what a total waste of time, money and lives in this hellhole. Just get out and leave them to run their backward country.

Wakarimasen - Sounds good on the surface. But what you don't, ahem, understand is, if we just get out and leave them to run their backward country, we could well suffer another terrorist attack like we did on 9/11.

They used to clearly identify these men as Afghan soldiers or police. Now its "a man in an Afghan uniform" at least in the beginning where it is known that a great many people stop reading.

Then later its a "police checkpoint commander". You see what is going on here?

Next time I suggest a headline like this: Afghani kills three more foreign invaders. Invaders still wont leave.

One of them is from this town. Yanks come home.

the people have very short memories, who brought this hell to Afghanistan, only the two super powers of the times Russia and USA, Afghanistan is a war playground for the super powers and the Afghanis are the fuels.

They have no business being there in the first place. Like Ice Cube said, "And with the boom ping ping, it ain't no thing to blast On greedy mother****ers that trespass"

a police checkpost commander invited four foreign special forces soldiers to a dinner party at the checkpost. He later killed them and ran away

America's war is failing even further than the soviets! You know why, the ongoing war that lasted 11 years goes no where even their own ally murdering(I dont call this is war) them and still the US and Nato troops refused to leave? Once US troops leave afghanistan will be seen as a loser, this is something the American public cant afford, the myth of mighty US armed forces has failed will brpught the Americian society to chaos and desperated moods!

When America has no friends, they will set foot on the soil they used to 'liberated' made them 'be friends' and here is the answer from the locals!

Yank come home, now. Another human being lost. How sad. The USA cannot continue to do the same thing in war and expect a different result. What is that called? Military intelligence?

We could well suffer another terrorist attack like we did on 9/11.

Wrong. The 9/11 attackers were were NOT Afghan Taliban. They were middle-class and wealthy Saudis, funded by wealthy Saudis. The Taliban have never placed any bombs in any American plane, and they don't have global ambitions.

Today the news replays John Kerry's 4/22/71 speech about how the USA makes excuses to continue a war that it cannot win. America does not have friends in Iraq and Afghanistan and is only training people to attack "NATO" troops, i.e. USA. It is "blue on green" and needs to stop.

Yeah, but now Afghanis have some pretty good reasons for revenge, and there are plenty of ways to get it besides using airplanes. I just hope if it happens they go after the right Americans, because this American never supported the war against the Taliban or the stupid attempt at regime change. Unfortunately I think everyone can cry "collateral damage" just as easily as the U.S. military.

Two wrongs dont make a right. I suggest withdrawing and then give the Afghani people a great big apology along with the persons of George Bush, Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, and Paul Wolfowitz to try as they please. I think that would ward off any terror attacks for a long time.

The incident demonstrates the absurdity of futile "nation building" project in Afghanistan. How many Westerners have to die for this stupidity. Get out of Afghanistan now.

Reality check: The 9/11 attackers were mostly Saudis, and educated in the West. Mohammed Atta was studying engineering in Hamburg, Germany, when he was radicalized in a Hamburg mosque. By your logic, you might as well occupy Germany,

It is total fiction to link 9/11 to the country of Afghanistan. The only connection is that at time, the architects of the operation lived there... but they might as well live anywhere else. To remind you, Bin Ladin plotted many more schemes from his next home in Pakistan. So you want to occupy Pakistan too?

9/11 and similar jihadi attacks are created by a particular ideology, and not by any particular country. Wake up!

Reality check: The 9/11 attackers were mostly Saudis,

Reality check: Nobody said they werent and nobody said that a potential Afghani terrorist or other new terrorist would be the same people with the same reasons as the 9/11 hijackers. Could you just stop and think a minute please?

" How many Westerners have to die for this stupidity"

And how many Afghans?

Actually in this case we should take a hint from a surah from the qur'an. "If you are weary or weak, call for a truce and pull back to your encampment and rest until you can fight your enemy again with full strength...". So the US and NATO should pull out, and build up our defenses back home, while maintaining intelligence on the activities of the terrorist groups. Should we be attacked again, we can go back with more experience on how to deal with them. Even a mountain can be reduced to a pebble if chipped at long enough.
