Disgraceful.

I have absolutely no sympathy for this woman.
She was NOT assaulted. She was jostled by people protesting her visit and rightfully so.
She fell to the ground. And if she got injured because of falling to the ground, that is not assault. Period.
This is the woman that pushed the extradition treaty. She is perfectly content to let the police in Hong Kong do whatever they want with impunity, doing far more than "jostle" perfectly innocent Hong Kongers.
And not only do they not get charged with crimes, they are encouraged to be even tougher. By this woman and the other pro-Beijing puppets in the Lam administration.
But then she has the temerity to turn around and play the victim and try to take advantage of the rule of law in UK as though some horrible act has been committed against her???
What a laugh!!
The irony?? She is seeking "justice" under the very rule of law that she, Carrie Lam, the entire HK puppet government and the mandarins in Beijing are working very hard to destroy in Hong Kong!!
I have nothing but contempt for her and her merry band of authoritarian puppets in Hong Kong!
extanker
And by better security, they mean shoot the protesters.
I don't agree with what happened to her, but Hong Kong and Chinese politicians have brought this on themselves.

It amazes me how Chinese politicians in recent history have shown scant regard for their people...
Akie
kurisupisu, exercise your freedom of speech ? China has risen from poor country because of the war with Japan to the first one based on PPP in 40 years, is it scant regard for Chinese ? China has contributed more than 30% growth to the world economy, including Japan. Quite honestly, many Japanese depend China to survive. Don't bite the hands feeding you.

UK can't be a model for modern civilization, as simple as that.

It doesn't help matters. But such is the passion and determination of HK supporters the world over.
Pro-Beijing shills trying to denigrate the push for freedom whilst cowering behind their keyboards.
POLTROONS!
K3PO
Difficult to see in the night footage, but looked like one of her security team was behind her pushing her forward through the crowd. She may have tripped.
ulysses
Its not clear how she fell, so hold your axes.
Whatsoever May have happened it’s unfortunate!!
If you resort to violence you are no better than the Brainwashed Chinese bots.
Toasted Heretic
In the case of unprovoked violence, maybe. But if a cop rushes up to you brandishing a weapon, do you just sit there and take the beating?

The protesters seem to be mainly Hong Kong Chinese from their accents. I think the police and security did their best, but were unprepared, totally taken by surprise by the hysterical venom of the crowd.
The real and only answer in Hong Kong is for the government to roll back their early attempts to enforce mainland rule there. It is like trying to serve rice that has not been cooked properly. The chef should be ashamed. Fire the chef!
Sadly pride will probably get in the way, and the people will be forced to eat this hard and unpalatable rice.

I'll happily bite the hand of any and all authoritarian regimes, thanks. No amount of thinly veiled threats will silence me and the many, many others around the world who are disgusted with Beijing's rule.
