Hardly surprising considering most of the population have been unnecessarily living in fear for the last few years.

Hmm, I think it's sad. Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday of the year and a time when families travel home to be together.

I wanna go to Kobe or Yokohama to celebrate, but no money.

If I was Chinese, I’d stay home too. And I certainly wouldn’t go abroad.

When the government is not taking steps to save people then people have to do it on their own.

What's to be sad about? Isn't that exactly what many Chinese are doing by staying within China? I don't think a great many Chinese families hold annual family get togethers in tourist hotspots all over the world.

Nobody wants to travel to a country that will test them and then lock them up if they test positive for something that is now treated like flu, particularly if they are not testing others. Until all the restrictions are removed, a lot of folk won't bother. And most people budget for and plan holidays some months in advance - only the rich can just hop on a plane on a whim. China has only just dropped Covid Zero. Xi's reforms and Covid Zero have hammered the Chinese economy. As in the West, many people have a lot less cash. Expect a slow revival through 2023 depending on how fast things get back to normal. And don't go anywhere without travel insurance, reading the small print on medical cover.
