Burning BushToday 07:11 am JSTWho's provoking who?

Imagine if NK and China held invasion drills off the coast of California.

Why would they? Is there some country next to California that lives in daily fear of being attacked by California?

Here it is folks. The Kim's are many things. Ego centric, juvenile delinquents, one thing they aren't, are martyrs. The current incarnation of stupidity running NK, just like his father and grandfather before him live the life of luxury like few others in the world do, and do so in a horrifically poor nation where 1/3rd of the population is actually starving. They have shown time and time again that it is their luxuries and power that they crave, neither of which mean a tinkers dam if they decide to nuke anyone.

Kim is a young man, he has got another ~45-50 years as "dear leader" and he isn't going to do anything that actually threatens that long life of luxury and wealth. He and his team of complicit military leaders who also live as princes among a population of paupers know the second they use a nuke on anyone, all of NK gets glassed over and their nation and lives of uncommon luxury end.

NK's motivations are clear to anyone who bothers to look and it has always mystified me that we are so bent out of shape about NK getting nukes when we don't care a whit about Pakistan having them, a nation that actively fosters terrorism world wide and hid Osama Bin Laden for years.

These drills are a good decision. Only complete denuclearization of NK is acceptable now, so unfortunately this is looking like the end of NK as they are unwilling to negotiate

NK has their drills, and SK has their drills

It's not SK's fault that NK doesn't have any friends to drill with

As far as we the kept-in-the-dark public know. Who knows what support and weaponry their friends in China and Russia are providing them.

Sort of reminds me of the US buildup in 1962, a game of nuclear chicken in which the Soviets and Cubans backed down. I never expected to see this kind of Cold War brinksmanship again in my lifetime...

LOL.... so tensions "rise" suddenly. Meaning they were low before? Good grief, who writes these articles.

In the event, it is funny to see how many people fall for the Kabuki theater playing on the surface. Behind the scenes, it is obvious that Trump is putting pressure on China and that this is working.

Given your behind the scenes insight (knowledge of the deep state perhaps?), do you think Trump's also putting pressure on Russia and the Russian oligarchs continuing to do business with North Korea? Or do you think Putin's putting pressure on Trump? Behind the scenes, of course.

Which is exactly why the DPRK just launched their most advanced ICBM to date. Anyway, the DPRK is not going to start a war. The US, on the other hand, is building up to just that.

Senator Graham is increasing the drumbeat towards war.

Counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums.

Now that US senators are advising US military families to leave SK, its time to enjoy every day like it is your last.

@crazyjoe. 43.1 million Americans live in poverty. 40% of adults, 19% children in the US are obese. You mentioned 1/3 of NK are starving, how about America?

Oh we know they support NK - but they won't drill with NK

Amazing how many here are in agreement with NK propaganda against SK/US joint military exercises, but yet supports NK nuclear and missile test exercises as "defensive against US aggressive and colonial behavior".

Who had supported the DPRK's missile and nuke tests as "defensive?" If that's your take from my post, you clearly misunderstand.

Not screaming how much you are against something, is not the same as supporting something.

@halwick. Many posters live here. We have family. Many have experienced the world outside Fox/CNN. That is why we post. We probably all want peace. Don’t forget Japan was twice nuked and Tokyo massively firebombed. I think I have never met a person who has suffered from NK. I’m not religious, but some book says “love thy neighbours”. My neighbours just came to my entrance and gave me oden.

Do you imagine that Kim will be trustworthy ? The guy just had most of his own Family killed as he felt threatened by them. He's a nutter, plain and simple.
