This is just morbid. First they whip her like a dog, let her simmer in her pain, then plan to stone her to death. These kinds of atrocities against humanity are reason enough to effect a regime change in Iran.
Pestronika
I assume you mean the neo-con style regime change with a military intervention? Killing a bunch of people and causing misery and heartbreak is not the way to go. The US has a bad history of interventionism in Iran anyway.

Pestronika...you assume too much. I think a simple assassination might do the trick.

This is a society some don't worry about possessing nukes. Truly barbaric and not trustworthy on the global scale. But I'm not into interfering with their internal business. Let them prove themselves barbarians.

I've been following this for quite some time now. Iran is digging itself deeper and deeper in trouble. This case has become purely political. A few months back due to international pressure they decided Not to Stone her but hang her instead. Every man who has lashed her or ordered her lashing should be given 99 lashes in return. There policies and religion are inhuman, unjust and most of all barbaric. If you haven't watched this film please do :The Stoning of Soraya M. - I am anti-Iran(current) not anti-Islam!

Yes, we know that you and your friends have wanted regime change all along; the alleged nuclear weapons program (for which there is NO evidence) is just an excuse.
Of who? I hope you don't mean Ahmadinejad; he has nothing to do with this case.
Yeah truly barbaric how they treat one adulteress. But I can think of one regime (no, make that two) that is infinitely more barbaric and they already possess lots of nukes.

It's hard to believe that things like this still happen in this day and age.
Helter_Skelter
Good point. Hard to believe there are those who still don't get why Iran's nuclear program needs to be leveled.
sabiwabi
Why would anyone want to level their nuclear power plants. There is no evidence of a nuclear weapons program.
manfromamerica
It's the Islamic Middle East, so it shouldn't be a surprise.
Normal people realize Iran should never be allowed to develop nuclear power.

Russia and China.

I find it very difficult to believe that Japan still hangs people. That is only marginally better than stoning one to death. Japan - Iran. Big difference in society, minimal difference in carrying out sentencing. Hmmmm....

Thank god I am not Iranian, or even worse to born a woman in such a horrible, backwards country. Poor Israel has to have these morons in Teheran as the "nice" neighbors?? I hope one day the good Iranian people raise up against their dictators dressed in "holy gowns" and give them a real good taste of what the common man and woman are suffering, like stoning all of these stupid ayatolas to death.
Seamus78
A lot of you missed the POINT - this article is about saving an innocent woman's life. Stoning, lashes, abuse and may other inhumane acts towards women happen in Iran. And please don't tell me its their religion, their religion is a barbaric mutated version of Islam.
Come on - look at the US and China too. Now look at the execution cases that Japan has had over the years - Evil men, child killers and so on
This is about saving a human being for not doing anything remotely wrong.
Think about every man and woman that you have know who has committed adultery and now think of them Dead - NOT NICE Eh and especially if they are innocent
YuriOtani
This is not about relativism or local government control. Basic human rights are granted under international laws and customs and agreements signed by all countries under the United Nations. They are a member of the UN and thus need to follow its laws and treaties. Typhoon_Tom, Japan will not hang someone for adultery, it is not even a crime.

Let the one who throws the first stone be without sin.

That's not quite true, about it not being a crime. If you have sex with a married person, their spouse can sue you and get quite a lot of money from you; be careful. BTW, I did not learn this from personal experience.
BTW, wasn't she also accused of murdering her husband?
Seamus78
Murdering her Husband....bah, forced confession to give them an excuse to murder her.
