Good. He deserves it, the crook.

And the traitor, popular vote loser Trump must be freakin' out. His Trumpy Fanstasy world is collapsed: His inner-circle is decimated. His personal fixer Michael Cohen turned on him. David Pecker of the National Enquirer, his chief-keeper-of-secrets, turned on him. The White House counsel turned on him. His own company’s CFO has turned on him. His wife can’t stand him. She’ll eventually turn on him. Omarosa, who he created, turned on him. Investigators and prosecutors are swarming around his company and charitable foundation. No one wants to license his name anymore.

Trump's going down, little by little and it's so sweet to watch.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I'll be disappointed if Mueller accepted a guilty plea without cooperation. By pleading guilty, the facts of his crime (which deals with colluding with foreign powers) will never be discussed on the record at trial. It also keeps the topic off the table in the upcoming election. Him pleading guilty in this manner just to be pardoned later would be a total miscarriage of justice.

10 years in Federal prison is the toughest thing a person can go through, sources say Manafort really doesn't want to go to prison, I get it, so I might make a deal as well and as a father, I will sing and I will compose as long as I can walk

Trump must be freakin' out. His Trumpy Fanstasy world is collapsed: His inner-circle is decimated.

Well, maybe because Manafort might say anything to NOT go to prison, I'm not blaming Manafort, but that's how the Feds work, they will squeeze you until they get what they want, the FBI was built on forced confessions or coheres ones. This is not new to the department. So I wasn't shocked when the news came out, kinda figured that.

His personal fixer Michael Cohen turned on him.

And proved to be a non-credible witness.

David Pecker of the National Enquirer, his chief-keeper-of-secrets, turned on him.

It's the National Enquirer, come on now....

His wife can’t stand him. She’ll eventually turn on him.

You have absolutely NO WAY of knowing that! You are just speculating. The woman is pretty tough, if she wanted to leave her husband, she would have done it along time ago.

Omarosa, who he created, turned on him.

It would seem Omarosa will turn on anyone if she has gotten everything she wanted or if she can't get what she wants. Omarosa's credibility is as good as a GMO food product.

Hah - another one of "only the best" turn on their Master. Manafort will sing alright and bring bank statements, e-mails, and all sorts of other incriminating documents. You don't get a deal unless you can bring real, hard evidence.

See above.

Been attending more of Mueller's meetings?

It's the National Enquirer, come on now....

Yea, you know, that paper that always supported Trump and engaged in "Catch and Kill" all arranged by his him and lawyer.

You have absolutely NO WAY of knowing that! You are just speculating. The woman is pretty tough, if she wanted to leave her husband, she would have done it along time ago.

I bet she can't wait to get her copy of Stormy's new book...

Omarosa; Trump acolyte, supporter, employee, and one of "only the best" ...now thinks he's a danger to the republic just like all the other Republicans in his administration...

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Wow. They must have had a pretty compelling case against him, for him to plead guilty AND agree to be a witness.

He's now plead guilty to conspiracy against the US. Conspiracy against his own country.

This is the type of person that Trump surrounded himself with during his campaign.

Added Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani: "Once again an investigation has concluded with a plea having nothing to do with President Trump or the Trump campaign."

The good thing about the zealot's constant repetition that the multiple guilty pleas and convictions that have come from the Mueller investigation have nothing to do with Trump, is that as more and more of Trump's people are found to be criminals, the idea that it will suddenly stop before it gets to Trump's inner circle becomes less and less plausible, making their claims purely bleating in the background.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

HA!

First, Mueller will not accept the deal unless Manafort brings verifiable evidence. If he pleads guilty then he can't take the 5th at later hearings. Lying means perjury and further sentencing.

Second, what will Dump's response be next? Will we see another late night Twitter rant on the toilet? Will he still call Manafort a "good man"?

Third, what will that mean for his future pardon for the first trial? Will the petty president not give him one for ratting him out?

And cue Giuliani on the news network all next week while Dump pulls some stunt to distract from this report!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Under the terms of the deal, Manafort was allowed to plead guilty to just two conspiracy counts, though the crimes he admitted cover the same conduct alleged in an indictment last year.

LOL! His trials aren't done yet.

Heard this same story from all the liberals when Papadopoulos got a deal. Didn’t happen that way. Mueller accepting anything he can get by now cause he knows he has nothing on Trump.

First, Mueller will not accept the deal unless Manafort brings verifiable evidence.

@Blacklabel

> Heard this same story from all the liberals when Papadopoulos got a deal. Didn’t happen that way. Mueller accepting anything he can get by now cause he knows he has nothing on Trump

How so? What do you know about that plea deal that the rest of the public doesn't? How do you know that Papa's information wasn't useful to Mueller?

Please enlighten us on Mueller's plans since you know the inner workings of the investigation!

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Hah - another one of "only the best" turn on their Master. Manafort will sing alright and bring bank statements, e-mails, and all sorts of other incriminating documents. You don't get a deal unless you can bring real, hard evidence.

Ok and? So Manafort will get a free get out of ticket jail card, so Mr. Mueller, what do you want me to say?

Been attending more of Mueller's meetings?

No, and you?

> Yea, you know, that paper that always supported Trump and engaged in "Catch and Kill" all arranged by his him and lawyer.

Catch and kill what? An empty story?

Omarosa; Trump acolyte, supporter, employee, and one of "only the best" ...now thinks he's a danger to the republic just like all the other Republicans in his administration...

Who has a history of lying and doing whatever she can to advance her career that even propositioned Piers Morgen for sex. This is why the woman is getting booked less and now she is getting small appearances on The View. Lol

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Giuliani said a plea without a cooperation agreement wouldn't foreclose the possibility of a pardon.

THIS demonstrates the deep corruption of the Trump regime. Giuliani is saying Manafort can expect a pardon if he doesn't talk but not if he does. Is that how the pardon system is supposed to work?

But this is a step closer to Jared and Trump Jr. I can't imagine how Mueller could wrap up his investigation without interviewing them.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

But but but, Manafort's a good guy. He would never stab Trump in the back. A real loyal guy.

Over to you Trump. Any comments?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

THIS demonstrates the deep corruption of the Trump regime.

No, it demonstrates corruption with certain Trump campaign staffers, even Bob Woodward, the now for the moment darling of the left has admitted in his extensive research and investigation, he has not seen or heard of any collusion regarding this President. Well, since the left has the highest respect for him and give him the highest credibility, then they are right.

Giuliani is saying Manafort can expect a pardon if he doesn't talk but not if he does. Is that how the pardon system is supposed to work?

Maybe because they all know given the circumstances of how bad Mueller is trying to get Trump, it should not matter. Forgive them my father fore they know not what they do.

But this is a step closer to Jared and Trump Jr. I can't imagine how Mueller could wrap up his investigation without interviewing them.

As if either of them will see the inside of a prison. This is so nutty.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

How so? What do you know about that plea deal that the rest of the public doesn't? How do you know that Papa's information wasn't useful to Mueller?

Yeah, that was a really weird conclusion.

The one sort of unfortunate thing about Manafort working with the Mueller campaign, is that it's likely to add weeks, if not months, to the investigation, as they parse what he tells them to make sure that the evidence supports his assertions, ensuring he doesn't lie or manipulate the investigation.

This was the case with the Popadopolous flip as well. It will take a while to deal with all the info he brings.

I'd bet this means the investigation has at the minimum another half year. Could even be a year.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Ok and? So Manafort will get a free get out of ticket jail card, so Mr. Mueller, what do you want me to say?

e-mails, bank statements, recordings, etc., you don't get a deal without hard evidence. Wonder if Trump still think's he's a "good man"?

No, and you?

So spare us the "he's non-credible" since you obviously know nothing about what evidence Mueller's team has...

Catch and kill what? An empty story?

Only Mueller knows what was in Pecker's safe....

Who has a history of lying and doing whatever she can to advance her career that even propositioned Piers Morgen for sex. This is why the woman is getting booked less and now she is getting small appearances on The View. Lol

I agree completely and say again - Trump acolyte, supporter, employee, and one of "only the best" ...your assessment speaks volumes about Trump's judgement....

2 ( +2 / -0 )

it demonstrates corruption with certain Trump campaign staffers, even Bob Woodward

Now the right is claiming Bob Woodward was on the Trump campaign staff.

They're either really all over the place, or Bass may be displaying some illiteracy here, incorrectly though unintentionally referring to Woodward as a Trump campaign staffer.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

As if either of them will see the inside of a prison.

Maybe, maybe not. But the very act of identifying them as criminals through a guilty verdict, is in itself enough of a reason to prosecute them for anything they've done illegally.

Which, with all these guilty pleas and convictions, is becoming more and more of a reasonable expectation every day.

I'm starting to think that Trump's trade wars will be won by his enemies simply by waiting him out.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

When is Mueller going to finish prosecuting the small fry in his pathetic attempt to take down Trump and go after the big fry ( Hillary Clinton )?

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

When is Mueller going to finish prosecuting the small fry in his pathetic attempt to take down Trump and go after the big fry ( Hillary Clinton )?

The sitting president is the small fry, and she who is now nothing is the big fry. Yeah, right.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Manafort was among the participants, for instance, in a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russians and the president's oldest son and son-in-law that was arranged so the campaign could receive derogatory information about Democrat Hillary Clinton. A grand jury used by Mueller has heard testimony about the meeting.

Nice. Has Don Jr. given any statements?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Just a couple of weeks ago Trump was saying Manafort was a good guy who didn't "flip".  Now watch this morph to "could never be trusted which is why I got rid of him".

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Trump quotes on Manafort;

"I must tell you that Paul Manafort is a good man. He was with Ronald Reagan, he was with a lot of different people over the years."

During a press conference at the White House, Trump called Manafort "a respected man"

"But Paul Manafort, who’s a good man also, by the way."

Complimented Manafort by saying he found him "to be a very decent man."

Manafort just flipped on you Mr President, just like your personal attorney, your CFO of the Trump foundation, Papadopolous, Flynn, and Gates. All these people that you hand-picked, all based on your judgment, "only the best", are self-confessed criminals.

Mr Manafort was in the meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian agent who offered dirt on Hillary Clinton - and he no doubt took notes and maybe recordings. You know, the meeting you initially lied about and said it involved adoptions?

What do you think of Manafort now Mr President?

Trump's going down, little by little and it's so sweet to watch.

I wouldn't speak too soon, as sweet as it would indeed be. He's frustratingly resilient, like an annoying cockroach.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

e-mails, bank statements, recordings, etc., you don't get a deal without hard evidence. Wonder if Trump still think's he's a "good man"?

So then that should mean, Hillary and the Podesta brothers are also in serious trouble, well now justice is slow, but better later than never.

So spare us the "he's non-credible" since you obviously know nothing about what evidence Mueller's team has...

And neither do you, sir.

I agree completely and say again - Trump acolyte, supporter, employee, and one of "only the best" ...your assessment speaks volumes about Trump's judgement....

No, it speaks to the point that you don’t know either and still nothing even close comes to something to charge the President with, now I know Mueller’s desperately trying to find something, but if the most respected journalist-Bob Woodward can’t find anything, well, we have a very serious problem on our hands.

Stay on topic pls - you said Omarosa has "a history of lying and doing whatever she can to advance her career that even propositioned Piers Morgen for sex. This is why the woman is getting booked less and now she is getting small appearances on The View"

I said I totally agree with you - and as a Trump acolyte and hand-picked White House official (the best), that shows Trump's extremely poor judgment...

3 ( +5 / -2 )

He's frustratingly resilient, like an annoying cockroach.

Yes. But Mueller is equally resilient. Manafort cannot expect any relief unless he spills his guts - all of it. There is no room for negotiation. He's facing what for him would be a life sentence. His assets have been confiscated. He has been prohibited from profiting from his crimes by, like, writing a book. All he wants to do now is to spare himself from dying in jail.

That's a pretty big motivator.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Dodge. Is Manafort stil a "good man"?

No dodge. What he “did” and what he’s accused of was not a “good thing” but whether the man is personally good, I wouldn’t have a clue, never met the man.

Stay on topic pls -

Same to you...continue

I said I totally agree with you - and as a Trump acolyte and hand-picked White House official (the best), that shows Trump's extremely poor judgment

What does the fact that I agree with you that she is very flawed and that Trump picked her showing his extremely poor judgment have anything to do with "funny" and "pancakes"? You really ducked that one.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

You know who Manafort's plea deal hurts the most?

Tough day for Don Jr. and Jared if you ask me. Manafort got a really great deal, a tremendous deal. ;)

But Don Jr. and Jared may be going down with very few bargaining chips. Jared may soon join his father as a convicted felon.

The only person unscathed at the end will probably be Ivanka, but her aspirations for a political career will be overshadowed by her father, brothers and husband's criminal activities.

We will see Baron trying later to reverse the family wrongdoings and maybe even try to rewrite the official history books to cover it up like Abe is trying to do in Japan.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

"The sitting president is the small fry, and she who is now nothing is the big fry. Yeah, right."

Where's the evidence that Trump has committed any crimes?

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Check out Manafort's plea deal Blacklabel!

Read ex-Trump campaign boss Paul Manafort's plea agreement with special counsel Robert Mueller

https://www.yahoo.com/news/m/736554e7-2332-3915-8e51-6856a3e9203b/read-ex-trump-campaign-boss.html

And Manafort will not be sentenced until he completes the terms of that agreement. So, his cooperation will determine his sentencing for the crimes that he has already pleaded guilty to. Dump can't pardon these crimes!

Manafort faces up to 10 years in prison, and $500,000 in fines when he is sentenced. He has also agreed to forfeit real estate in New York and Virginia, and turn over four bank accounts to the federal government. Manafort's assets to be surrendered are worth an estimated $46 million.

WINNING!

Didn't Manafort also help Pence get his VP job?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Well, maybe because Manafort might say anything to NOT go to prison, I'm not blaming Manafort, but that's how the Feds work,

Didn't you say that Trump was going to pardon him?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Your President chose him as the Chairman of his Campaign - I guess he knew him...wonder if he thinks he's still a good man?

I do believe so and I do believe he knows that Mueller is making him compose.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

The new right wing mantra: The legal system cannot be trusted. Let's see how long this lasts (hint: until the next president).

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I do believe so and I do believe he knows that Mueller is making him compose.

Here's a couple facts on how Prosecutors work;

Prosecutors want the truth - they're very skilled at weeding out suspects who offer false info as part of a deal. They know untruths just blow up later and ruin their entire case.

Prosecutors don't want just testimony - that's just one person's word against another - they want hard evidence - paper, bytes, recordings, video, etc. They don't offer plea deals unless they get hard evidence in return.

Given Manafort was given a plea deal, he must have given Mueller hard evidence implicating others in a crime.

There's no composing here - it's hard evidence or no deal.

Between Manafort, Cohen and Weisellberg, Trump is caught in a vice, that's closing around his neck...

Next to try to cut a deal to stay out of jail; Don Jr and Kushner...

And we know who is after that...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

bass: he knows that Mueller is making him compose.

You've used this argument for everyone who has flipped against Trump, all with no evidence,

4 ( +6 / -2 )

While the US justice system still functions on the "Innocent until PROVEN guilty", there are way too many people here drowning in de-Nile. A lot of people originating from Trump's crew are being PROVEN guilty. And yet the cult 45'ers still insist that all is pointing to their great god emperor and savior is pure...

Where there is smoke (and a LOT of smoke at that) there is fire...

2 ( +4 / -2 )

"The sitting president is the small fry, and she who is now nothing is the big fry. Yeah, right."

Where's the evidence that Trump has committed any crimes?

Where's the evidence Hillary committed any crimes? The sword cuts both ways.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Let's see...how many felons does that make? Mr Trump, your orange jumpsuit fitting is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

even Bob Woodward, the now for the moment darling of the left has admitted in his extensive research and investigation, he has not seen or heard of any collusion regarding this President.

Woodward is to be trusted when he says there is no collusion regarding the president, but not when he is reporting that the president's staff call the president incompetent.

Which is it, Bass? Is Woodward credibly, or isn't he? Or, is he credicile when he says something you want to here and lacks credibility when he says something you don't want to hear?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Let's see what the conservatives' favorite lawyer has to say about Manafort flipping:

A presidential pardon now is “off the table; it’s too little, too late,” Dershowitz explained. “It would backfire at this point. If he’s given a pardon, then he [Manafort] can’t take the Fifth Amendment” to protect himself from self-incrimination. “He would have to testify anyway. He could be called in front of a grand jury.”

From the point of view of Mueller, this is a “big win,” said Dershowitz. “It potentially opens up lots of doors that probably haven’t been opened before.”

How long until posters that previously help Dershowitz up as the smartest lawyer in the world start attacking him as not knowing what he's talking about?

It's a well established pattern for conservatives to do screeching 180s on people that go from being Trump supporters/apologists to people that no longer advance the narrative that Trump is innocent. It's hilarious.

Some of the conservatives here, anyway. I wouldn't want to tar them all with the same brush.

I completely agree. That said, my broad brushstrokes and hyperbole are a direct result of the conservatives here refusing to engage in rational discourse. I know that two wrongs don't make a right, but we all know the conservatives here aren't open to anything different than their opinions.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I do believe so

You have no way of knowing what Trump thinks of Manafort. This is pure speculation on your part, especially given Trump's about-faces on the other people that agreed to cooperate.

and I do believe he knows that Mueller is making him compose.

Yet more evidence that some people know absolutely nothing about how the criminal justice system works. To receive a plea deal, the defendant has to have tangible evidence, they can't just make things up like you are claiming.

If Mueller discovers Manafort is lying, the plea is gone and Manafort goes to sentencing. The judge will hear that Manafort tried to game the system, and then will send Manafort away for the maximum sentence.

Mueller can't just buy any lies given the microscope anything he does is under. Not toemtiom that that is not how Mueller works.

Please, please do at least minimum research before posting, it will help you not look like a crazy conservative peddling conspitacy theories.

Wow. They must have had a pretty compelling case against him, for him to plead guilty AND agree to be a witness. yep that Mueller nothing burger is looking thicker and more juicy by the day. irony is Trumps tweet about Manafort on August 22, Mr Trump wrote: "Unlike Michael Cohen, he refused to 'break' — make up stories in order to get a 'deal. Such respect for a brave man!" Seems Mueller makes better deals than Trump could ever offer. LOL
