Will the CCP be sending food to starving North Koreans? Or is it just communist propaganda?

My guess is yes, but very probably not through benevolence.

The last thing China wants is a destabilized North Korea with refugees flooding over the border.

Winnie the Pooh openly supports authoritarian regimes and dictatorships. China will always be on the wrong side of history. Will the CCP be sending food to starving North Koreans? Or is it just communist propaganda?

Well of course! North Korea needs China for survival. Without China, North Korea won’t last. The North Korean regime really exists so the citizens won’t overthrow the government.

North Korea failed in their quest to unite the peninsula under Communist rule and was spared total defeat only due to Chinese intervention on their behalf. These two also fought together against the Japanese earlier.

A friend is one who has the same enemies as you have.

@Tobia, please don't call either of those men 'Winnie The Pooh'. Winnie is a beloved Canadian icon.

Any love letters exchanged? I wonder if the American pen-pal is still writing, trying to find a secret encounter somewhere.

China has to support NK and I think that is good to keep all that money away from direct Chinese military expenditures. Without Chinese food and other support, NK would collapse. The question is how many NK people died of starvation first.

More similar than most realize.

These countries actually took Trump seriously, unlike the way they treat the current US administration.

I suspect they were more worried about the crazy man in DC doing something bad. There's a difference between being taken seriously and being fearful of an idiot with control over nukes.

It's all in the rhetoric, Kim talk's in terms of being a fixed stand and Xi talked about providing happiness by controlling the strategic dialogue. Given the treaty of 1961 between the two states NK has no need for a nuclear weapons program and it's obvious that the Chinese are using the North Korean's purely to generate conflict and couldn't give a damn about the suffering of its population resulting from the sanctions that they've incurred because of the hostile platform that they're embarcing towards their neighbours.

Umm, its not exactly a revelation. Anyone who has read any world news story for the past few decades knows this fact.

Consider for a moment the reason North Korea pursues nuclear weapons is that they do not fully trust China or Russia to come to their aid in an emergency. Kim Il Sung had strong disagreements with Mao and detested Nikita Kruschev and Leonid Brezhnev, but especially Kruschev. Kim demanded Mao make the removal of US forces from Korea a pre-condition for normalizing US-China relations. When Mao refused Kim views Mao as an enemy. After the USSR abandoned Vietnam when China invaded in 1979, refusing to honor their defense commitment to them, North Korea realized they needed to be able to deter anyone independent of anything China or Russia may or may not do. North Korea's nuclear arms actually present China with a huge problem as those nuclear arms greatly complicate China's relations with North Korea and its neighbors.

They are doing that already. Aid from the CCP is what keeps NK afloat.

I am referring to 1930’s to 1953. They were friends and partners. You’re going way back to at least 1700- 2400 years.

Great pic of Trump's long-time business partner and the guy he sent love letters to...

All it needs is Donald in the middle, with his arms around his two best buds...

This is hilarious!

No it is a fact.

Excellent opportunity now for this administration to connect more with Kim, through Hunter's relationship with China's elite. Lots of briefcases going back and forth, and maybe a painting will be part of the deal.

Leaders of North Korea, China vow to strengthen ties

Such an announcement was unthinkable during the Trump administration. These countries actually took Trump seriously, unlike the way they treat the current US administration.
