Palau was allowing flights from Guam. All passengers had to be vaxed with a PCR before the flight. For the last couple months there have been several who tested positive, some as many as five days after arrival.

Now you see why Tonga is hesitant to accept foreign aide workers?

This is a reasonable comparison, because 12,000 and 5,620,000 are basically the same number.

Won't there be an influenza H1N1 strain that is more deadly than Omicron going into circulation in the next few years? In 2009, the H1N1 killed approximately 12k people world wide, yet nothing was done about it. No masks mandates or vaccination mandates. No flights cancelled. Nothing. I worry that from now on, any virus that might kill a frail elderly obese person the world will go into jabbity jab mode, especially Japan.
