Liar. Lock her up. Shoot her. GOP denounces Clinton

Lovely people. Just the sort you'd like to run your country. Compassionate conservatism. You just can't beat it.

14 ( +23 / -9 )

Comity. Free Hillary from blame/guilt and appoint hilarious Trump as the President of USA (by default).

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

"Liar. Lock her up. References to Lucifer. Shoot her for treason."

Come On! Melania has already thrown her speech writer under the bus. Call off the dogs.

The level of dementia Trump has inspired is the only unifying factor in the GOP-tea.

They're all crazy together so they don't seem crazy to each other.

Have no doubt, threats of physical violence of promoting violence is a dangerous ploy. The Trump Campaign is being investigated by the Secret Service as a Trump staff member is tied to threats against Secretary Clinton.

Since Trump's Campaign of hate began, violence has united its fans. Now they turn their irrational fears on the Democrats and, even at the level of Delegates at the RNC, one from West Virginia have called for a public hanging.

These Republicans Trump just made his btc, are a mixed bag of the unstable and ignorant who are always at the heart of every public danger. This is the band of reckless deviants who want to rule from Trump's Towering Inferno of Ego.

Liar. Lock her up. Shoot her.

It'll be

Impeach her.

Soon

How many American deaths did Jr Bush cause ? not to talk of the non American deaths. I guess it doesn't matter to these hypocrites.

"Convention speakers have “prosecuted” Clinton at a mock trial, accused her of being a serial liar and even linked her to the Devil himself."

Particularly hateful this time around. Stupidity and insanity come as standard.

The GOP does not belong in a civilised society.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

Wow! Hold the horses here JT! Liar, lock her up....yes, it was chanted. "Shoot her" was certainly NOT heard in the chant I heard. This is MSM at its finest discrediting one entire party of which only two are viable at the moment unjustly.

Fact check the accusations of Christie. Decide yourself. Dig a bit deeper than the surface of the media otherwise you won't find the truth.

Lock her up....yes. Anyone else would have been. Dig deeper to where the truth lies.

“They don’t understand why justice wasn’t done,” Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort said. “Frankly, that plays right into the narrative of why things need to change in Washington, because there’s special justice for some and it’s not equal justice.”

Mr. Manafort needn't worry.

Trump trial for fraud begins August.

Americans will see justice done and Trump will cast his vote from jail.

The Republican Party has zero policy ideas to offer. Attacking and defaming their opponent is all that they have so that is what they will do. Can you imagine if Hillary as president lied us into a middle east war that cost trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives, and that perpetuates more than a decade later through terrorist cells that sprung up? GWB did it and he still walks the streets. They want Hillary in prison for using the wrong e-mail server. The hypocrisy is stunning.

18 ( +24 / -6 )

I watched the whole speech live and heard no calls to 'shoot her' The question of whether she should be locked up for breaching national security is in no doubt. Unless, the law doesn't apply to her?

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

The GOP has become an unruly lynch mob with zero respect for justice and due process. Hate and bigotry drive them now.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Lovely people. Just the sort you'd like to run your country. Compassionate conservatism. You just can't beat it.

So when the DNC have their sleepy convention and ramp up their attacks, mostly personal at Trump and the GOP how is that different from what Dems are doing?

How many American deaths did Jr Bush cause ?

How many did Obama cause, in Afghanistan? Are we still talking about this?

not to talk of the non American deaths. I guess it doesn't matter to these hypocrites.

If we are going to talk and have a discussion about who's responsible then we need to get both Bush and Obama, that's if you care about being fair and most liberals don't care.

The Democrats are not fit for the presidency and not fit to lead in almost any political position, they should be regulated to Humanitarian causes and worry about hypothetical climate changes.

-22 ( +4 / -26 )

The GOP in not to the negativity/hate level the DNC is yet but it seems to be heading in that direction. What I don't understand is today police had to stop flag burning by the anti-Trumpers. Anti Trump, okay. Desecrating the flag, not acceptable.

It is said the GOP has no policy ideas. I will ask what policy ideas the DNC has? Realistic ideas only please. $15 minimum wage is not realistic. Besides, minimum wage are entry level positions not career positions. Either work harder, educate yourself or be poor relying on the hard working middle class.

-18 ( +4 / -22 )

It is said the GOP has no policy ideas. I will ask what policy ideas the DNC has?

Besides using the race card, mocking conservatives, taxing people out of existence, keeping them on the government dole, increasing entitlements, print more money, hand out more EBT cards, increase the food stamp program, increase welfare and unemployment benefits, make sure political correctness controls and rules our lives, lie, scheme, cheat, make excuses and blame others. Other than that, not much.

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

FBI officials called Clinton’s email practices “careless,”

Synonymous with incompetent.

-16 ( +5 / -21 )

As well as reckless.

-14 ( +5 / -19 )

As you know Bass at $20 Trillion in debt it's time the USA focuses on paying down the debt. I'll assume your personal finances are in order as are mine. Only the irresponsible get in trouble with over extending credit to bring it to a simpler level.

With Hillary's breech of protocols in handling sensative information will her security clearance be revoked? I know I would be looking for another job if I have done similar with my employer. No question.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Manafort even tried to blame Hillary Clinton for the controversy over Melania Trump lifting passages of her convention remarks from a speech that Michelle Obama delivered in 2008.

When a Campaign Manager is on hallucinogens anything is possible.

Lucifer, public hangings or lynch mobs.

More of the best of the best of the best of 'Donald J. Trump's American Freak Show! LIVE!'

How many American deaths did Jr Bush cause ?

Nearly not as many of Iraqi children from B Clintons sanctions. hypocrisy...yes.

This is MSM at its finest discrediting one entire party of which only two are viable at the moment unjustly.

No doubt.

It really doesn't matter what Hillary or the DNC party platform says. Some us know they will do the opposite if elected. Hope and Change...what a laugh

“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s greatest stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice.”

Martin Luther King, Jr., Letter from a Birmingham Jail

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

This is the GOP that tried to shut down the government based on principles.

Now that they see that they can't win on principles, they have chucked that whole schpiel and are grasping at straws in a bid to win at any cost.

I wonder what that cost will be. Clearly the GOP rank and file and hoi polloi have no idea whatsoever. And Trump is just getting started. Many party leaders have said that Trump's comments are racist, that he has no idea what is going on in the world, that he is a clown, and that he is wholly unqualified. And these are people who are former candidates for President, and former Presidents. They would know, right?

Every one of those GOP leaders needs to bail out of this train. Whether or not Trump gets elected, it is going to hit a wall, and there must be some sane GOP leaders to pick up the mess and provide loyal opposition and support the Republic.

As a connoisseur of train wrecks myself, I have to say that I am very much NOT looking forward to this one. This train is picking up speed and the collateral damage will be yuge.... YUGE.

What exactly are you talking about? The only hate I see and hear is from the left wingers.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Northernlife: Just another example of largest hate group the U.S. and they feel completely comfortable promoting hate, fear and stupid without a thought...

I guess you never heard of ISIS, La Raza (ie. The Race) or BLM.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Dr Carson made a very loose connection to lucifer concerning Hillary his connection was with Alinsky which Hillary has show a connection with. It seems Hillary has a degree of respect towards Alinsky.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Watching the GOP convention is like watching the people of an insane asylum pretending to hold a serious political convention. The things being said are insane. It is shameful.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

HilLIARy is a stain on America, much like Bill Clinton stain on Monica Lewinsky dress. HiLiary multiple lies can never be washed away. God forbid this woman become POTUS as her Bad Temperament and Power Madness will be trigger for WWIII. She stained America's image and risk bringing US to war with China or Russia. Trump is far more pragmatic and will not go messing in other countries frontyard. But this HiLiary woman like to smell napalm, muscular military power and despise weakness, thus she will be more likely to hit the Red Button and start using Tactical Nukes. She will be cheered on and mislead by US neocons, much like Bush was mislead by Vulcan people around him.

Anybody who think about voting for her should think twice. She is a very high risk POTUS unsuitable for this moment in history. Throw the vote to another third party, a kingmaker to tame both HiLiary and Trump.

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

"Dr Carson made a very loose connection to lucifer concerning Hillary his connection was with Alinsky"

Carson has very loose connections in his head and no connections to reality. He's talking about Lucifer at a party convention. I have visions of the heads in the audience spinning around while making whooping noises.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Carson is a good man with more integrity in his fingertip than Hillary ever had in a lifetime. Bash him all you like, his resume surpasses most folks easily. Attack his Religeon and I will say when more people did practice Religeon we had a more peaceful society.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

"Shoot her" was never said by "the GOP" and was not even said AT the convention. MSM is so misleading when they are trying to prove their nonexistent points. Clinton IS a liar (proven) and should be locked up (opinion) so I dont see any problem with those being said for all to hear. If being called names by the GOP is all Clinton will get for all of her crimes, she should be quite happy with that exchange.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

Have to agree. Ben Carson has some wiring loose. But then again a lot of the GOP speakers do. From climate change denial to less than subtle racism and overt hatred, this party has lost its collective mind.

Plus, at what point did America stop being great? We have the biggest economy, the strongest military and some of the best qualities of any country on earth. Yet these people seem to think we are somehow diminished. Because fear mongering propagandists say we are less today than we were.

It is hysteria. Just hysteria.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Watching the GOP convention is like watching the people of an insane asylum pretending to hold a serious political convention. The things being said are insane. It is shameful.

Translation: they are frightening us to death!!

Carson has very loose connections in his head and no connections to reality.

Hmmmm....that's your opinion, some people would beg to differ.

He's talking about Lucifer at a party convention. I have visions of the heads in the audience spinning around while making whooping noises.

He's right about that for sure.

bass4funkJUL. 21, 2016 - 08:35AM JST So when the DNC have their sleepy convention and ramp up their attacks, mostly personal at Trump and the GOP how is that different from what Dems are doing?

Their criticisms of Trump will be based in reality? They won't need to invent conspiracy theories to support their accusations because Trump's bigotry and hatred are on video footage available for everyone to see? Their objection to Trump will be based on things he's actually done and said, not simply his gender? Actual Democrats in positions of power won't call for his execution?

There's going to be quite a lot of difference.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

I agree Clinton is dodgy, but playground namecalling is not the way to push the point home.

“Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” [Al Baldasaro] the New Hampshire state lawmaker said in a radio interview Tuesday.

Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said that Trump and his campaign don’t agree with Baldasaro’s comment. The U.S. Secret Service said it was investigating.

The Trump Campaign has nothing except these psychopaths who see Secretary Clinton in every reflection.

This nutter, Al Baldasaro, is an excellent example of the promotion of violence by Donald J. Trump's rabid pronouncements and prejudice.

Since Trump acts like a jackass, the jackass in every GOP-tea-er over flows their gums in these ignorant and illegal threats.

Al Baldasaro's arraignment should be interesting.

Sad that in an article that is read by foreigners as well, this article by the Associated Press, as usual just highlights the negative aspects of some of the rhetoric and activities of the Republican Party and incite such negativism and emotional outbursts from the readers. True, the entire campaign has been "negative" on the part of both parties, especially within the Republican party among its own candidates and even among the party leadership. In a way that is a healthy argument if it was just about meaningful national issues, however it has deteriorated to personal character assassinations and accusations.

The media has allowed and even encouraged it to continue for the hype and attention, covering very little of the actual issues at hand. The very fact that in almost every discussion here, there is more emotional outbursts of personal nature indicates the forum it has created.

It is also true that reporting is reporting and factual events must be reported. However, it is in the "selection process", the "voice", the "editing" of the facts and events along with the kind of descriptive words used, can and does change the entire context and image of the event and facts and the story. Inevitably the editing automatically includes the opinion and bias of those that did the reporting first then the editing. It then forces the reader to search and read from many different sources to ascertain what may most closely and accurately describe the facts of events being covered.

The point is we cannot have the voting public base their choice and votes on "emotion" and "emotion based idealistic values" that are "unrealistic" and "impractical". Reality is that everything is "physical". Out lives are physical, our economy is physical, our everything, our existence is physical.

I certainly hope that those who vote can evaluate the candidates rationally and vote rationally.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

"The point is we cannot have the voting public base their choice and votes on "emotion" - comments

Trump is the one who created an emotional cry against Mexican ans Muslims. Trump is banking on emotion to carry him to the White House. Emotion? That what 'scare and sell' is based on.

It's not all bad for Hillary..."Texas’s restrictive voter ID law was struck down on Wednesday by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. In a 203-page opinion, the federal court found the law to be in direct violation of the Voting Rights Act because it discriminates against minorities. “This argument effectively nullifies the protections of the Voting Rights Act by giving states a free pass to enact needlessly burdensome laws with impermissible racially discriminatory impacts,” the opinion states. The decision was hailed as a significant win for Democrats, who have long argued that voter ID laws disenfranchise minority voters. The Texas law was first passed in 2011 by the state’s legislature. Republicans believe similar legislation is necessary in order to curb voter fraud."

Heaven forbid that someone would have to show ID to vote.

So if you want Hillary to give you more free stuff at the cost of working taxpayers vote early and vote often.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

This train is picking up speed and the collateral damage will be yuge.... YUGE.

Very yuge. Cruz is scheduled to speak tonight, and word has it he'll forgo endorsement. Perhaps there'll be some cheering for "Cruz 2020!" - if anyone can make that maniac look rational and electable, it would be Trump.

A salient point is that they maniac screams and lobotomized devotion are for Trump - the man. Not the party, which appears to be held secondmost in disdain to Hillary. Not any political philosophy - talk has been restricted to a debate over whether Hillary should be imprisoned or shot. So when Trump loses in November, the GOP will be left a smoldering carcass of a dumpster fire.

GOP leaders such as Ryan seem eager to get on pretending that none of this ever happened. I doubt it will be that simple. Not only will a large percentage - say, 35% - of GOP voters remain devastated diehard Trumpians (and the idea of who might replace Trump for this demographic is terrifying), but the GOP will also begin its first decade in the political wilderness - the first time this has happened since the early 60's - under America's first female president, whom they will abhor (despise, abominate, detest, execrate, loathe - none of these seem sufficiently powerful).

So, yeah, the collateral damage will be yuge. GWB was said to have remarked at a political gathering recently that he's concerned he may have been the last Republican president. His concerns are justified.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

There is a difference between just voting and voting to be counted. Just as not everyone has the "right" to vote, not everyone can be a "citizen", or even a member of the labor union.

Since the entire voting system is based upon numerical superiority (majority), each person is allowed one and only one vote.

It is to ascertain that one vote was cast by the person qualified and allowed to be counted, some measures are necessary. Just as going to a bank to withdraw money, some identification process is necessary. If that was not done, then none of the votes have a meaning and qualify to be counted. If the vote cannot be counted then there is no meaning and value for the votes and the election process.

It has NOTHING to do with minorities or race or religion. It is a matter of the principle and process of casting and counting a person's vote.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

It was always going to happen with Trump. The insults are ramping up exponentially and it's only a matter of time before a number of deranged Repubs start converting that to physical attacks and killing attempts. Not really sure what the end result of all this will be but surely it can't continue like this

5 ( +7 / -2 )

"He's right about that for sure."

Sure, when he sees the Democratic party in action, he might not be that far off...

What in the name of whooping and ROFLing Lucifers are you Benghaziing about now? That makes absolutely zero sense.

Ahh, the liberal humor. LOL

Do you still think Carson's prediction of Obama declaring martial law and cancelling the election will happen?

I predict the country will be a much happier place once Obama is gone.

Trump is the one who created an emotional cry against Mexican and Muslims.

Kinda like the Dems make the racial argument daily? Or make the excuse as to why we should get used to living with radical Jihadism as just another day in the back and that mediocrity is the best we can ever get up to.

Trump is banking on emotion to carry him to the White House. Emotion? That what 'scare and sell' is based on.

And the Democrats will use lies, cheats and schemes, empty promises,

Eric Trump is claiming Trump, the elder, knows how to run business.

The New York Attorney General wants to have that knowledge tested.

When the fraud case goes to the jury, Trump's son can still praise his father, but not for business.

Because Trump's business is a fraud, just like his phony Campaign and phony Campaign speeches.

A drop in the pond.

What we saw happening to Clinton and saw how Justice had no meaning, we felt like the word fraud is an understatement.

Mixed bag so far. On one hand, Florida's Attorney General Pam Bondi joined the "lock her up!" crowd. Then again, her cells are absent an individual after she solicited and then accepted a $25,000 donation from Trump while considering whether to join other states in suing Trump University. Guess what? She decided not to! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/pam-bondi-hillary-clinton_us_57901850e4b0bdddc4d31c58?section=

On the other hand, there are also people who seem to have just kinda wandered in, kinda like when you crash a birthday party and don't know the celebrant's name. Astronaut Eileen Collins did not mention Trump though a specific endorsement was apparently in her prepared speech. Cruz never mentioned Trump once - he used the opportunity to get a head-start on 2020. Even the sole black man at the convention turns out to have been there only looking for Pokemon.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/stephen-colbert-rnc-black-delegate_us_578f3113e4b0f180da63a5fe?section=

With friends like these....

3 ( +6 / -3 )

It's kind of funny that an article talking about mob attacks on Clinton is met with mob attacks on Clinton from Republicans here...heh.

Republicans today are just attack dogs. It's almost impossible to have a conversation with them since all roads lead to Clinton and they just don't know much about any particular issue anymore. They have no idea nor any interest in any policies that Trump has outside of the racist ones, and it's so weird when you put actual evidence right in front of them and they still hold on to their point. It really didn't used to be this way.

You have a party that's 89% white which means they will have a very narrow pool of experiences to learn from. Racist experiences are written off as drama while white Senators talk about "sub groups" and "real America." And none of this fazes them at all. It goes in one ear and out the other as they wait for your lips to stop moving so they can talk about Clinton again. Their nominee flirts with #WhitePower on Twitter and they just wall off their outrage and press on as if they just can't turn back now.

They can't form legitimate policy anymore since there is too much disagreement within their own party. The have no immigration plan, no plan to seal the borders, no budget, no healthcare plan, no comprehensive criminal justice reform plan. What's funny is that Republicans are fuming after reading that because they're all screaming, "What about Obama???" in their heads. The fact is all of those things are currently being bounced around the government, some of them even have plans with bipartisan support, but are being blocked by the far right. Nothing changes.

Most of their policies nowadays are social wedge issues or ones built on easily disproved myths and distortions. We all know the abortion laws aren't a safety issue, but when you say that to a Republican he'll say it's a safety issue. We all know voter ID laws aren't about voter fraud, but when you say that to a Republican he'll say it's about voter fraud. We all know the new LGBT laws aren't about protecting religion, but when you say that to a Republican he'll say it's about protecting religion. And someone here will be along shortly to prove me right.

Their talking points are these fuzzy, undefined outrage boogeymen. One is political correctness. I'll sometimes throw a "white trash" comment out there to see if any of them will praise me for the straight talk and lack of political correctness, but oddly enough it hasn't happened yet. It actually seems to piss them off a bit. I know the debate about political correctness has been around for a while but I've never seen it framed as the thing destroying America until this election. It's odd. They're also bringing guys like Alex Jones into the fold. Combine the two and I don't think I like where the GOP is headed.

So now they have a bigot as their nominee and Republicans appear ready to support him until the end. Or maybe they don't support him. I really don't know. The next word out of their mouths will be, "Clinton..."

These people are just proving how low Americans have stooped to on the right. The absolute rubbish and racist policies of the GOP have affected the brainwashed and brainless supporters to say things like the opposition should be murdered. I'd say it's unbelievable, but it is entirely believable. I wholeheartedly believe that any one of these nutbags, including some posters on here, could be brainwashed enough into taking up a gun and shooting her themselves -- and would be called heros for doing it. That is the sad, sorry state of politics in the good old USA these days. People who support Trump, Albadassaro, or anyone like them should be utterly and completely ashamed of themselves.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

This is indeed over-the-top rhetoric, and should be embarrassing for Republicans.

That said, the Democrats have never had much trouble with this sort of rhetoric (and worse) when directed at a Republican. Maybe they just didn't notice it until it was directed their way?

Another completely inept and amateur observation from the supposed journalist. Both parties gain traction during their national conventions. It's a given considering the intense media focus. No one is worried. At least not yet. The Democrats still have their convention next week, and you can expect a bump for them as well.

Exactly, but as we know, liberals only care about free speech if it fits into their own narrative, if it doesn't, they will always try to silence you. If they believed in fairness and free speech, there would be no need to silence or fear the right, none. That's just what the MSM press does in print, TV and cable.

I've been glued to the RNC and to be fair watching it on CNN. Not once did they chant "shoot her". At least CNN did not report this. . . and believe me, they'd be all over that like flies to a pile of crap.

They chanted "lock her up." No biggy. But we all know crooked HRC gets special dispensation from her buddies in DC. Heck -even her voter base expects special dispensation and "free" stuff like EBT, Health Care and higher education. What nonsense.

No. The only people chanting "shoot" are the BLM. Aren't they satisfied 8 officers are down? Enough. ALL lives matter.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Interesting point: The fall guy (woman, actually) for the Melania plagiarism case turns out to be Meredith McIver - who is employed by the Trump Organization, not by his candidacy. Turns out it's illegal for companies to provide pro bono support to candidates - the costs of such support must be monetized and considered as a donation. Certainly McIver will claim she worked on the speech only in her off hours and only solely due to her her deep love for the entire Trump family. The mixing of corporate and political funds in Trump's campaign is truly alarming. For example, he flew into Cincinnati this morning on his personal jet, then took his personal helicopter to the venue - operations of both aircraft (fuel, personnel), normally paid for by the Trump Organization, are now paid for by his political fund.

He'll lose, but he'll make a profit doing so. Give the guy some credit.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

"The business of America is business." -said an American president long ago. HRC knows this all too well also. All she has to do is run her mouth and she gets paid. Pathetic.

Trump doesn't need a job as bad as HRC needs this job. He's doing it cause he cares about America, yeah -give the guy some credit.

Wc626JUL. 21, 2016 - 01:55PM JST I've been glued to the RNC and to be fair watching it on CNN. Not once did they chant "shoot her".

And no where does the article claim they did chant it.

“Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” the New Hampshire state lawmaker said in a radio interview Tuesday.

So why are people distracting from the genuine hate on display here by attacking a claim that was never made?

1 ( +6 / -5 )

The amazing thing is, everything Christie asked if Hillary is guilty of, she is!

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Wc, Hillary was first lady of Arkansas for 12 years and then of the United States for eight. Though a trained lawyer, she could not work during that time. Later, she was elected a senator from New York and then served as Secretary of State - not particularly high-paying jobs by the standards of American wealthy folk. Thirty years of public service. Meanwhile, Trump boasts his Vietnam was avoiding venereal disease. His "business" skills are well recorded. Hillary does not need a job now because she does not have to afford the upkeep for a private airplane and a helicopter and alimony for multiple wives and what not. You've got the sentiment backwards, my friend: Trump is doing this only for himself; Hillary is doing it for the country.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

And no where does the article claim they did chant it.

Are you blind? Read the title. That would lead any reasonable reader to believe that "Liar. Lock her up & Shoot her were at least stated, if not chanted.

The amazing thing is, everything Christie asked if Hillary is guilty of, she is!

Heh. Agree. Another thing i find very interesting is that (if) HRC is elected. . . . She will be the ONLY president to have already broken her oath of office before actually taking it.

How can you swear to defend protect US Constitution when you lie?? How can you defend us from ALL enemies when you let in Islamic Refugees who might become radical and blow us up?

The DNC is next week. . . Wonder which accent HRC will use when she speaks? The NYC accent or the Arkansaa one. Yup--- crooked Hillary, there you go, uh-hmm.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Are you blind? Read the title. That would lead any reasonable reader to believe that "Liar. Lock her up & Shoot her were at least stated, if not chanted.

"Lock her up!" has been chanted repeatedly. Check the videos. "Shoot her" was stated on a radio show by a Trump delegate who is also one of his advisers. It has been authenticated. Wc, I assume you would find some humor if Hillary delegates began shouting "Castrate him!" during the Dem convention - but other Republicans would likely take umbrage. Be honest.

Wc626JUL. 21, 2016 - 03:37PM JST Are you blind? Read the title. That would lead any reasonable reader to believe that "Liar. Lock her up & Shoot her were at least stated, if not chanted.

In English we use quotation marks to signal direct transcription of another person's words and cue verbs like "say" to paraphrase. Do you see either in the title? Then perhaps you shouldn't be suggesting I'm blind, especially when apparently at least twice now you've ignored the very real call for her to be shot that did come from a GOP politician:

“Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason,” the New Hampshire state lawmaker said in a radio interview Tuesday.

So, yes, someone has said she should be shot. The article is accurate. I understand how appealing the myth of deceptive "main stream media" can be, but to lie about a story in the media in order to further the mythology of a lying media? I cannot fathom anyone having so much free time and energy to justify the mental gymnastics required for that.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Police tone down your rhetoric.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Fact check the accusations of Christie. Decide yourself. Dig a bit deeper than the surface of the media otherwise you won't find the truth.

The New York Times did. It comes across as rather soft and apologetic but essentially they determined that Christie was "not necessarily false" except for some "exculpatory evidence" that comes off as rather minor quibbles that did not contradict Christie's charges.

Simon, all to many read headlines only.

And then when they blow off about the articles it makes them look pretty stupid.

This headline suggests it WAS part of the chant.

No, you just want to read it that way because it's preferable to admitting your criticism was based on a fallacy. "Liar. Lock her up. Shoot her. GOP denounces Clinton." Nothing about crowds or chants. It just summarises what different GOP voices are saying, and anyone who didn't get that is being deliberately obtuse, if they aren't just plain dumb. The article makes it very clear that the GOP people in the audience were saying "liar" and "lock her up," whereas Trump's adviser was calling for her to be shot - and is now apparently being investigated by the Secret Service.

http://www.wmur.com/politics/baldasaro-doubles-down-says-clinton-should-be-put-in-firing-line-shot-for-treason/40799266

I think that's a bit worse than if a few imbeciles in the crowd had been chanting it, personally.

Wc626JUL. 21, 2016 - 01:55PM JST

Ah. someone else who just read into the article whatever would support the conclusions they wanted to draw and ignored everything else it said. What a surprise.

katsu78JUL. 21, 2016 - 02:55PM JST

Well, there's a PC way to answer that question and a direct way, but they always say how much they hate PC so I suppose direct is best. But it'll get deleted by the moderators.

Either work harder, educate yourself or be poor relying on the hard working middle class.

The American Dream right there. Self self self.... no compassion for those less fortunate or unable to climb that success ladder.

I'm convinced that Trump supporters and frothing-at-the-mouth Republicans in general could benefit from removing their tinfoil hats and cease their prattling about conspiracy theories... I mean seriously, it's farcical. We have absurd politicos in the UK on all sides, but in America they seem to be on the level of scary clowns.

The world should be very very afraid if Trump gets into the White House... he's a power mad ego centrist with delusions of grandeur. Hilary's not perfect, but she isn't MAD!

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Perhaps you could demonstrate that point by naming the Democratic politician who called for George Bush to be shot. I can't recall their name

Always happy to educate, here are 2 I found right away:

"Official Apologizes For Saying Bush Should Be Shot NEW YORK -- State Comptroller Alan Hevesi publicly apologized Thursday..."

"A German conservative politician on Thursday drew calls for his resignation by saying US President George W. Bush should be "shot" for his handling of Hurricane Katrina. Andreas Renner, the state minister for social affairs"

And for the rank and file, there were plenty of death threats... http://www.zombietime.com/zomblog/?p=621

And the Democrats successfully portrayed him to be a kook.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Commanteer,

In earlier years I remember thinking Goldwater was quite extreme, but in later years came to think he was actually one of the moderate Republicans, evidenced by his views on abortion, gay rights, etc.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

In earlier years I remember thinking Goldwater was quite extreme, but in later years came to think he was actually one of the moderate Republicans

He was a mixed bag of nuts, to be sure - so much more Libertarian than Republican that he later repudiated the GOP of the latter Reagan era due to its race-baiting and religious pandering. Ironically, Nixon, and later Reagan, won on the very path that he had laid, so even though his defeat was by an historically large margin, it was a victory over time.

This brings comparison with Trump. He will lose; the only question is the margin. He will be more disastrous for the GOP than Goldwater because he will leave no path to future victory. There is no ideology, no common thread which binds America - or even substantial parts other than already homogeneous, elderly whites - together. He will leave behind a burnt-out, smoldering hull of a garbage dumpster. That's not entirely his fault, of course - his followers are responsible, and they will be left with a toxic legacy.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

commanteerJUL. 21, 2016 - 05:33PM JST "Official Apologizes For Saying Bush Should Be Shot NEW YORK -- State Comptroller Alan Hevesi publicly apologized Thursday..."

It's odd that you provided no link to this story despite going to the trouble of quoting it directly. So I looked it up (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_G._Hevesi#Controversies) and was also surprised that though the story is quoted on many message boards, a cursory search isn't turning up any links to actual, currently existing stories on any major news site. But nonetheless, when you read the full story it shows it to be poor support for your claim that democrats are okay with this kind of language when it targets republicans:

Hevesi told his audience that Senator Charles Schumer was so tough he would "put a bullet between the President's eyes if he could get away with it."

So he wasn't actually calling for Bush to be shot, he was saying Schumer was tough enough to metaphorically shoot Bush. A poor choice of metaphor to be sure, but hardly comparable to what we're seeing here. Further reading:

Several hours after his remarks, Hevesi apologized for his comments, calling them " beyond stupid, beyond moronic, totally offensive," and "incredibly moronic."

So the reason you never heard any democrats condemning this language (or at least, you don't recall hearing of it - it's entirely possible they did but it simply wasn't newsworthy enough to be covered) was because the guy who made the remark recognized its inappropriateness and thoroughly condemned it himself. That sounds less like a case of democrats and republicans being equally immoral in their language and more of a case of one democrat saying something dumb and then at least having the moral fortitude to apologize for it.

As for your second story, now suspecting you have a reason for not linking to them I looked it up automatically. Remember, the start of our whole interaction was your claim:

That said, the Democrats have never had much trouble with this sort of rhetoric (and worse) when directed at a Republican.

So to bring up a German politician who has no connection to the US political process is a bit of an odd way to support this claim. Surely a comparatively small number of US democrats follow German local politics, and like your first story the man who made the comments appologized, so there is little need for American democrats to condemn him. But nonetheless let's actually read the full story as opposed to just a few words taken out of context: http://www.dw.com/en/german-politician-bush-should-be-shot/a-1705669

It sparked outrage in Germany, where several politicians campaigning for national elections on September 18 have criticized Washington's response to the catastrophe, but none have gone so far. The state chapter of Social Democrats called for Renner's resignation while his own Christian Democrats, who are expected to win the election, also criticized his remarks.

So you're trying to argue that democrats are okay with this kind of language when directed against republicans, and literally your best example to make your case is one where democrats literally did condemn it, going so far as to demand his resignation.

Now you might rightly try to argue that these are German democrats, not American democrats, and their strong reaction to his words don't reflect the position of American democracts. But then that would raise the question of why you think a German politician's comments reflects on American democrats in the first place.

Sorry, you're going to have to try again. Actually provide links this time, please.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I have to state that Clinton must be among the last women in America to be voted in as President. Her private life has been shown publicly to be one of a very low moral standard - so high-sounding lectures about America's needs sound shrill and hollow. She HAS lied, publicly and openly. Where did she get the gall to hope to become president? A massive ego-trip?

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Sorry George Soros, but your crazy leftist tactics through Jewish owned MSM and #BLM funded "protests" isn't working anymore. Americans are breaking the conditioning just like the British. To take down radical Islam, we need to first take out radical liberals like Hillary and her FBI friends who will stop at nothing to destroy our great nation. Secondly we need to take down the Saudis who are funding the terrorists. Lastly, we need to find a leader as good as Sadam was to take control back of Iraq and that will make those heartless murderers bend their knees to the West and will enable us to focus on our country's other issues. This whole PC culture needs to be erased. The west needs to a page out of Japan's book and be a bit more xenophobic as well. You don't hear about terrorist attacks there, now do ya? Ever wonder why? I don't know why right wingers have to resort to truth sliming and outright fabrications to make their points. Out of curiosity, do you also use sangetsu as your screen name? Trump: Make America Hate Again......

4 ( +7 / -3 )

If hate yields the higher dividends for the security and safety of American lives on American soill, then I'm all for it.

Whatever happened to "America is great because [America] is good?" (A line that Reagan and other conservatives have falsely and continually attributed to Tocqueville.)

Is hatred now good in the Orwellian world of the modern conservative? Sounds kind of Third-Reich-y to me.

Hardly great news for Republicans either. Trump should be miles in front, shouldn't he?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The GOP is all about fear and bigotry. They are leveraging white fear and hysteria to get people to support a candidate most people in the country think is grossly unqualified to even be in the running for office. Their rhetoric is all masked bigotry about returning the country to the imaginary white world it was supposed to have been in the undefined past.

At no point in my life have I seen a convention so much about hatred and fear. It claimed to be about ideas, but they have not definitive policies to support any "ideas" all they have are accusations, fear mongering and implied racism.

If this is the future of America. If this is making America "great again" then we are headed for a new dark age where religion overcomes science, fear overcomes reason, racial division is restored and people are quick to hate each other rather than see each other as Americans.

I am often called a Liberal in the same way bigots use the "N" word. As if having ideas about people being free to live without the intervention of religious zealots is somehow unAmerican. Well folks, YES I am a Liberal and proud of it. I support your religious rights, I support your wish for safety and better jobs. But I don't support the bigotry, fear and division that your party had so clearly stood up for during this convention.

I am one of the many mixed race people in our country. I want an America where race is not how we see each other. I want an America where we see each other as people. I am not religious but I would fight with you to protect your religious rights as if they were my own. But I would equally fight to live free of the influence of your religion upon my life. The is what it means to be Liberal people. This is what it means to be free. We love, respect and stand up for each other and leave each other to live in peace. Now that would make America great again.

Don't give into Trump and his message of fear, anger and hatred. Stand up for an enlightened country where we can be Americans together despite our differences.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Rainmonster,

The media created your 'fear, anger, hatred' message. Twisting things out of context is what the lefties do. The champions of blanket statements.

@smithjapan,

How about you provide some specifics instead of generalizing based on emotion.

Hardly great news for Republicans either. Trump should be miles in front, shouldn't he?

But they're neck and neck. Liberals would have a strong case to make if Hillary were 10-20 points across the board, but they're are not. That's not good sign for Democrats.

The GOP is all about fear and bigotry. They are leveraging white fear and hysteria to get people to support a candidate most people in the country think is grossly unqualified to even be in the running for office.

And the Democrats don't do the same? White police want to kill Blacks, they hate you because they are racist, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamaphobic and any other phobia. It's NO different. Everyone is playing to their base. I think Hillary is unqualified to be president, but for most people it's about honesty, integrity and being trustworthy, all the attributes she lacks.

Their rhetoric is all masked bigotry about returning the country to the imaginary white world it was supposed to have been in the undefined past.

And what imaginary world would that be?

Truth is, the people are tired of out of control politically correct progressive looney speech running amok. It's reached maximum overload.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

And in the meantime the Dems can without any media scrutiny call Trump a racist, bigot, hater, xenophobic, white male trash, call for him to be murdered, etc. Geez! what double standards.

But shoot her, that is media fabrication, sorry but the left wing socialist propaganda service, the media, seems to have a problem will facts and reality. No one inside the RNC convention said shoot anyone.

It is the Democratic Party which is filled with rampaging rioters who assault womenn and other, commit other violence, have violent riots with at least one, attempting to shoot trump a few weeks ago. So if anyone is yelling shoot someone, chances are its a democrat.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Wow the democratic convention was nothing but a star studded event further promoting a liar. Bill spent 43 minutes trying to justify why his wife should be president as if he was defending at a trial knowin she has lied. To top things off the convention basically promoted criminals they invited the mothers of the criminals killed by officers in the line of duty but did NOT invite any of the families members of the police officers killed and ambushed by reckless gunmen. Also there was not one AAMERICN FLAG displayed because the democrats said they didn't want to upset anyone!!! Wait wtf this is America but I saw two Mexican flags! Don't get me wrong I don't like either candidate but one thing I can't stand is a out right lying, cheating fraudster who panders to who ever will listen. This lady has made too many promises that she can't keep and IF SHE WINS she will flop like a fish out of water saying WELL THINGS DO CHANGE! The next 2 years will show where this country is headed for the last 20 years or more the Clintons and Bushes ran the show 4 more years of the Clintons will be reckless. No one in the Middle East will respect a women they didn't respect her as Secretary of State and they definitely will not respect the Botox hag as president!
