Got to make people in countries without guns feel good about something.

So what, it's the US, we have guns, guns, guns galore. We have more mass shootings than there are days in the year. Right-wing politicians will pose for christmas pictures with every member of the family holding guns, including the children. Republican politicians say there is nothing we can do about it, even as they vote against stronger regulations put forth by Democrats. Mass shootings have become have become as much of a tradition as any other regular happenings. I feel for the extended members of the families that will have to deal with this.

How many times it's easier to commit murder/suicide when you have a firearm ready to be used?

People kill in the US to prove a point, to show who's right during a rush time altercation on the road.

You'd expect the people around you to be smart enough to know the minute they shoot you they will spend many years in the prison but they don't and that's where the danger lies.

"Guns for everyone" = guns for the law-abidding, for the evil and the plain stupid

I'm not American. But for me and many others America has long been the symbol of freedom and opportunity. I don't know of any other country where poor people at the absolute bottom can become successful and even rich.

But those days might be over. America has changed so drastically in the last 20 years.

Used to be America, the land of the free. Now it seems it's America, the land of destruction.

R.I.P. America.

Wasn't there an entirely separate shooting in Las Vegas with the same number of casualties last week as well??

TaiwanIsNotChina,

Got to make people in countries without guns feel good about something.

"The Gun Violence Archive, a non-profit organisation which tracks American gun violence incidents, in a social media post claimed there have been more than 17,800 fatal shootings, over 34,500 non-fatal shootings, and approximately 22,700 suicides by firearm in 2023."

Does that make you feel good? It seems so.

It makes me feel good that this is what you are left with to criticize the US about, yes. They hate us cause they ain't us.

We're still here. Strongest gdp growth in the OECD I believe. I'll not deny that it is tough if you don't have a good education, but if you are fortunate enough to have one, you can still rocket up the wealth ladder.

Land of the free, home of the brave........................................Even more so if you have an AR15, you know, to make a man feel like a manly man.

Why do not these murdering s**m just kill themselves, end of story. Oh well, it will happen again tomorrow, somewhere, some place, absolutely no where is safe in the grand 'O US of A. But then, when there are over 440 million guns in the country and about 350 million people, what could possibly go wrong........Just watch this space and you will see, tomorrow, the next day, the day after that......etc...etc.

Guns, knives, drowning, strangling, poisoning. There seems to be no end to the ways people kill their kids.

We're seeing more cases of people going off the deep end with little or no warning. That university professor had no history of mental illness and only started exhibiting strange behavior a day or two before the shooting. So even knowing a person's mental health history won't necessarily prevent a shooting. Which is why letting anybody and everybody to have access to firearms is a recipe for disaster. So the gun lovers can harp all they want about mental illness but that's clearly not the pertinent point. There's absolutely no way to know what an apparently 'normal' person with no history can and will do with firearms which are capable of killing more people, faster than a knife or other weapon.

More goobers with too many guns and too easy an access to them.

Yeah. There are far more gun deaths in those poor, developing nations. With guns that mostly come from the US, in fact. Many poor African nations, too.

If we can't keep their drugs out, we're not going to be able to keep our guns in.

So now you are telling me what I accept?

It's clear in your posts. Gun deaths in the US don't count because the US is rich. Got it.

What does that even mean? Your shouted statistics I presume are correct, they are just lacking the proper context which I will happily provide.

If you have to point to Mexico and Venezuela to find comparisons about gun deaths that are favorable to the US, it kind of makes my point.

The world is connected. If you had porous borders in your country, you would understand that.
