I see China also has thier own morons amongst them too. I pray for the dead and injured children.
IchyaWarFare
Sad. I pray for the little ones and hope the ones that are injured make a swift recovery, both mentally and physically.

There needs to be a knife ban in China.

How can someone with a history of mental health problems become a doctor?

"How can someone with a history of mental health problems become a doctor?"
That is certainly the funniest thing I have read all day. Anybody else met a doctor or two who is off his/her rocker? First of all, repeat after me the REAL Hippocratic oath...
I swear by Apollo, the healer, Asclepius, Hygieia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment, the following Oath and agreement.
It goes on from there, but just let that sink in. Then realize that after about 10 years of school and practical training and at least half a million dollars of expense and lost income, they can finally become "a doctor." Ugh. As far as I am concerned, anyone wanting to become a doctor in a developed country today has a screw loose by definition. 4 out of 5 doctors agree. China counts because even though the process is much cheaper, I can imagine that the competition to be a doctor is overwhelming.
Nanping is a rapidly growing city of 3 million. With all the tension and craziness, this kind of weirdness is bound to happen. Of course it is sad, but the sadness is that there is probably little that can be done about it.

Not quite sure where you are going with that quote, Speedracer...

I think he saying that after years of very down to earth training a new doctor is asked to make a pledge that involves long (and almost) forgotten gods. I might be wrong but there is most certainly something of a contradiction here and maybe you would have to be a little mad to accept this pledge as having any value at all.
As for the killings, it says that the doctor has a history of mental illness and that he is former doctor. He could have been a perfectly well doctor that went strange after he became a doctor, which I think might just be a little more likely. What I don’t understand is this going into schools to kill children, yes I know it has happened in the west but no where near as often as it seems to in China. With the one child policy I though Chinese children were treated as being a bit special.

Very hard to accept as being real, but it is so all I can say is that I pity those related to the dead children & same to those that might recover from the care of OTHER DOCTORS.
Such small children that they would not have knowen how to defend themselves even in the slighest form.
GJDailleult
You have to ask exactly what mental problems can lead someone to want to attack and kill small children, and commit the worst possible crime a human being can commit? Self-hatred and self-loathing? Well, if he wanted a reason to justify that he now has one. He is a scumbag, it wasn't all just in his head. Why couldn't he have just jumped off a bridge though?

Hyppocratic Oath:
I doubt many modern physcians invoke Apollo when they take the oath, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Does Speedracer have a problem with the oath being thousands of years old? Having pagan roots? Essentially, all that preamble is just swearing honesty before a higher power. I can't see anything wrong with that. And why are modern versions of the oath not "real"?
