Stop the war in Syria. That will help a lot.

This will get ugly and won't work. They'll be dragging families out of their homes or shelters and forcing them onto buses, trains or planes, as if they were cattle. They won't want to go; the countries they are sending them back to probably won't want to accept them. Then what?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

They won't want to go; the countries they are sending them back to probably won't want to accept them.

It doesn't matter, legally.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Wouldn't you want to assimilate into a welcoming society? I know I would. Arrogance is not very welcome anywhere.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Well, I believe UN should just force all country members to accept a quota of refugees based on their population size, problem fixed

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

If somebody is kind enough to invite you into their home when you're in need, show them that you're grateful to their kindness. Don't barge in demanding food, clothes and money from your host as though they're Santa Claus, just be patient until your host can find a way to better accomodate you and make you feel more at home.

My roof, my rules.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Wouldn't you want to assimilate into a welcoming society? I know I would. Arrogance is not very welcome anywhere.

Exactly. In Munich an islamic refugee, acting as a leader, obtained thousands of signatures among the refugees. He had the nerve to approach and petition the authorities / organizers of Munich's renowned Oktoberfest in an effort to cancel it.

Just because they cannot eat (pork) sausages and drink beer doesn't give them right to disrespect Germany's culture.

If the continent isn’t going to welcome more than 1 million people a year, it will have to deport large numbers of them to countries plagued by social unrest and abject poverty.

You see. I knew it! Take your medicine A. Merkel.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

At least this will create alot of much needed jobs in Europe. Sweden can move to a deportation based economy.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Well, I believe UN should just force all country members to accept a quota of refugees based on their population size, problem fixed

The UN should have prevented Saudi Arabia, Turkey, US, Israel, UK, France, and others from messing things up in Syria.

Stop the war in Syria. That will help a lot.

Yes, very much.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

In Munich an islamic refugee... Oktoberfest in an effort to cancel it.

Ah yes, the hoax petition started by a "Morad Almuradi" in Amsterdam (hey, right continent!) and reported by some of your little tail-chasing chums as "Liberals Launch Petition To BAN Oktoberfest Because It ‘Offends Muslims’"?

One giveaway was the (with apologies to George Orwell) trollfeed last paragraph:

We also believe that the Oktoberfest might also offend all the Muslim refugees coming from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan. The cancellation of the Oktoberfest event will help refugees not to forget their Islamic history. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yes, after we kill all the radical Jihadists.

Not a single senior Politician out of the 28 Commissioners that make up the EU commission, has taken responsibility for the reckless open door immigration policy that has condemned 10's of thousands to drown at the hands of people smugglers in inflatable dinghies. Their despicably arrogant, holier than thou contemptible, smugness, is deplorable .

The European Commission's political leadership....

http://ec.europa.eu/commission/2014-2019_en

While German chancellor Angela Merkel continues to command supreme political power, undemocratically seized to defended her refugee/migrant policy, astonishingly flawed blatantly boneheaded claim of an 'humanitarian imperative', this migrant crisis, the bodies of men, women and children will continue to be washing up on beaches across southern Europe.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

"Stop the war in Syria. That will help a lot."

"Yes, after we kill all the radical Jihadists."

Stop using "we". It won't be you. It won't be you who has to take on another batch of headcases further on down the line either.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

A tv special on a few weeks back had a reporter following the path and routes of so called people fleeing war. Not one of them had their real passports. Many had none as they said they lost them, and most had no papers at all stating who their real identity was. Don't let the boats land as they do in the US off off Florida.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

The vast majority of these asylum seekers are from countries in which the US instigated conflicts, or which have become collateral damage in conflicts started by the US in neighbouring states. Meanwhile US legislators are attempting to prevent any of the "collateral damage " from their wars being resettled in the US. Another shining example of hypocrisy.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I really feel bad for these people fleeing and could never in a million years know how hard it is on them. However, it doesn't seem right that they can continue to go to other countries forever. At some point, the people will need to stand up and have their own civil war to resolve the issue. They need to have the courage to fight back for what is theirs. I feel like it cannot be other countries going in an helping and mass asylum seeking should be discouraged. I hope this issue resolves soon for the sake of the world.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The key word here is "could". In reality almost none of the invaders will be deported as the politicians lack the will to enforce the law. They preen and posture whilst their countries are raped and pillaged before their eyes.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Stop the war in Syria. That will help a lot.

Also need to stop the war in Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan......the list is long. Good luck with that.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The big round up has begun, expect stone throwing and tyre burning. Germany is next.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Thereby creating more radical jihadists and ensuring the cycle continues.

Then we'll just keep making more bombs to get them, better than just accepting them and giving in to capitulation.

Stop using "we". It won't be you.

I was already there and besides, I say what I want.

It won't be you who has to take on another batch of headaches further on down the line either.

So let's just accept and live in a world and just pray and hope that we don't tee off the radicals, that way they won't harm us. Sorry, we did the Obama European approach, didn't work. I prefer a massive assault on the radicals, hit them and hit them as hard as you can until they get so scared where they'll think twice before thinking they can either launch an attack on the homeland, Americans or even contemplating kidnapping them.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

These Migrants are not just going to willingly surrender, submit and passively obey to being deported, logic dictates huge numbers will just absconded from one state to the next, aided and abetted by The Schengen Agreement policy of open borders.

Once apprehended, German Authorities admit that 600,000 plus remain unaccounted for, Europe’s top human rights court will be on standby ready with a hordes of Human rights lawyers to ensure the process is draw out for years.

Thereby creating more radical jihadists and ensuring the cycle continues.

Then so be it. Rather go on killing them than to give in to them, even if it takes forever and if the rest of the west doesn't wake up, we will all be living under Sharia one day and I don't want to see that happen, ever!

Leaving a fight that isn't yours is not capitulation.

Well, we did it Obama's way and look what happened. Hit them and kill as many of the radicals as we can. If the refugees don't want to fit into our Western societies and live according to our rules and regulations, cause trouble, rape women demand that we live under Sharia, leave!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Rather go on killing them than to give in to them

So you're ok with the deaths of your own people that will arise as a result of fighting a war that is not your own, and cannot be won?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Stop the war in Syria. That will help a lot.

Yes, after we kill all the radical Jihadists.

All "we" have to do is to stop arming, funding, training, and advising the radical Jihadists.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

Just saw on the BBC Finland is having a clean out as well. 2 out of 3 2015 arrivals to go.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

These Migrants are not just going to willingly surrender, submit and passively obey to being deported, logic dictates huge numbers will just absconded from one state to the next, aided and abetted by The Schengen Agreement policy of open borders.

Does not matter if they willingly don't want to leave. They waltz in illegally, leaving a trail of feces, murder, rape and an overall unpleasant atmosphere. If they refuse to abide by the rational ruling that they must go, refuse to do so then it can be viewed as a sort of military occupation and lethal force to remove them would be justified.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

So you're ok with the deaths of your own people that will arise as a result of fighting a war that is not your own, and cannot be won?

It is our war now, meaning, the west and I am as long as the people that love this country have the will to not see it go down and being turned into nation where Sharia is the law of the land.

You were fighting ISIS in Syria? If so, I apologise. I had no idea.

Hmmmm, for some reason, libs are just not good at humor.

I agree 110%

Sadly for Sweden, this is too little and too late. Even if immigration stopped today the waves of family members joining those already in Sweden will swell numbers. Liberal Swedes vs conservative Muslims, it will be those with the most children who will determine Sweden's future. For native Swedes Abba's hit song Waterloo has never seemed so appropriate.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

That is exactly what has happened with EU expansion. Sweden and Germany have major issues to the refugee crisis. The movement from the low-wage economies of Eastern Europe was always going to be almost entirely one-way. And most of those flooding into the EU from outside will also want to head west and north. The dogma of free movement within the EU will soon be seen as unsustainable. There are no easy answers to Europe’s migration crisis. It's going to happen anyway, whether Europeans like it or not, and it will have a dramatic outcome on the social and political constitution of Europe. Are the refugees going to Russia or Saudi Arabia?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Only because you've made it your war. And in that same manner, you can make it not your war.

Whatever, doesn't take from the fact that we have to do everything in our power to destroy these radicals.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

You can never kill all the radicals because in killing them you just create more.

So basically you're saying we need to do everything in our power to try and achieve an impossible goal.

But of course, since the goal is unattainable, all the power used trying to achieve it is wasted instead of being used on a realistic goal. And that's ignoring the number of people who will be killed in the useless attempt.

This is why extremism is bad, both Western and Middle Eastern.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

"Stop the war in Syria."

It's a civil war among regional/local groups, who are generally anti-Western. They started it. It's up to them to stop it.

European government officials are now learning -- the hard way -- things I already knew and predicted a while ago.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

This has to be the end of the European project as we currently know it. A bureaucratic behemoth run by elitists only interested in their fat expenses accounts and sweetheart deals to friends and family. People so stupid they can't even agree to enforce the external borders as we are overrun by economic migrants.

Yes. Economic migrants. Most of those turning up in Greece this week are Moroccan,

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Hi AiserX, If asylum application is rejected quite rightly the applicant must leave, both Sweden and Finland calculate that 2/3rd of asylum applications will be rejected, in principal those illegal immigrants will face being forcibly deported.

However without adequate means of tracking these migrants and an open borders policy, human right legislation in a number of neighboring countries falls under the EU qualification directive subsidiary protection third country rule. Migrants can plead rights as stateless persons, then in turn be entitled to subsidiary protection if they cannot be protected either through recognition of refugee status or through the right to asylum. A variable maze of human rights protection.

A human rights lawyers charter. EU institution have created a mammoth wall of human rights bureaucracy supported in Strasbourg by the European Court of Human Rights. This will undoubtedly influence Great Britain's referendum to remain a member of the EU.

You can never kill all the radicals because in killing them you just create more.

I'm not saying that's the answer, but your opinion is not supported. It's just a well-worn trope used by people who are against a violent response. History is full of examples where radical (and even not radical) movements were wiped out by killing enough of them. Eventually, even most radicals get tired of bloodshed.

Since IS is concentrated and practically inviting traditional warfare, I wonder why the West is waiting. Unlike many extremists, they are not in the shadows, but concentrated and holding territory.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

You can never kill all the radicals because in killing them you just create more.

And the resolve of the people that refuse to live under the boot of radical Islam will create more defiance as well.

So basically you're saying we need to do everything in our power to try and achieve an impossible goal.

In your opinion, you can think that, I don't and if Israel thought like that, it wouldn't exist right now. it's impossible. If all of Europe would be practicing Islam if it throughout history caved in to the Muslims. So No, I don't think it's impossible, in fact, I think it's imperative we take action sooner, rather than later.

But of course, since the goal is unattainable, all the power used trying to achieve it is wasted instead of being used on a realistic goal.

It's realistic when more of the radicals are killed, I believe in modern technology and the power of a Tomahawk missile.

And that's ignoring the number of people who will be killed in the useless attempt.

That's war. War is ugly, sometimes in order to keep the peace, you may have to use deadly military force.

This is why extremism is bad, both Western and Middle Eastern.

I'll tell you what, if all the radical Muslims living in Europe and America denounce Sharia and want to live and adopt the ways and laws of their host countries. We don't have to worry about extremism or do you think If Christians did the same thing, rape women and are radicalized Christians that demand full on Christian laws, any Muslim country would tolerate it? Not for one second. So why should we? Drink alcohol, change your religion, steal or rape a woman under Sharia and you know what awaits you. They don't like our laws, then they shouldn't come and if they have to and we ALLOW them in, they have to fit in and follow our laws, that simple.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Since IS is concentrated and practically inviting traditional warfare, I wonder why the West is waiting. Unlike many extremists, they are not in the shadows, but concentrated -

Concentrated?? Like in some 4 or more countries! And killing a bunch of people would NEVER piss off the relatives and friends and neighbors of the dead. So, think of.......Afghanistan whereby we have dropped more bombs than we have than in WW2--and what have we accomplished? taliban is as strong ad ever and ain't going away any time soon! But for te alphamale redneck conservative, this policy is not only working but is wildly successful! I can only say "wow, oh wow!"

The chest-thumping rightists have seen their armed forces making a mess and getting its arse kicked all over the planet for decades.

They like the cool footage on Fox though. They like all the patriotic stuff, the 'bulls and horns', the 'shock and awe', the 'most awesome military machine in history' when it kicks off before it all goes to shit.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Its very complicated problem. The tragedy is how can Europe control the very long Libyan coast which is the main source of huge waves of refugees and migrants? It will be mission impossible to deport big numbers as announced, how?where are they gonna send them back?Do they imagine they will wait to be deported,or they they will keep moving from one country to another in Europe?Even if war stopped in Syria, who will go back to destroyed country?Europe had already big experience with refugees of different countries and cultures more than two decades,so it should be well known all these consequences from very beginning.I believe what had happened and the way borders were opened to hundreds of thousands could never ever be spontaneous, but well planned with counties overcrowded with Syrian refugees, such as Lebanon, and,Jordan cant afford such big numbers.Europe is really facing a tragedy on all levels.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I don't think bombing countries is the answer. The best way to control immigration and keep crazy nations full of religious people from doing bad is to establish dictatorships. Look at Libia. For three decades Gheddafi did a great job in preventing hordes of migrants from central Africa to set sail into the Mediterranean. In Syria Assad did the same. The problem is that these dictators should be chosen by the West as enlightened people, promoting secularization rather than just using the iron fist for their own interest. A good historical example is Ataturk in Turkey. Also Morocco's regime did well overall.

Islamic countries are full of people believing in god and Sharia. So how do you deal with them in a democratically? Religious faith is implicitly undemocratic. Democracy works (not that well anyway) with educated people and secular institutions. I believe iron first leading to a transition toward secularization is the only option for Islamic countries.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Dictators do seem to work in the Middle East. But that said, we should not be interfering in their choice of dictators whatsoever. It's Western meddling that paints a target on us - anyone who hates the dictator will by default hate whomever put that dictator in power.

Leave the middle east to the middle east. We can't fix it, and we shouldn't be trying. It's their mess for them to clean up.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Ok, fair enough. Middle East is far form Europe, but when it comes to border countries (e.g. Libia), a powerful, stable government is necessary. Instead of forcefully send back people it's better to prevent them to come in the first place.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

YES,absolutely right, leave Middle East to Middle East, you cant fix it,and shouldnt be trying. Its their mess for them to clean up.I may add,its a matter of mentality, how to imagine to change it easily and fast?!Afghanistan is an example, whats the result?Zero!A very complicated tribes system, power balance, and mentality, hopeless case.Should Europe pay this very expensive costs to get the lesson?!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

"The problem is that these dictators should be chosen by the West as enlightened people, promoting secularization rather than just using the iron fist for their own interest."

The west installing or supporting dictators ( no matter what their intentions ) just leads to more hatred. The Shah in Iran and Saddam in Iraq are two examples. Blaming the west for the dire conditions in their countries ( partly justified ) is part of the problem as it doesn't lead to the soul-searching needed. A Middle East free of idiotic, greedy and deceitful western intervention and is still a barbaric, backward mess may lead to the right questions being asked. It's not a very cheery view but it makes more sense than having lying, knuckle-dragging, cross-eyed warmongers bombing the living daylights out of the place in the name of bringing democracy.

“If people are sent home, they will protest. How will they send us home? In big cars? We are not animals,” he said. - See more at: http://www.japantoday.com/category/world/view/mass-expulsions-ahead-for-europe-as-migrant-crisis-grows#sthash.oA9QkdZI.dpuf

Then stop many of your compatriots acting like it! You are leaving the chaos of your home country because it is chaos created by your culture and religion. Fix it yourself instead of trying to export it elsewhere.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Leave the middle east to the middle east. We can't fix it, and we shouldn't be trying. It's their mess for them to clean up.

Ok, nice speech. So now what do we do about the radicals that want to kill us and dominate our countries? I would submit to your argument, if we should leave them alone, then let's do it all the way and not half-*ssed. We should allow only THE most skilled worker or refugees that are in real need of help. We should be highly selective just like Japan. If they have a skill and pass a rigorous background screening test, we can allow them in, anything shady and disturbing or alarming, we send them back, maybe with a bit of financial help depending on the situation.

I think that's more than fair. We leave the Mideast to the Mideast, we can't fix it and if they are so desperate and come to the West, then they have to follow our rules, NO Sharia, NO forcing themselves on Women, NO pushing for Sharia in their host countries, whatever they do in their homes is their business and NO exceptions.

Then stop many of your compatriots acting like it! You are leaving the chaos of your home country because it is chaos created by your culture and religion. Fix it yourself instead of trying to export it elsewhere.

Exactly!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Where's Merkel? She should resign from Government and Politic. Chancellor Merkel doesn't confess she was wrong about her open door policy for refugees. EU members' countries have been using as evaluating for her ideology and theory. How many peoples have to die at sea before Chancellor Angela Merkel's confessed she was wrong about her open door to asylum seekers and closed down border crossing without visa?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Ok, nice speech. So now what do we do about the radicals that want to kill us and dominate our countries?

The same thing we already are.

I would submit to your argument, if we should leave them alone, then let's do it all the way and not half-*ssed. Sure, whatever. I believe in extensive screening, so you won't hear me complaining about it.

It's a civil war among regional/local groups, who are generally anti-Western. They started it. It's up to them to stop it.

The first part is true. The last two are not. Great power rivalry started the problem (Mandate Period), and Super Power rivalry continued it, and so the song remains the same today.

A solution requires all the players to work towards a solution.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Why did the governments let them in in the first place? If you let in one, keeping out the rest of Africa isn't really fair. Transporting, or more appropriately letting people tron unseaworthy boats from their home country to a country far away geographically and culturally, with no plan of returning. That's not asylum, that is mass migration.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Strangerland: Thereby creating more radical jihadists and ensuring the cycle continues

Seems like a better speech in threads where Sunnis and Shiites kill each other.

Dictators do seem to work in the Middle East. But that said, we should not be interfering in their choice of dictators whatsoever.

Assad is a dictator. How is that working out?

Since you call the people in Oregon terrorists, will you rush in to blame their actions on someone else?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

"Great power rivalry started the problem (Mandate Period)"

nope. that (false) narrative has been making the rounds among the brain-dead liberal, anti-Western set-. One problem: it ignores a teensy historical event called World War I. The Ottomans who DID rule those countries went to war against Britain and France, after rejecting a Western offer of neutrality.

As the great Muslim empire collapsed, it engaged in several regional genocides and the UK and French went in to restore order and set up new forward-looking administrations. Borders were redrawn but they were not radically different from the Ottoman administration zones, the empire that drew the original "artificial" borders.. Then the Europeans left, taking no colonies.

Countries like Jordan, who wasn't riddled with medieveal thinking religious zealots did well. Others, who decided to fight the new secular administrations, were dragged down in a mire of violence and intolerance. A bad situation but would have been a lot worse if the Westerners did nothing to stop the various Ottoman genocides.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

that (false) narrative has been making the rounds among the brain-dead liberal, anti-Western set-

That's persuasive. Thanks for clearing that up!

sfjp330"Are the refugees going to Russia or Saudi Arabia?".

The 'refugees' are considered radicals, terrorists or plain lazybones in Russia and Saudi Arabia.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

No way there will be an "mass expulsion" as the sensationalist headline claims. Once the immigrants are in Europe, they stay, legal or not. The government machineries are slow, overwhelmed by the numbers, and there endless ways to fool them.

The best the thing European governments could do is to a) enforce existing laws and protect their borders and b) set a limit on religion "freedom" aka religious submission.

But I don´t see any government having the guts to do that. From what I see, the western, secular Europe that we knew is disappearing.
