" samwatters Ive lived in the middle east for 8 years growing up. All my family is in Paris "

I assume your family does not included cartoonists or is Jewish. Good for you. And its also a safe bet they don´t live in a ZUS.

" . Im talking to people who are there, who live there, who call it home. You think Islam is a "bad" religion? "

Your post was not addressed to me, but afaic, it is a bad political system. A very bad one. If it was simply a religion, without political aims, I would have no particular issue with it, and we would not need these endless denials from our politicians and media. It would be a non-issue.

@Bass You served your country. Would you be happy to see your soldiers going into battle with knives, home-made explosives or assault weapons?

Ah, another one who can't see the difference between a knife and a military grade weapon. Put you in charge of the military and you could save them a fortune by switching to the former.

9/11 No guns involved, Boston bombing, No guns involved, I could go on, France has some of the toughest gun laws in the world and yet, these terrorists had access to them. So guns are not the problem, you can ban them all you want, the radicals will always find a way to get their hands on them, that is, if they want to cause maximum casualties, which they do. So we should be consistent, either ban everything or nothing.

If there is no difference between knives and guns, as so many gun-lovers profess, then why is there a problem with getting rid of guns and letting people arm themselves with knives instead?

"I think you are referring to the NKA - the National Knife Association. Apparently they have a very strong lobby in France"

@samwatters Ive lived in the middle east for 8 years growing up. All my family is in Paris. Im talking to people who are there, who live there, who call it home. You think Islam is a "bad" religion? Let me guess. You've gotten all your opinions from the Internet. Well done

Sad, so very sad, but this is the new norm in Europe. As long as Europe doesn't take a stronger and more hardline attitude towards this, you'll see this being repeated again and again.

I think you are referring to the NKA - the National Knife Association. Apparently they have a very strong lobby in France.

Exactly!

And if these victims were assassinated, they'd be snapping their fingers @the NRA . . . even though this terrorism occurred in Paris.

I feel for the child , no one should have to go through this, especially at such a young age...

Now lets wait for the chorus: Islam has nothing to do with it.... mental illness.... the vast majority of peaceful believers... etc etc

Yup . . .its a peaceful and loving religion, bla-bla,bla. And if these victims were assassinated, they'd be snapping their fingers @the NRA . . . even though this terrorism occurred in Paris.

"after he received a three-year prison sentence in 2013 for helping Islamist militants go to Pakistan."

Probably further radicalized in prison. Perhaps prison wasn't enough.

"Monstrous crime! What a barbaric murderer of a public servant. This guy shames his race!"

I think it's better to focus on ideas rather than race. The problem here is ideas. A related problem is the attempt to shut down criticism of particular ideas.

@thepersoniamnow. No, Islam is not a race. It's a religion (and a pretty bad one). There's a big difference.

It's Ramadan, folks. Be careful and stay safe.

Yes, as long as the songs aren't something Muslims might take offense at.

time to sing some more peace songs

Paris - one of the world's great cities. Visited by millions from all over the world but filth like this will do its best to put a dent in that.

Yet another example of a 'perverted' or 'twisted' version of the faith.

I suppose a fundamentalist Quaker will do something similar soon and so I'll save a comment for then.

This just gets worse and worse
