Still, some will want to take their 23rd Star Trek century feelings and apply it to these modern day animals.

In that case, all participants in conflict are animals. From those on the ground all the way up to those who wage war from behind the safety of their fancy desks in their fancy halls of power.

If it wasn't so sad it would be funny. Christian warlords.......

I take it you've heard of the Lord's Resistance Army?

We're selling weapons and getting cheap natural resources, no reason to stop it...

Wow! Hard truth.

But I really don't want to begrudge a person to dream.

Tragedy after tragedy in Congo. Around 1900 King Leopold II (Belgium) launched a brutal campaign killing about 5 million people to get wild rubber for bicycle tires. He claimed it was a civilizing mission, but a British accountant exposed his lies (seeing only weapons exported to Congo; no trade goods to exchange for the rubber). The local troops had to justify any use of bullets by bringing back the right hand of the person killed - often cutting off hands of kids to justify bullets used for hunting game. (described in detail in the book, King Leopold's Ghost making more clear the report from the Heart of Darkness - "The horror, the horror!

More recently there has been a terrible Christian on Christian set of wars by war lords, seeking to control rare minerals in Congo, used for cell phones and other high tech uses. Congo produces much of the world's cobalt, now almost monopolized by refiners in China. Millions have died in recent years.

The number of deaths in these Christian/animist areas of Eastern Congo greatly exceed the death totals in any Muslim conflict. The UN and major countries should provide aid and schooling for refugees in Uganda.

Not possible for a western army to jump in there and eradicate them?

3000 years of human existence and they still haven't progressed past the tribal stage.

How do you think wars are fought? Everybody agreeing to turning up at a certain time and behaving impeccably?

This is the brutal and horrific reality of conflict and violence.

People do unspeakable things to each other.

This is what happened in most African countries, look like what is happanening now in Cameroon and Nigeria, the political leaders are selfish and greedy they are dump-ass slumps, i also blame the U.N because at the end they wont take a major step to stop all this, the president of camerron has been in power for over 35 years and cameroon is a bilingual country now the English part wants to seperate but the president decided to kill almost everyone in the English zone. Please the world needs to stand up and see what others are going through especially the U.N.
