“Leading Republican officials on Wednesday sought to ignore Donald Trump's formal step into the 2024 presidential contest, insisting there were more pressing priorities”

Ivanka said the same thing!

Sununu said of Trump. "It’s really an announcement from a defensive position.

Trump may not acknowledge that he was responsible for MAGA Republican candidates' dismal showing, but he obviously feels the pain of losing prestige and attention. Announcing a presidential bid at this point is the equivalent of Kim Jong Un firing some missiles into the sea. It's all about getting attention.

Hey, that’s not fair! Madison “key bump” Cawthorn slithered out of oblivion to attend.

Sadly, “weather sissies” precluded Matt “venmo?” gaetz from attending even though it didn’t stop a disabled guy from traveling the same DC-FL flight.

Treason Barbie seems like she’s out. Daddy must be bad for her “brand.”

EVEN DJTJ couldn’t make it. Seems he was hunting and couldn’t get back in time, lol. Well, at least we know the Trump “campaign” has its logistics squared away (oh, the wifi at Mara-lardo didn’t work either…

“We just finished this election. People need to chill out a little bit on some of this stuff, I mean seriously,” DeSantis said.

Dig.

How long until Trump starts claiming Disantos stole the election through election fraud?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Ron de Sanctimonious knows Trump has a huge amount of dirt on him and his background that can be released when Don wishes. Of course he wants to hide out in Florida and not talk up his run for President - he'll be running scared soon!

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Declining to say the former president's name,

He Who Shall not be Named even amongst his own party.

America's two parties have little to offer the American people、and pro wrestling style drama can be very distracting.

How long until Trump starts claiming Disantos stole the election through election fraud?

well, make up your mind, Dotard: was it China or DeSanctimoneous?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Multiple reports backed by camera feeds say people were trying to leave mid-screed, but were prevented from doing so by sec.

What a low-energy (not even worthy of capitalization) Dotard, lol.

“We built the wall, and now we will add to it. Now, we built the wall, we completed the wall, and then we said let's do more, and we did a lot more. And we did a lot more.”

Lol get your checkbooks out, it’s donation time.

Florida is made up of mostly Old Republicans, and people from the 3rd world, not a reflection of America

Sadly, “weather sissies” precluded Matt “venmo?” gaetz from attending even though it didn’t stop a disabled guy from traveling the same DC-FL flight.

Would you want your daughter sitting next to Mike Gaetz on a flight? No surprise that he finds it hard to get flights.

As was proven during the mid-terms, Repubs and even members of MAGA-world are sick and tired of Trump....

They've seen the same old song played over the past two years; "It was rigged!", when his own Repub staff say he admitted to losing, he's lost in court 61 times trying to prove it, and his own attorney Giuliani admitted twice there was no fraud and no evidence....

Even MAGA-world can see a con-job when it's repeated enough...

But his lust for money acquired from grifting his supporters and his deep narcissistic personality disorder will make him "burn it all down"....

And that's exactly what he'll do - just like in 2018, 2020, and 2022, he'll sink any chance of Repubs winning at any level....

Not sure? Just ask MAGA losers Mehmet Oz, Kari Lake, Blake Masters, and Tudor Dixon.....or RINO winners Ron Desactimonious, Mike DeWine, Brian Kemp, and Brad Raffensberger...

One Trump supporter has already said he'll "take out" DeSantis....tomorrow we'll no doubt hear from some DeSantis supporter threatening Trump...

This is the sewer that is MAGA-world…

“The blood-soaked streets of our once-great cities are cesspools of violent crimes.”

USA! USA!

“The cities are rotting, and they are indeed cesspools of blood.”

USA! USA!

By the way, doesn't Donald have a residence in one of these cesspools?

I like the part about how he wildly mistated the timeline and effects of climate change, IN FLORIDA, lol.

And of course he now has the trifecta of abolition of abortion rights, being anti-gay and a climate change denier (in addition to being mum on school shootings) to piss off the youth vote.

It was the largest youth vote turnout in history (or close to it) and it swung Dem +27.

Way to win them back on side, Don. lol So. Much. Losing.

These things we can pretty confidently predict:

Donald Trump cannot win the general election.

Donald Trump cannot win the GOP nomination.

Donald Trump will blow up the GOP nominee's chances of winning the general.

The GOP will not win the presidency.

It appears that all is not well on the money front in Trumpistan, with Ronald Lauder from Estee Lauder, Steven Schwartzman from Blackstone and Ken Griffin from Citadel all making comments like:

'America does better when its leaders are rooted in today and tomorrow, not today and yesterday,' Schwarzman, the head of Blackstone Group, told Axios after Trump announced his intentions to run again Tuesday night at Mar-a-Lago.

'It is time for the Republican Party to turn to a new generation of leaders and I intend to support one of them in the presidential primaries,' Schwarzman said.

He doesn't even have his daughter on board:

Ivanka Trump sent out a statement Tuesday night, explaining her absence: she would not be having anything to do with the 2024 campaign.

'I love my father very much. This time around, I'm choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family,' the former White House adviser said. 'While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.'

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11436621/Three-billionaires-DUMP-Trump-two-days.html

I can anticpate the usual Trump cultist reaction, probably something like:

"Who cares, he's a billionaire, lol"

Trumpistan! LOL! LOVE IT!

Nice one Simon!!

The problem is that the right has a deranged elephant in the room, and no elephant trainer.

Just like McDonald's, I'm loving it.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Ivanka writes a nice letter, but lets all be real, she's still waiting to see if she faces charges from her father's presidency. Probably too scared to potentially rack up more (which would be a smart fear).

Trump is finding out a week is a long time in politics.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Can you imagine that - Trump announces he is running for President in 2024…when just the day before ONE OF TRUMP'S OWN TOP AIDES said “This is a sinking ship” after the mid-term MAGA shellacking….

"This is a sinking ship," one top Trump adviser told ABC News. "We're not going to beat that."

Trump’s speech was full of exaggerated and false talking points.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/nov/16/donald-trump-speech-false-exaggerated-talking-points

Ivanka Trump has said she won’t be part of the campaign and is done with politics.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Trump’s speech was full of exaggerated and false talking points.

It was one continuous lie (or actually a whole butt-load of lies told consecutively) from "What a huge crowd" to "Thank you all for coming, good night."

And doesn't Don look happy to be there? With that glower.... The glow of over-applied pancake makeup.... The vagi-waddle neck?

If I didn't know better, I would guess (from his expanding gut) that he is pregnant, he looks so happy.

Must be constipation.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Ivanka Trump has said she won’t be part of the campaign and is done with politics.

She's probably hoping her last stint doesn't end up with her in jail with her dad.

How Trump has ruined the pathetic GOP..

Trumpistan, LOOOOOOL !!!..

2 ( +3 / -1 )

It would be a dream for the Democrats to run against Trump. Trump will lose big time if he runs again.

NY Post at the VERY BOTTOM of the front page: "Florida Man runs for president pg. 26"

That's some serious shade, there.

Things are getting even more comical and awkward over at Fox...

*The Fox News empire’s dramatic dumping of Donald Trump appears to be in full swing, and that has resulted in some potentially awkward on-air interactions. Case in point: when *Lara Trump, a Fox News paid contributor, appeared Wednesday morning on Stuart Varney’s FBN show and was told point-blank that her father-in-law doesn’t have the goods anymore.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/fox-host-tells-lara-trump-182411791.html

This after former Trump-groveler Laura Ingraham said; “The populist movement is about ideas. It is not about any one person,” Ingraham said. “If the voters conclude that you’re putting your own ego or your own grudges ahead of what’s good for the country, they’re going to look elsewhere. Period.”

Then Murdoch's NY Post ran an editorial from veteran columnist John Podhoretz who dubbed the former president “Toxic Trump.” Podhoretz wrote that Trump was “the political equivalent of a can of Raid” and “perhaps the most profound vote repellent in modern American history.”

As every Repub will admit, if you can't win at Fox, you can't win...

The MAGA-meltdown continues...

5 ( +5 / -0 )

It would be a dream for the Democrats to run against Trump. Trump will lose big time if he runs again.

I don't think it matters who the leader is. For the coming Republican civil war, that will take roughly 1.5 years before they determine who wins, they will be doing their best to out-MAGA each other, and tear each other down. Instead of playing further into the right-wing's Fear Media generated culture war. What they won't be doing is coming up up with policy that can actually benefit the American people. By the election, it will be 20 years since the American people gave Republicans the popular vote. They have lost the past three elections in a row, and the last two they were trounced, due to people being sick of their toxic politics, and lack of policy. Two more years of them ripping each other apart, then turning that anger on the Democrats, coming from a position where they are already found to be extremely distasteful by the people, isn't exactly a winning strategy.

The only way the Republicans win the next election is if the sane ones manage to wrest control back quickly, and put Trump down, then they come up with sane, conservative policies that the moderates can get behind.

Leading Republican officials on Wednesday sought to ignore Donald Trump's formal step into the 2024 presidential contest, insisting there were more pressing priorities as GOP leaders grappled with the fallout of a major midterm disappointment

If the GOP focus hard enough, and pretend they are a serious party hard enough, do they think Trump will go away?

This is going to be funny.

Murdoch is really turning the knife into Trump - in today's NY Post....

New York Post buries Trump 2024 launch: 'Florida Man Makes Announcement'

The New York Post took another jab at Donald Trump on Wednesday, burying the launch of his 2024 White House bid on page 26 of the former president’s favorite tabloid inside a brief column attributed to Post staff was dripping with sarcasm.

“With just 720 days to go before the next election, a Florida retiree made the surprise announcement that he was running for president,” the column began. “In a move no political pundit saw coming, avid golfer Donald J. Trump kicked things off at Mar-a-Lago, his resort and classified-documents library.

“Trump, famous for gold-plated lobbies and for firing people on reality television, will be 78 in 2024,” it continued. “His cholesterol levels are unknown, but his favorite food is charred steak with ketchup.”

https://www.yahoo.com/news/new-york-post-trump-florida-man-makes-announcement-162902923.html

And the ketchup is no doubt REALLY flying a MAL....LOL...

GOB will split the GOP. Civil war coming.

Wow, that's a blistering report on a presidential candidate!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

No comments yet from Trump's loyal cadre of online followers. I suspect they're working out how they're going to switch to supporting DeSantis or whoever the money and Murdoch endorsement are heading to whilst still claiming Trump's their guy.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Leading Republicans aka: the establishment can ignore Trump all they want, he still maintains full control of his party and betting on DeSantis is a sketchy long shot as he never indicated even remotely of running and if he did, that would be very bad for Florida. Let’s see how it plays out. He’s got two years to plan, as long as he stays on message and focus on this admin disastrous and destructive socialist radical policies he has a very good chance of pulling this off as long as he doesn’t bring up the 2020 election he’s good.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

as long as he doesn’t bring up the 2020 election he’s good.

Oh, then he is sooooooo not good. He has never stopped talking about the 2020 election.

And it's not like the dems are ever going to forget that, and suddenly let it drop.

No, they'll be pointing out his election denial right to the 2024 ballot boxes, pointing out that this is another referendum on democracy.

Which, you guys lost already twice, and Trump has done nothing to bring on new people in regards to.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Nobody likes a loser. He has lost every election since 2016.

However, the sad fact for the GOP is that the primaries will turn into a run-off between Trump and DeSantis. DeSantis has a slight edge.

But then they end up with a dilemma - do they choose DeSantis and lose Trump's base? Or do they choose Trump and risk losing yet again.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Nobody likes a loser. He has lost every election since 2016.

And lets be real, it's not like the people actually wanted him in 2016 - he was trounced in the public opinion. The Republicans were just much better at gaming the system, and they got the FBI to open an investigation into Hillary a week before the election. Political genius, but you'd have to be as dumb as Trump to actually think that America and Americans actually wanted Trump.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

He’s got two years to plan, as long as he stays on message

What message? He’s just whining about the past, poor widdle me and how terrible America is. Not much of a platform.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

as long as he doesn’t bring up the 2020 election he’s good.

lol “Game over, man. Game over”

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Another two years of listening to Trump. The lies and exaggerations.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

the establishment can ignore Trump all they want, he still maintains full control of his party

He did until this past election. With those results, why would "establishment" Republicans (aka somewhat more reasonable people) put all their stock in Trump anymore? He's tainted goods, and he's gonna get a whole lot more tainted in the next couple of years.

Of course these establicans will have to walk a tightrope, moving away from Trump without hurting the MAGA base's feelings. They've invested a lot of emotional energy into their cult worship of 45. It's gonna take time deprogramming the MAGA zealots.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Oh, then he is sooooooo not good. He has never stopped talking about the 2020 election.

Well, you never know.

And it's not like the dems are ever going to forget that, and suddenly let it drop.

No, they won’t but they don’t have to because they’re not going to vote for him anyway, so what they think is pretty much irrelevant.

No, they'll be pointing out his election denial right to the 2024 ballot boxes, pointing out that this is another referendum on democracy.

Again, the Dems do what they do, the the GOP and Trump focus on Biden’s toxic policies. That’s a sure winner every time.

Which, you guys lost already twice, and Trump has done nothing to bring on new people in regards to.

Hmmm…

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

He did until this past election. With those results, why would "establishment" Republicans (aka somewhat more reasonable people) put all their stock in Trump anymore? He's tainted goods,

Some would say that particularly the establishment, and?

and he's gonna get a whole lot more tainted in the next couple of years.

How? Worse than what the Dems have done over the last 7 years?

Of course these establicans will have to walk a tightrope, moving away from Trump without hurting the MAGA base's feelings.

We want them to walk away, really.

They've invested a lot of emotional energy into their cult worship of 45.

Rightfully so

It's gonna take time deprogramming the MAGA zealots

No, that would be the progressive socialist, god willing.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

How? Worse than what the Dems have done over the last 7 years?

Oh yes, thank you for reminding us that you still believe Trump actually won in 2020, and that the people actually wanted him in 2016.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

he has a very good chance of pulling this off as long as he doesn’t bring up the 2020 election he’s good.

That's so comical it sounds like something that could have come from Colbert, Fallon, or Jon Stewart...

Trump stop whining about his so-called "rigged" election when he's done nothing but for two whole years?

All the while his own top aides have said he admitted losing in private....he's lost 61 times in court....and Giuliani has fessed up that "this is not a fraud case" and "we just don't have any evidence"....

Trump giving up on his "loser" obsession has about as much chance as him giving up his porn-star and Top Secret document addiction...

2 ( +2 / -0 )

--Of course these establicans will have to walk a tightrope, moving away from Trump without hurting the MAGA base's feelings.

We want them to walk away, really.

Hate to break this to you, but the GOP needs every Republican vote it can get if it wants to win. The MAGA base is not enough to get the party over the top nationally, and in many purple areas.

Doug Mastriano, Dr. Oz, Adam Laxalt, Blake Masters, Tudor Dixon, Kari Lake, and other Trump-endorsed radical weirdos easily won the MAGA vote but couldn't convince traditional Republicans to join them.

Kari Lake took a dig at the late Sen. John McCain and told any of his supporters to "get the hell out". Look how well that worked.

Trump doesn't have that much sway anymore.
