FOX = Rupert Murdoch, Kremlin = Putin. Clash of the global media tycoons. Both sponsored Trump. Curious to see how this Faustian bargain turns out. Which devil wins this time?

Uh-oh, FOX. What a pickle you've found yourself in. You've rolled over and bought into Trump's bull puckey, hook, line, and sinker. But now one of your peeps has called out Putin on air for the lying, thieving, murdering thug he and the rest of the world knows him to be.

What do you do now? What. Do. You. Do?

Meanwhile, it seems Putin now wants to hop onboard the Post-Truth™ train along with Trump and his Howling Band of Loons.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Russia need not worry. The useful idiot will go ahead and apologize for all of America.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

The good guy bad guy hollywood style framing of politics in america is sadly pathetic. Approaching the issue from a position of superiority will not, has not and never will amount to any progress. It's basically a cycle of doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. The very definition of madness!!

Putin was always on the train, maybe even one of its conductors. Read Russia Today and other media outlets he owns. Read the posts to this board written by Russians.

apologize for all of America

I've long thought that among America's numerous anti-American groups the most anti-American were those made up of Republicans and other assorted rightists. I guess we should be grateful to Trump for making that clear. As Pogo might have said, 'We have met the enemy and he is them (Republicans and other assorted rightists').

The good guy bad guy hollywood style framing of politics in america is sadly pathetic.

Right claims Obama is the devil, satan, and the annointed one for eight years.

Right wins the presidency.

Presidency continues this behavior.

Right claims such behavior is pathetic.

Yep, it sure is.

Uh-oh, FOX. What a pickle you've found yourself in.

How so?

You've rolled over and bought into Trump's bull puckey, hook, line, and sinker. But now one of your peeps has called out Putin on air for the lying, thieving, murdering thug he and the rest of the world knows him to be.

They didn't roll over, that's CNN, they need the ratings and badly, was just looking at it, not good, not good, but if anyone thinks that O'Reilly or FOX is going to beg the Kremlin for forgiveness, it will be a very cold day in Moscow that it will never happen.

What do you do now? What. Do. You. Do?

Laaaaugh it off!

The Russians just have to bring up the body counts of past US presidents; they are all killers.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Yet again, the point floats by you. I'm starting to see a pattern.

What, that you want the left to not do what you guys just did for eight years?

I actually agree, it would be better. But with no acknowledgement from the right of having done so, and that it was wrong, there is a LOT of residual anger on the left, and it's not going to suddenly stop.

Fox won't apologize, but Trump might. That would force his followers to apologize as well, and that would be pretty funny.

Fox won't apologize

And shouldn't have to.

, but Trump might. That would force his followers to apologize as well, and that would be pretty funny.

Seriously?? When have you've ever known Trump to apologize for anything? Obama is still the apology guru.

@FredW The good guy bad guy hollywood style framing of politics in america

Saying others (not your side, of course) frame the complexities of global politics in terms of good guy/bad guy (binary) seems to me to be just another example of a binary way to frame things.

@RawBer The Russians just have to bring up the body counts of past US presidents; they are all killers.

In a turn-about-is-fair-play sort of way, add up all past US president's 'body counts' and compare them with how many Russians - his own people - Stalin had killed. All empires, including the Russian variants, have committed crimes against humanity. Only the most nationalistic and benighted think otherwise.

in its global dealings with allies and enemies, the US has always claimed a moral position as the leader of liberal democracy in a frequently amoral world... the Mayor of Trumpleton's statement that the US also has killers is not only an astonishing statement reflecting a complete lack of political nouse but it completely pulls the rug from under the notion that the US is or was guided by higher principals. Trump and Putin are similar in that they both lie endlessly to crush the meaning out of any legitimate truth....

@bass When have you've ever known Trump to apologize for anything?

Below is a description by the OSS (a 1940s US spy agency) of a German leader who shall not be named.

His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

Personally I don't think these traits are ones that should be respected, particularly in a leader of a country with a nuclear arsenal. They sound to me like traits normally used to describe a psychopath or someone who's narcissistically impaired.

Trump owes Putin and all of Russia a big apology here. It's shocking that Trump would allow the media to so blatantly disparage and insult his political patrons like that. Trump is walking on thin ice and Putin may have to put him back in line if this behaviour continues

"Uh-oh, FOX. What a pickle you've found yourself in. You've rolled over and bought into Trump's bull puckey, hook, line, and sinker."

Um, I would think you liberals would be pleased with Bill's comments since the Democrats have been demonizing the Russians since they lost the election. Oh well, can't please some people no matter what you say or do.

Oh my...

Fox vs Putin is like Melania vs Daily Mail. Battles that sane people (most of the rest of the world) cannot lose! Great news!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Well, at least the genius Congresswoman Maxine Waters called out Putin for continuing to advance on, uh, Korea.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is another example of how brilliant and clever the great elected representatives of the great nation of the United States of America are.

them with how many Russians - his own people - Stalin had killed.

Putin is the subject today.

I actually agree, it would be better. But with no acknowledgement from the right of having done so, and that it was wrong, there is a LOT of residual anger on the left, and it's not going to suddenly stop.

Sure. But we must start the healing otherwise there truly won't be much progress.

The Kremlin is indignant

that it can't assassinate Bill O' Reilly?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Trump didn't disagree with O'Reilly

And if Trump is to be believed

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@PT them with how many Russians - his own people - Stalin had killed.

@FredW Putin is the subject today.

You're switching subjects. I was responding to RawBeer's defensive comment in support of Russia. If you want to bring up the subject of 'body counts' directly attributed to Putin during his era, you know full well that can never be determined with any sense of reliability. Putin-phobes will count the deaths of those who opposed him in business and politically, Putin-philes will say his hands are clean. Both sides will say the same things about the military engagements in Chechnya, Georgia, The Ukraine and Syria.

Russians have more class, their media never called Bush or Obama killers despite their piles of dead bodies in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Neither Russians called Hillary a killer, though she killed Seth Rich and several other people who knew her dirty secrets.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

If Putin doesn't like being called a killer, he should stop killing people who get in his way.

Never liked O Rielly. Trumps response was classic. Ukriane is building up its army on the border of Donbass and such. No coincidence that MaCain, Kerry and another neocon visited Kiev. They really want to start something. Pathetic warmongers. I'm sure Hillary would have rejected Putin and green lighted WW III.

Wait! I'm confused, who are we talking about now? Obama? Trump or that German guy?

Billy boy is just ignorant about his own government's doing. It shows the level of hypocrisy from the CIF to the journalists to the average joe. That's the American way.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I wonder why the leftists haven't praised Trump for his candid comments in that O'Reilly interview, heck, if Obama had said that, they'd be showering their idol with praise.
