Not because of the "boom boom boooom...."?

Black Eyed Peas, you guys better go a bit up north to thailand or move a bit down south to Singapore, and leave the Muslim alone.

Malaysia’s government has barred Muslims from a concert by U.S. hip-hop stars the Black Eyed Peas next month because the event is organized by Irish beer giant Guinness

I was about to say this is the first sensible thing the Muslims had banned, until I realized it was about beer rather than their abysmal, shithouse music.

Several pints is the only thing that would make a BEP concert bearable.

"What you gonna do with all that azz, all that azz inside that burka?"

BEP keep dancing and singing in Musical Tropical paradise Malaysia.

Just ignore some setbacks, bring on musical entertainment creativity which has nothing to do Guiness.

bring on musical entertainment creativity

creativity would be a first, for that band...they easily have the most inane lyrics i've ever heard

Man, to think I was upset when the Roman Catholic church was asking people not to watch the Da Vinci code or Harry Potter.

BTW, how are they going to know who is a Muslim and who is not?

Don't they have it mark on their ID card/driver's license, or have I got this mixed up with something else?

"Muslims in Malaysia are governed by Shariah or Islamic law"

I wouldn't be a Muslim in Malaysia or anywhere else.

No, I wouldn't.

Normally I'd say something about individual liberties and whatnot, but... meh. Can't help but feel that the Muslims aren't missing out on much.

Depends on your taste of music.

Only a paradise if your idea of paradise involves dual legal systems, violent suppression of dissent, trumped-up charges against political opposition, refusal to allow citizens freedom of/from religion even thought the constitution explicitly allows it. I could go on.

Why is Guiness holding this in Malaysia? They should have held it anywhere in the region but Malaysia. Even Indonesia isn't as retrogressive. Singapore or Bangkok would have been perfect.

"Non muslims cannot attend, non-muslims can go and have fun" Yep, pretty much sums up Islam, glad I'm a non-believer.

As much as I don't care for their music I think they should pull this appearance from their schedule saying they don't support a double standard of who can view their concert.

The Black Eyed Peas will perform...as part of worldwide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of Guinness’ flagship brewery in Dublin.

Who in their right mind would book this event in an Islamic country? Dumb.

Shocking how many people think Malaysia is a free country.

All Malaysians carry ID cards which state their religion. Muslims who wish to change religion are required to seek the permission of the Shariah courts, which, surprise, surprise, are not in favour of apostasy.

Ever heard of Lina Joy?
