to reverse course.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

They really are two sides of the same coin, aren't they.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

katsu78: "They really are two sides of the same coin, aren't they."

Absolutely, and that's why Trump said he would love to go to NK and "meet the gentleman".

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

but I’m extremely happy that we have a president that doesn’t believe in capitulation with our enemies. Go Trump!

Go straight to jail, Trump. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Iran is not my enemy, neither is Cuba nor the ordinary people of the DPRK.

Repeated calls here for war are offensive and insulting to the people of this region and especially craven given that in all likelyhood, the advocates for such a grave conflict will be watching the events from the comfortable vantage point of thousands of miles away.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

So, will the next Missile that flies over Japan be a Nuke for test detonation within the Pacific ? That would I'd imagine, make one think twice about shooting it down whilst over Japanese Territory. And what if there was some failure mid-flight leading it to crash into the Japanese mainland, and detonate, what then ?

If the NK's wanted to test it out, I guess they could roll up somewhere within the Pacific in one of their Subs, stick it upon a raft, then detonate at will from a safe distance. That said, if they also wanted, I'd imagine they could also conduct a suicide attack upon any of the US bases within the range of their Subs.

Scary stuff.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

...on the path of their own destruction.

What does this mean, exactly? Is this just rhetorical?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Can you not grasp that KJU is going to nuke Japan at some point in the future anyway? Appeasement didn't stop Hitler, did it? Learn your history.

The nazis were long in the tooth by the time Chamberlain got his piece of paper. Learn your history.

Again; are you prepared for the deaths of millions in the conflict you're advocating? How do you think it will make life for you in Japan?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Bass: Trump did the right thing, hit them as hard as they can with sanctions, that’s the first step

So he's continuing along the same path as Obama.

But the question remains....why has NK increased their rhetoric and missile launches dramatically under Trump? They never did those things to the same extent when Obama was president. It seems all Trump has done is made things worse.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

A hydrogen bomb exploded anywhere in the Pacific would start a war. It would cause catastrophic damage to all the creatures of that part of the ocean, as well as vaporize any ships in the area and any passenger airliners anywhere near the target site. If that's what KJU wants, no one can stop him until after the fact.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Iran is not my enemy, neither is Cuba nor the ordinary people of the DPRK.

Of course the people of these country are NOT our enemy, everyone living knows that, however, the same cannot be said about their governments.

Repeated calls here for war are offensive and insulting to the people of this region and especially craven given that in all likelyhood,

I agree, so tell Kim to stop proliferating and we can all resume our normal peaceful lives.

the advocates for such a grave conflict will be watching the events from the comfortable vantage point of thousands of miles away.

A weak argument, but Probably.

So he's continuing along the same path as Obama.

Harsher and more punishing with an added bonus, keep it up and face ultimate destruction.

But the question remains....why has NK increased their rhetoric and missile launches dramatically under Trump?

I’m not in the mind of Kim, but they’ve been pursuing a bomb since the 90’s so it’s plausible to assume they have been at this for a very long time and now they are at the defining moment.

They never did those things to the same extent when Obama was president.

Doesn’t mean they weren’t building towards that, I mean, they just didn’t halt progress of building nukes while the anointed one was in office and now that Trump is in, they decided to ratchet it up. Dude.....lol

It seems all Trump has done is made things worse.

I disagree, Kim finally found out his reckless actions, if continued, will cost him dearly. Good on Trump for making sure Kim knows, he needs to stop his reckless actions.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Can you not grasp that KJU is going to nuke Japan at some point in the future anyway?

Pure speculation that is not actually backed up by anything.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Hail President Trump! At last we have a strong leader!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

To all of the hawks on this, how many of you are in Japan or have people you care about in Japan? Do you really want America to attack NK, and have Kim launch his entire arsenal at SK and Japan?

A computer virus or a massive directed EMP burst are the only things to stop launches.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

BungleToday  09:06 pm JST

Pure speculation that is not actually backed up by anything.

Why do we have to wait for NK to attack us first, pray tell?

Because sane people go to war over things that exist in the real world. Moral concerns aside, when you start going to war over hypothetical possibilities that only exist in your head, it becomes impossible to know when the war should be over.

"unfit to hold the prerogative of supreme command of a country.".."a rogue and a gangster fond of playing with fire."

He has NO sense of irony, does he?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

To all of the hawks on this, how many of you are in Japan or have people you care about in Japan? Do you really want America to attack NK, and have Kim launch his entire arsenal at SK and Japan?

I do and I’m not so worried about JAPAN AS much as I’m worried about the US. Also, i don’t know what Mattis has as far as contingency plans are concerned.

A computer virus or a massive directed EMP burst are the only things to stop launches.

So what’s your point.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

bass: and now that Trump is in, they decided to ratchet it up

Because they are afraid of tough Trump, right? And they didn't do that under Obama because he was weak, right?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Both of them are very entertaining.

Crazy: "Wow.  The crazy leader of North Korea has a better mastery of the English language than the average deplorable"

Wow.  You just dissed a quarter of the U.S. voting population.   And,Crazy - psssst - Rocket Man's "mastery" of the English language is probably limited to "Dennis" and "Rodman."  He has interpreters.

Oh my...

Hydrogen Hillary Clinton Calls Trump's UN Speech "Dark and Dangerous"- What a Hoot!

One eighth to be correct. Not a stretch of the imagination when you hear the noises made at a Trump rally. It sounds like a zoo.

A bit of ametuer psychology here, but I think these two need to get a room.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Hail President Trump! At last we have a strong leader!

Trump is not my leader and he is not the leader of Japan.

And why do you insist on using neo-nazi glorifications of him?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Why do we have to wait for NK to attack us first, pray tell?

Who is us? I live in Japan; where do you live?

This is precisely the way wars are sold. By fact free dire warnings, insecurities and falsehoods.

Don't let the hawks win with their lust for war.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Because they are afraid of tough Trump, right?

It's not Trump they should be worried about, on the other hand the F-35s and the B-1 and B-2 bombers, he most definitely should be.

And they didn't do that under Obama because he was weak, right?

We already went through this, irregardless of Obama being a weak-spine president.

please go sit on your own head and think about this topic.

I think the left need to do that in all honesty.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

on the other hand the F-35s and the B-1 and B-2 bombers, he most definitely should be.

What will Trump do about the 25 million people with no government? Can the US military get along with the Chinese military (and they will be involved!). What is Trump's plan after the bombing?

People (and it is the Republicans most recently like in Iraq) who don't understand history so much think we just bomb and everything will be fixed by itself. And (...F-35s and the B-1 and B-2...) it is evident Trump voters think this.

Only brave N. Koreans can shut the mouth of Psychopath fatty Kim Jong-un for the sake of their country and N.Korean peoples before God* punish him. .

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The people you see in the photographs  clapping, laughing, taking notes etc. are high level dupes and would defect to the west when chance presents itself. Kim Jong Un is an sadistic maniac and will launch a nuclear tipped missile soon and all hell will be unleashed. He must be stopped now regardless of the consequences.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Enough of the words, time to turn North Korea in to a huge glass lake. No need to use nukes, just drop MOABs from one end of the country to the other end.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"I think the diss "dotard" trumps"rocket man."

Nah, Rocket Man trumps dotard.
