And then there were eight. The chapter is slowly closing on the Greatest Generation. RIP, LCDR Langell. Thank you for your service. I trust your wife Elizabeth welcomed you as you completed your final voyage, one that carried you from this world to the next.

Wow what a long and rich life he had. His experience on December 7th 1941 must have been etched permanently into his mind. Must have been horrible to lose some many of his friends and shipmates in just minutes.
