Unfortunately our mate Harry has done soiled the reputation and legacy of his own family, so I don’t think getting King Charles dial on any money is going to be a good sell to anyones camp. Just the reality of the times. Sorry Queen Elizabeth!

Charles was already widely regarded as a tosser. Nothing Harry did or didn't do had any effect one way or the other.

wallace, that is quite an achievement,. especially the presentation from my favorite Royal late Prince Philip.

How times change.

King Charles 3 had no part in that part of history.

It's part of his history and nothing can change that !

It's his lineage .

Maybe he can't change the past, but he will certainly change the future, as his mother did. As for the term lineage, most mature adults don't blame others for their ancestors wrong doing. It's now 2023, not the 1930's.

No one wants to see the faces of people responsible for stealing indigenous people's lands, placing them on reservations, and isolating them in ghettos.

King Charles 3 had no part in that part of history. It was the late Queen Elizabeth 2, who helped restore land and right an injustice.

WA should make a beeline for Independence.

ha ! Good luck with that

The Duke of Edinburgh's Awards.

I did that when I was a young teen. Bronze, Silver, and Gold (awarded by Prince Phillip himself).

Now taken over by Prince Edward.

I have praise for the scheme.

Indeed. Thats about the height of culture there. Outside Sydney and Melbourne, awful crass people.

Those from Perth, Fantastic. WA should make a beeline for Independence.

How about Dame Edna Everage ?

Left Wing Woke nonsense that they will regret. Let's see what they replace it with. Albanese won't be around long anyway. Weak.

Yes, that is fair enough, The Prince's Trust ranks equal to the The Duke of Edinburgh's Awards.

Both inspire to create and achieve.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

I don’t know what Charles has achieved.

The Princes Trust is one good example of achievement.

Actually King Charles has achieved a lot in his life. He just does not make a big song and dance about it,

I’ve always thought getting your face on a banknote should be reserved for those who made outstanding contributions in their particular fields.

In my lifetime, I’ve seen Newton, Darwin, Shakespeare, Adam Smith, Nightingale etc. on UK banknotes.

I don’t know what Charles has achieved.

Hear! Hear! The man hasn't done or achieved anything worthy of having his face plastered anywhere. It's a waste of taxpayers' money to print out new banknotes. Leave her late Majesty's face on; she looks more distinguished anyway.

I must admit I have always been a supporter of Monarchy.

Since Queen Elizabeth II shook off this mortal coil, Monarchy has lost its mojo.

Hapless Harry along with the Duke of York handy Andy has highlighted the cracks.

King Charles III, brought more baggage than concord could carry, with Camilla, sorry to be vulgar and rude is akin to a mistress that cannot ever escape their own perfidy to Princess Diana,

“There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded,"

The majority of Australians still want the monarchy for the head of state.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Missed a opportunity for Australian bank notes to honor true Australian royally.

Dame Edna Everage....

“You mustn't judge Australia by the Australians.”

Oh yes

2 ( +5 / -3 )

For everybody's information, the monarch has only appeared on British bank notes since 1960. Hardly ancient tradition, though I think this all smacks of lefty wokery.

Koala or kangaroo would have been better...

The use of an indigenous design by the occupiers is cultural appropriation as well as cultural colonialism.

I must ask how- are indigenous Australians not Australian?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

It’s not only woke nonsense, first of all it’s very disrespectful and out of rational limits. Look at your country, its fast development, big economy, technology, big cities of global significance, wealth etc. Who made that astonishing development possible , the British Empire and the crown, or your few indigenous people? Nothing against them, they have once also developed a society and culture, but surely nothing or almost nothing of the current one, every citizen is affected by.

A new Indigenous design will replace the previous portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II,

Sorry, could not help throwing that one into the mix.

Kumagajin Not his marriage fella, his behavior.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Good move, symbolic really and that's all.

Cash only made up 7% of transactions in Australia (2022) and is tipped by some to be close to extinct by 2025. I don't even remember the last time I even saw a $5 note except for this picture!

I doubt Harry's actions have anything to do with it, but you seem to be implying that his marriage has everything to do with it. Charles is no angel, and the same goes to his brother Prince Andrew. Regardless, I hope the Canadian government makes the same decision, although Trudeau will do what the elites tell him to do. He has no mind of his own. He is just a puppet.

Looks like the Aussies will remove the head of another Charles. This story missed the 374th anniversary by a few days.

But then again, neither is Crocodile Dundee or whoever else they're planning to replace him with.

A new Indigenous design will replace the previous portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Australia's Reserve Bank said, a move which honors “the culture and history of the First Australians.” Per the article.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The original purpose of putting the monarch's face on the currency was to inspire confidence in the monetary system. Seeing as Charles isn't overseeing Australia's finances, it's somewhat understandable. But then again, neither is Crocodile Dundee or whoever else they're planning to replace him with.

Jimizo....

I don’t know what Charles has achieved.

Well, good father.... er..... wonderful husband.... er.... OK, his mum was the Queen!
