The picture of the four siblings sporting a theatrical display of dubious fruit salad medals is a pointed reminder to the plebs of the nature of power resting on the menace of military might which, blessed by the church, affords an aura that still smacks of the divine right of kings, but after ten days of this Ruritanian pomp and pageantry in putting the queen to rest, the people of the UK will wake up with a lingering hangover to anxiously face a winter of discontent brought to them by their "betters", the usual looney tunes suspects who run the whole shambolic which now poses a threat to the future integrity of the UK.

"But some people alas have neither grace, curtesy [sic] or manners."

It seems the poster has misspelt the word 'courtesy'...and probably has been confused with the word, 'curtsy' but there is no need for despair, as we have all done it!

Well done the United Kingdom.

Charles has been waiting this day for 50 years, his temper shown how annoying he was being.

Agreed, englisc aspyrgend. I think it is a beautiful ceremony to remember someone who was beloved and who has passed on. That people are willing to wait up to 24 hours just to pass by the coffin and say a prayer says a lot about how much the Queen meant to the people. I am neither British nor someone who pays attention to the goings-on of the British monarchy, yet I also wish I could be there to say a prayer for the late queen. To think of everything she witnessed in her long life and long reign...

What Charles and the other soldiers and staff are doing is the act of ‘guarding’ the dead queen’s corpse

Notice they are facing outwards not inwards

Respect for the dead, both public and private. Not only the loss of a respected monarch but also a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

But some people alas have neither grace, curtesy or manners.

I cannot stop thinking of Princess Diana when I see all this going down.

What I see isn't the military or "state", but a family greiving for their lost mother and grandmother. That is always tough, even when you know it is coming. After all, nobody gets out of here alive. Nobody.

Just look at all those medals! They must be the bravest siblings in the UK.

Many military medals are for showing up and not causing problems for your unit.

All those medals that the royal family wear , dishonor those that really earned their medals in service of their country.

Of course some members of the royal family can wear their medals with honor having served properly in the military, but not all.

Just look at all those medals! They must be the bravest siblings in the UK.
