MisterCreosote: "Sushi, mate, your fellow Australian...", "...Sushi, mate, for once you should be proud, as an Aussie,..."

I always find it amusing when Americans come onto a Japanese news site and try to undermine someone else's argument by claiming their nationality makes their arguments moot. You can do better, my friend. Try to be a little less insecure about your own nationality and give a little more evidence to back up your posts.

You seem to be against the leaks, but then cheer for them if they harm Obama. In other words, as superficial as usual.

Tim: "Transnational Mohammedan terror organizations are positively thrilled by his lack of engagement."

It's a shame they were handed the chaos to them by your former president. The current president can only try to clean up the mess (and not well when people like you fight him). It IS interesting to see you guys, who say you are against terrorism, fight the person who is trying to fight it. :)

Heh, I'm so glad I have other activities in my life.

"I can still hear Colin Powell screaming: "We have the proof!!!"

Gee, I thought he said "this is bullshit".

0 ( +0 / -0 )

they also show WMDs.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Of course if the US government didn't hand out top-secret (854,000) and secret (how many unknown) security clearances like tissues at a train station, they wouldn't have the leak problem in the first place.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I can still hear Colin Powell screaming: "We have the proof!!!". Waving with a pile of documents about WMD (which of course never were found) to justify waging a war. A war that killed thousands and thousands of people. This time it's WikiLeaks waving with documents and suddenly Washington is very concerned about the "lives of innocents". Or is the White House concerned about something else?

Well in his defense, george bush said he wasn't into nation building. He sure proved that in Iraq.

Many Iraqis and Afghans worry that obama is not interested in nation-building either. Transnational Mohammedan terror organizations are positively thrilled by his lack of engagement.

MisterCreosote, did your Canadian countrymen even support U.S. involvement in Iraq? Anyway, it's pretty sick to even be haggling over numbers. If your southern neighbors hadn't invaded to overthrow the dictator they once supported to find the WMD they sold him, none of this collosal waste of life would have occured.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The fact still remains, the invasion was illegal and a mistake, and once the US leaves -- be it now or McCain's 100 years from now -- it'll fall into chaos until some dictator like or worse than Saddam takes over. As with Iran, when the CIA support helped oust a leader and put in the Shah, history repeats itself. When will the US learn?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Go Assange! Go wikileaks ! Show the world that Obama is wrong and that as you have shown Iran is heavily involved in destabilizing liberated Iraq.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sushi, mate, for once you should be proud, as an Aussie, that your country has produced someone who is furthering the cause of development in such a backwards part of the world. Good on Julian Assange! is what I say.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sushi, mate, your fellow Australian Julian Assange has destroyed the myth that 600 000 iraqis had been killed by 2004. Dude is fast becoming a hero on conservative and libertarian blogs.

Honesty is the best policy.

Superlib, ask MisterCreosote. It's hard to find many people more anti-American than him/her.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Looks like the Iraq war outrage just doesn't generate as much attention as it used to. What will the future hold for anti-Americans?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

America will rebound from this. They will start a "USA" chant, or sing "God Bless America" or something.

Pretty funny to see MisterC struggling to attempt to claim the U.S. found the WMD.

We all know the bush administration was straining at the edges to find them for years and came up with every other 'discovery' (including freaking helium balloons) to claim they had found them.

There's no way the 'discovery' of WMD MisterC posted above was bona fide.

The only rationale behind this 'discovery' being the real deal is they found 'Made in USA' stamped on them as part of the shipment the FBI sold Saddam via Reagan and Rumsfeld in 1980.

Too embarassing, and MisterC's 'claim' is even more so.

More so, the U.S. - which manufactured the gas they sold to Saddam to use on the Kurds [- YES, U.S. poison gas was used on the Kurds with U.S. satellite intel used to pinpoint their locations] knew its effectiveness was due to expire in the very early 890s, around the time of the first Gulf war.

Saddam may have had some cannisters of poison gas by the time the 2003 invasion rolled around but it was dud.

And bush knew that - and yet still told the world Saddam had WMD.

MisterC needs to check some facts before posting any more spin.

MisterCreosote: while we can agree on -QA' MEMBERS trying to get hands on remaining bio-weapons and material, remember that -QA' MEMBERS weren't in Iraq prior to the invasion and we are still talking about mobile laboratories, stock pile of fresh WMDs, etc. So, not so relevant.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Geez, could we at least get the name of the lying Republican hack whose blogs you read?

It's called the Telegraph UK. Title of the article - -

"Will Barack Obama admit extent of Iran's role in Iraq, laid bare by WikiLeaks?"

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The site warlogs dot wikileaks dot org can be reached via the Wired article I mentioned above, which any semi - literate owner of a computer should be able to find

has some interesting stuff - - - foreign chem weapons specialists entering Iraq . Docs in the original

APPROXIMATELY TEN UNIDENTIFIED MEN ENTERED FROM ON . THE TEN UNIDENTIFIED MEN ENTERED TO SUPPORT THE CHEMICAL WEAPONS OPERATIONS OF E. (FIELD COMMENT -- THE CHEMICAL OPERATIONS OF E WERE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED AS QA' OPERATIONS, DIIR-----.) THE TEN UNIDENTIFIED MEN ARE CHEMICAL WEAPONS SPECIALISTS FROM AND ARE ALL DESCRIBED AS FOREIGNERS, NOT FURTHER IDENTIFIED. ( COMMENT -- THE MEN CAME FROM . NONE OF THE MEN ARE .) AT APPROXIMATELY 1500C , THE TEN UNIDENTIFIED MEN MET WITH E MEMBER (()) IN //: // . (FIELD COMMENT -- E MEMBER HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPORTED AS AN -QA' ___ MEMBER.)

smithinjapan: in google type the following sentence:

WikiLeaks Show WMD Hunt Continued in Iraq – With Surprising Results

The article contains some links.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Looks like the leak isn't going to provide much in terms of headlines. Oh well. What's on TV tonight?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Geez, could we at least get the name of the lying Republican hack whose blogs you read?

I guess pseudo-pacifist Julian Assange, in his rush to try and discredit the US, neglected to review his holdings.

Neglect to hide the truth? I think Assange just leaves hiding the truth up the Pentagon.

So let's see. You agree with having the truth buried, you think that exposing the whole truth is a matter of neglect, and you refuse to share your sources of information. If you don't already work for the U.S. gov, they may be looking for you!

MisterCreosote: "Read a little history on the region"

I don't even need to read beyond the article;

"Before the U.S.-led invasion, predominantly Arab Iraq was stronger militarily than Persian Iran, an old foe."

But hey, since you bring it up, clearly I know a lot more about the history than you do. But someone who can't be bothered to back up their claims with facts, I don't expect you to be able to refute that with any credibility. Your intolerance is mildly amusing, though, in how much it negates the validity of your 'arguments'.

MisterCreosote: "Because they are Mohammedan they are weak and divided."

So why bother invading?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Were they weak and divided before the illegal invasion?

Not very bright, are we. Because they are Mohammedan they are weak and divided. Before, and after regime change. Read a little history on the region.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"search for them yourself. I aint da gubmint, cant do everything for you."

Big surprise -- you can't back up your claims!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MisterCreosote: "Can you read?"

I can read just fine. It seems the article is referring to a time period AFTER the illegal invasion Iraq, which relates to my comment. Why can't you relate to the article, then?

So, back to your original, close-minded comment: "Weak and divided. And what, that makes Iraq different from any other Mohammedan nation in the region?"

Were they weak and divided before the illegal invasion? when they were not a democratic government forced by the US under bush?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

tumbledry - search for them yourself. I aint da gubmint, cant do everything for you.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MisterCreosote: I will be more than happy if you could provide me the documents you mention about stock piles/labs (old chemical munitions found doesn't count).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MisterCreosote: Seems your heroes at Wikileaks are inadvertently pushing for a longer US presence in Iraq...

Heroes? No. Whistle blower? Yes. News coming from major medias, Bush or Obama governments, etc are looking more like the one from former Iraqi information minister. Mission accomplished....

Wild! The Wikileaks documents reveal that US troops did in fact uncover chemical weapons and chem weapon labs in Iraq. I guess pseudo-pacifist Julian Assange, in his rush to try and discredit the US, neglected to review his holdings.

Wired magazine ("Danger Room") online has this - - " By late 2003, even the Bush White House’s staunchest defenders were starting to give up on the idea that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

But for years afterward, WikiLeaks’ newly-released Iraq war documents reveal, U.S. troops continued to find chemical weapons labs, encounter insurgent specialists in toxins, and uncover weapons of mass destruction."

I like this whole Wikileaks project !

Go Assange!

MisterCreosote: Right. These new Romans, they created the internet;they pioneered cable TV; they brought the world the cell phone; they let Michael Moore lecture their president before an int'l audience of millions watching the Academy Awards because they are all paranoid about the truth getting out.

Roman created concrete, linked Europe, created aqueducts networks, etc. Still, they failed at the end. I wouldn't sit on achievements to prove a civilization can't fail.

Some experts is not all of them. Other experts might well call this proof of a lost cause.

At any rate, what do you have against people knowing the truth? How are you inconvenienced?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Leaked Iraq war files portray weak, divided nation"

I had to do a double-take. I thought this was a reference to the USA in this context. I still maintain my skepticism of Wikileaks. Yes, the people need to know what's being done in their name, but it seems a bit too convenient when it fabricates "evidence" that fits in with warmongers' future plans, without benefit of independent verification. Smells of lutefisk to me.

And yet, murder, rape and pillage all seem acceptable, while condemning it is somehow cowardly. Proving beyond a shadow that Washington DC is 350sq. mi. surrounded by reality.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

smithinjapan:"So why did you illegally invade it?"

Can you read? The description refers to the following time period - -

"The reports, covering early 2004 to Jan 1, 2010, help explain why Iraq’s struggle to create a unified, independent state continues, despite a dramatic reduction in violence. They appear to support arguments by some experts that the U.S. should keep thousands of troops there beyond their scheduled departure in 2011,"

Seems your heroes at Wikileaks are inadvertently pushing for a longer US presence in Iraq...

sarge: "On Obama's watch?"

sarge, even the the shrub was still in power in the US people were saying this was going to happen; don't try to pawn it off on Obama. You could stay in Iraq for the 100 years McCain wanted and 100 years later it would still lapse into chaos. The same will happen in Afghanistan. That little purple fingerprint you brag about every few years is coming back to bite you hard, and now you are trying to blame it on Obama. Sad.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MisterCreosote: "Weak and divided. And what, that makes Iraq different from any other Mohammedan nation in the region?"

So why did you illegally invade it?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"the country could drift into chaos once U.S. forces leave"

On Obama's watch?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

So you admit, prolix as ever, that the US isn't a new Roman empire.

The internet and cable TV reach more people with the same mass messages than cell phones and Michael Moore. And its not JQP or Michael Moore that controls the mass messages of the internet nor cable TV nor even the TV news. I was in America before and after the invasion of Iraq began. I was sickened by the mass media's resignation that the invasion was unavoidable. I was further sickened by their near total lack of reporting anything negative, giving an impression of glory and justice only. I can't say if this was actual pro-war control by the few media moguls that own them, or just a desire to reap profit and viewers. Either way, the unfounded invasion of lies proceeded unhindered. Seven years this occupation has been going on. Lies, lies from the start. Any idiot can see that all that tech did not harm the brainwashing or continuation of the war profiteering. The money has been made, and no one will hang because of this leak. Finally knowing these truths won't change anything. The money won't come back and the richly earned executions will not take place. The best we can hope for is that Americans won't be such suckers for a little while longer than if the leak had not happened. I am guessing that will be about 25 to 30 years, about the time between the Fall of Saigon and the start of the Iraq Invasion. Of course that ignores the more minor but just as heinous actions between, as well as assume the First Gulf War had any merit.

America is the new Rome, and I think we might soon end up with an Emperor, if for no better reason than so that the conservatives can feel assured the dangerous truths won't get out.

Right. These new Romans, they created the internet;they pioneered cable TV; they brought the world the cell phone; they let Michael Moore lecture their president before an int'l audience of millions watching the Academy Awards because they are all paranoid about the truth getting out.

Weak and divided. And what, that makes Iraq different from any other Mohammedan nation in the region?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Divided? Yes. Weak? I don't think so. America is the new Rome, and I think we might soon end up with an Emperor, if for no better reason than so that the conservatives can feel assured the dangerous truths won't get out. Its only them that would remotely support the degree of cover-up that got exposed.

Just what Hydra have the American neo-conservationist around Wolfowitz created ... this believe of their own myths and overconfidence in Americas military powers is pathetic.
