The governor faces an investigation back home into abuse-of-power allegations in connection with the firing of a state official, and her husband has been subpoenaed to testify in the probe.

An interesting twist on this has the McCain campaign promoting Republicans suing other Republicans to stop or delay the probe because they are terrified of what can come out of it. As written in some press reports: "If Palin did so abuse her office, she could face any number of penalties, up to and including impeachment as governor. That would make it harder to pitch Palin as an "original maverick" reformer."

The Alaskan Legislative Council, which is supervising the investigation, is made up of 8 Republicans and 4 Democrats. Nevertheless, the McCain campaign has found some Alaskan legislators to initiate the suit.

Just like a man to hide his woman until he says she can come out.

"You go girl! You go right back into that house until I say you can come out!"

Title: McCain campaign keeps Palin under wraps.

Soon to be: Hockey mom in penalty box.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Of course she can't open her yap, for fear of letting the truth of her character slip out -- a religious nut with no way of answering questions honestly; all she can do is regurgitate the same crap from her first speeches. No interviews allowed... it's laughable.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Me thinks Condoleezza Rice is a good choice as VP. Me thinks Palin is not good choice. Me thinks McCain will loose election. Because me thinks VP debate will make or break Palin. Me thinks Joe Biden will become the ULTIMATE WINNER OF THIS K-1 COMPETITION. A PITBALL VS. THE LION. WHO WILL WIN ????

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MCCAIN SHOULD HAVE CHOOSEN CONDOLEEZZA RICE !!!!! Why did he choose governor/hockey mom/beauty pagent contestant ? NANDE ????

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ohhh, I forgot one more qualification PTA MEMBER/MAYOR of 5,000 peoplez !!! peoplez peoplez peoplez!!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

smithinjapan; i presume your attack on Palin is satire, you surely do not believe such piffle.

Palin is very busy at prestent, she has a heavy schedule, she does not have time for idle gossip, or interviews.

She leaves that to Mr trailing in the polls Obama, she showman like Barnum, who is pure fake. Ha ha.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What is Palin hiding today?

She wanted an investigation. Republicans supported this investigation, including Alaska's House speaker, a Republican who supported the initial "Troopergate" investigation until he turned against it recently.

"Palin has defended her behavior and said she welcomed the investigation. "Hold me accountable," she said."

Now she and McCain want to put a lid on it and hide the truth and the answers from the American people. But that sits well with Republicans who have had years of experience rollling over and playing dumb when scandal after scandal has rolled out of the bush White House.

Is this the way they intend to run Washington if they are elected which they won't be? Covering up facts and downplaying scandals ???

Now the McCain-Palin Celebrity Ticket is trying to paint this scandal as "a distraction" and a a blatant partisan issue.

It's time for the McCain-Palin Celebrity Ticket to step up to the plate and deal with this issue honestly in front of the American people.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Yet some Republicans concede privately that Palin lacks familiarity with the numerous complex issues that she must deal with as the campaign progresses and question her readiness for high public office."

Heh, so do millions of Americans who know blatant political pandering when they see it in the form of mccain's selection of Palin.

"A gaffe could prove devastating to her and the ticket, they add. At the same time, she also must prepare for a nationally televised debate in October with her Democratic counterpart, longtime Sen Joe Biden."

Why does 'dog food' keep coming to mind when I think about Sarah Palin in this debate?? :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

mccain has made probably the biggest mistake of his political life by choosing Sarah Palin, a hockey mum, television announcer, and to cap off her impeccable credentials for the role of Vice President - former beauty queen.

What was john mccain thinking? :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's a good strategic move for mccain to keep Sarah Palin well away from press interviews - she has too much baggage and wildly insufficient political nous to make an impact to an impartial audience.

Add to that, she can't speak without a teleprompter or a speech written by someone else (her convention speech was penned by one of Bush's speechwriters).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McCain and Palin are gonna win. They have policies that decent moral folk can relate to. Palin is not underwraps , she is a working mom. she does not have time for trivial interviews with liberal media outlets that will distort her words.

Obama is yesterdays man, palin is todays woman, i guess i just hit the nail on the head. Guess it kinda saddens you Sushi, huh?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"mccain has made probably the biggest mistake of his political life by choosing Sarah Palin"

Either that or he has made probably the wisest and ballsiest decision of his political life by choosing Sarah Palin, eh?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

HankHillUSA - "McCain and Palin are gonna win. They have policies that decent moral folk can relate to."

Like......please give some examples.

"Palin is not underwraps, she is a working mom. she does not have time for trivial interviews with liberal media outlets that will distort her words."

Looks like she doesn't have time to be VP either. And it would be nice if she actually put Americans first.

mccain has made arguably the biggest gaffe of his political career by choosing this patriotic woman who is right now working hand in hand with john mccain to cover up her dirty past.

Keep it coming! It's great watching the beginning of her and mccain's downfall :-)

I'm going to be going out soon to select a special champagne to mark Obama's coming victory in November :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge, - "Either that or he has made probably the wisest and ballsiest decision of his political life by choosing Sarah Palin, eh?"

Sarge, for one who has been on the wrong side of history almost too many times to count, you do have balls :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge- Great call buddy! I like your style.

I have read Sarge's post and have found them to be most informative, and above all truthfull. America needs more guys like him.

Palin is someone us patriots who love America, can trust and relate to.

She has intelligence and passion, qualities Obama and Biden both lack. SushiSake3- The party in November will be for a third term of common sense policies, for the good of America.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It took her handlers this long to realize Palin is a dufus?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Palin is a dufus"

She is not.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarah Palin is someone that people who have no idea what is best for America will blindly support.

HankHillUSA - "I have read Sarge's post and have found them to be most informative, and above all truthfull. America needs more guys like him."

I think even God would disagree with you on that one.. :-) (sorry Sarge! :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Meanwhile, Obama pulls within 1 point of McCain. The previous 2 days McCain was up by two. The day before that up by 3. The day before that up by 4. I think we are seeing a trend here.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge

If she is not a dufus, she is as close to being a dufus anyone throughout history has ever been to being a dufus. So for practical purposes I'll just call her a dufus.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

goodDonkey; sir, you are viewing the wrong polls, McCain is way ahead. Obama aupporters may as welkl stay at home on election day, his support is miniscule.

Palin is not under wraps, she is busy performing her important duties and supporting her wonderfull family.

Palin will talk, when she wants, not when hte Liberal media decides, OK!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

HankHillUSA

Tell that to RR. It is much more likely that he will believe you.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's official. Sarah Palin is a dufus. :-)

HankHillUSA - "goodDonkey; sir, you are viewing the wrong polls, McCain is way ahead."

Which polls are you reading? Can you post a link? Thank you.

HankHillUSA - "Palin will talk, when she wants, not when hte Liberal media decides, OK!"

No, Sarah Palin will talk when john mccain tells her to talk. That's fact

mccain is keeping Sarah Palin under wraps because he is very likely finding out to his horrw what a dufus he has chosen as his running mate.

Bit late now though, but thankfully America will be a better and safer country without the McCain-Palin Celebrity Ticket at the helm.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

They have this little bitty room where they keep Sarah Palin. She's allowed out to go to a campaign rally, then back in the room.

She's not allowed to meet the press, she's not allowed to make appearances by herself, she's not allowed to speak unless it's the Mccain/bush speach writers.

You can see that Palin will be just like dick cheney. Not cooporating with investigations or by providing evidence to an investigation. Looking for loop holes to hide the truths.

Psssst, Sarah.... come out and talk to real people. < :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

adaydream, Palin does things on her terms. She is not controlled by McCain, he would not dream of treating a woman that way. Palin will demolish her oponents in any debate, any tv host will be astounded by her sharp wit, and grasp of politics.

Liberals, you are smearing her out of fear, as you know, she will be the next VP, bravo!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The liberals are now reduced to calling Mrs. Palin a dufus. Ha ha ha too funny!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I can't wait for the Palin-Biden debate.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Let's be honest...They keep her under wraps as they are nervous about her answering questions because there is no way that she was the most qualified Republican choice.

I cannot think of any other reason for her not to be out an about from Day 1 of her coming on to the national scene. She is a clown plain and simple and is basically standing on the back of all the fighting that Hillary did.

However, I do believe that McCain will win because, as a whole, the electorate is not what could be termed as bright sparks. I believe that tons of people were looking for a reason not to vote for Obama and Palin has given them that reason.

How could anyone vote in the same party after all the crap that has gone on during the last 8 years? Oh well... Be mentally prepared for a McCain administration. Have a nice day:)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge and SwiftBoatvet - Why hasn't john mccain unleashed Sarah Palin to push his case and campaign for their ticket?

Why isn't she out there making noise?

Heh.... :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3- Palin need not be out there campaigning, the victory for McCain is assured. Obama cannot catch up, and many Democrats wouldnever vote for a man of color.

Get over it guys, Republicans shall be victorious yet again!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Why isn't she out there making noise?"

Heh, some people are whining that she's a loudmouth. Can't please some people...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

where oh where is that third party messiah that save us from the evil dems and repubs?

because there is no way that she was the most qualified Republican choice.: Neither is McCain otherwise he would have been elected in 2000. Obama is not even the dems most qualified Democrat, otherwise there would have been no need for Hillary to try, who doesn't have that much experience either if you don't count her being a wife there of..

Only person up there with any credentials is Biden, and no one cared about his qualifications when he ran..

The US government is crumbling down, but only this time its from the top down.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This dufus Palin cannot even muster up the courage to talk to the media without papa McCain's permission... shows how much unable she is to rise to the occasion, and how poorly she would be as VP or President if McCain kicked the bucket.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge - please do not deflect from the question - Why isn't arah Palin out there making noise?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sushi: let me answer on behalf of sarge, who can never answer anything directly himself: "it's because she would put her foot in her cake hole before a syllable could even come out", and also, I'll add, because she's under McCain's thumb, who has for his own selfish purposes demanded she remain silent in front of a non-approved media.

No wonder he can't bring himself to answer you...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I really, really can't wait to see Biden debate this poor, scared and inexperienced woman! It'll be hilarious to see her dodge the questions and bring up more hogwash rhetoric from her speeches.

Biden: How about how you supported the Bridge to Nowhere, when you say you are against special projects, etc.

Palin: I am against special projects and earmarks for such.

Biden: You didn't answer my question. If you're against such projects, why did you initially express your strong support for said bridge.

Palin: I am against special projects and earmarks for such. I am for CHANGE!

Biden: (sigh) try to answer my question... you said, and I quote, "The island deserves to have proper access via a bridge...

Palin: I... (sparks sputtering from her back)... am... against... (smile cracking) special.... projects... and...

Biden: (addressing audience) You can see for yourself that this woman cannot even answer a simple question, so how is she ready to lead the country if need be?

Palin: (to audience) you can see for yourself that this man cannot even answer a simple question, so how is he ready to lead the country?

Biden: Ummm... Sarah dear... you simply quoted exactly what I said, and for the record I wasn't even asked a question yet; it's not your turn to rebut.

Palin* (switching between smile/frown/smile/frown) I'm close to Russia!!

12:40pm. ANOTHER scoop by smithinjapan! How do you get to hear in your head portions of debates that haven't even taken place yet? I'm jealous. It must be religious training of some sort. I thought that like all good progressives your were devoutly atheist. Is it risky piercing the ether to glean the yet unspoken thoughts of american politicians? How do you do it?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Well I hope they pat her down before the debate. Hate to see the black box sticking out that hunch on her shoulders.

But for real if she is the trump card to this team you would think Mcsame would be parading her around like a new wife. Giving her all the chance and exposure to bring it home for the team. I had a great laugh on the "for what amounted to a crash course in running for vice president, and the tutorial continues as she travels around the country".

Well at least she can put lipstick on all by her self.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

alinsky4prez: "How do you get to hear in your head portions of debates that haven't even taken place yet? I'm jealous."

Hmmm... perhaps in YOUR world 'I can't wait for...' is followed by the past tense, but in THIS world 'I can't wait for...' is followed by what's to come. Hence, my 'example' of the debate in question would be but a premonition of what's to come.... and that's not hard to see for anyone.

As for my 'religion' or its training... hehehe... nice to see the old handle (errr... ONE of your old handles) coming out again. I see it more to more in the last few days of your posts -- trying to undermine people's arguments based on their nationalities/religions... not for long, my friend... you can soon try to think up yet ANOTHER handle. Why the mods allow you to keep coming back is beyond most of us, but hey.

Anyway, again, Palin has to keep her yap shut in order to avoid sticking her foot in it; it's just a real shame that the public can't see through that obvious fact. Again, I look forward to the debates (for Alinsky... that means those in the future, not the past).

DAYTON, Ohio —

Asked about her refusal to turn over emails to an Alaska investigator looking into her firing a state official, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin looked up, smiled—and then stepped wordlessly into her waiting car.

We've been duped. Barack was ready to defend and exonerate the Alaska trooper who heroically tasered his 11 year old son and who was unjustly FIRED by palin.

But now, adding insult to grievous and unpardonable injury, it looks like no one will be testifying.

I guess rove has beaten us AGAIN.

So not fair.

The little bitty room where they keep Sarah Palin was built after Republicans discovered that Americans don't want their leaders too smart, but they don't want them too dumb either, like Dan Quayle or George Dubya.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

. . . or do they?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge,

The selection of Palin may prove to be the wisest decision of McCain's political life. Unfortunately, what we really need in a President is someone who will make wise decisions in respect of all our lives.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Can't help noticing how the Republicans on this thread are all avoiding discussing the viability of Sarah Palin as a running mate for john mccain.....

Heh, I wonder it it is because they know she is a liability too?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Heh, I wonder it it is because they know she is a liability too?"

Nah, they just watch the images without sound....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3,

I think your question has been answered by Republican strategist Rich Galen in the article above:

The campaign is not being run for the benefit of the press.... The campaign is being run for the benefit of the campaign, and when everything is going well, then there is no need to change from what has been working.

In other words, it's not about Americans finding out about Sarah Palin's real views, its about controlling the information about her carefully enough so that she and McCain have the best chance of being elected.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sez,

The debates will be interesting, unless the McCain campaign are planning to have a Palin double meet Biden. Then again, it will only be interesting to those who actually listen to what the candidates are saying opposed to those who have already made their descision about a candidate that in Reality, they know little about...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sezwho3 - "In other words, it's not about Americans finding out about Sarah Palin's real views."

But does Sarah Palin have any real views besides those she has been told to discuss by john mccain?

I mean, her entire convention speech was written by a bush speech writer.

Nice to see how obama's spending his campaign money by paying off the drive-by media.

obama best better save his money. Consider who he's chased away (small town America, senior citizens, women, Jews, etc.) he'll need the cash to rent about 40 milllion blacks for a day on Nov. 4.

RR

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McCain or Obama. Hmm.

Nice to have a real choice between two such totally different perspectives on what the future is for the US and the world, isn't it?

Obama = confrontation with Russia, China, and Iran, and the return of the military draft in the term of office. But hey, fewer troops in Iraq, at least until civil war erupts once more and threatens the security of US assets (i.e. fore-mostly oil). Protection of the financial elite. Increased pressure on the working people (bulk of the US population) to pay themselves for the collapsing economy. No economic policy that can fix the financial meltdown. The Democratic Party represent a faction of the ruling elite who wish for a more moderate approach to that taken by those now in control in the Republican Party, but who have proven themselves time and time again over the past two decades to be utterly spineless.

McCain = More troops in Iraq as well as the above fundamental policy direction taken by Obama. Charisma and charm aside the difference between Obama and McCain is in the posturing, not in the fundamentals of policy.

McCain has a running mate who it is most apparent manifests those extreme right-wing and fascistic elements, making up the base of the Republican Party, including the most reactionary tendencies within Christian fundamentalism. A would be Vice President (to a seventy year old president) who considers a war with Russia an option, which today would mean thermo-nuclear.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The Democratic Party represent a faction of the ruling elite who wish for a more moderate approach to that taken by those now in control in the Republican Party, but who have proven themselves time and time again over the past two decades to be utterly spineless.

We need specifics. Who makes up this financial elite controlling America?

It's like Saul said - you got to name names!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Any questions as to why she ain't talking to the Media on their terms?

Ravenous for any negative morsel on the GOP running mate, they deployed legions of reporters to Alaska, who have produced such journalism as the 3,220-word exposé in Sunday's New York Times that upon winning office, Palin - gasp! - fired opponents and hired people she trusted.

Yet the more she has been attacked, the more her support has solidified. In the latest Fox News poll, Palin's favorable/unfavorable ratio is a strong 54-27. She is named by 33 percent of respondents as the candidate who "best understands the problems of everyday life in America," more than those naming Obama (32 percent), McCain (17), or Joe Biden (10). Among independent voters, Palin's lead over Obama on this measure widens to 13 points. In a recent Rasmussen poll, 51 percent of voters said the press was trying to hurt Palin through its coverage, versus just 5 percent who thought it was trying to help - a 10-1 disparity.

Millions of Americans, not all of them conservative, instinctively identify with Palin. That is why the left's scorching assault, so ugly and unhinged, is backfiring. The longer it goes on, the more it undermines the Democratic ticket - and the more support it builds for McCain, and his refreshingly normal running mate.

Next?????

We need specifics. Who makes up this financial elite controlling America? It's like Saul said - you got to name names!

Like who is the "we" you speak of? Who is "Saul"? Are you wanting to flash your Biblical or your literary knowledge here?

Okay then. So many names. Not as many as stars in the sky. But anyway, I'm talking specifically of the country's financial elite. These are the individuals and families that can be best represented by what they own. They own Wall Street literally and figuratively. They also own the government, because while 'you' may have a democracy in name, you have a plutocracy in reality.

These are people who have reaped millions while in their corporate roles as Directors/Presidents/and CEOs. They are the industrialists who are protected by the tax breaks Obama has stated he would continue, and who in return fund campaigns of the Obamas, and the McCains. You want names? Go pick up a copy of the Journal.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

These are the individuals and families that can be best represented by what they own.

Guess the Lehman Brothers aren't on THAT list anymore.

Moderator: Back on topic please.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Its a very good question. Who is on that list?

The might adopt a role as president of a company, these are people whose wealth and power doesn't end with the corporation. The super rich in the are likely to be members of families of industrialists and bankers.

Wall Street CEOs are generous with their wealth where their own welfare is concerned. They compensate themselves with tens of millions, even billions of dollars. There isn’t much rationality involved outside of their own desire for wealth, squandering social resources for the benefit of private greed.

The Lehman board awarded CEO Richard S. Fuld a compensation package worth more than $40 million at the end of 2007.

According to Reda Associates, he can expect to collect $63.3 million if he is terminated. In 2004, he paid $13.75 million for an ocean-front home in Jupiter Island, Florida, adding to his other properties, including a home in Sun Valley, Idaho. Joe Gregory, a former president of Lehman, used to travel to work in a helicopter. He recently put his 9,500-square-foot ocean-front home in Bridgehampton, New York on the market for $32.5 million. The Financial Times recently reported that compensation for major executives of the seven largest US banks totaled $95 billion over the past three years, even as the banks recorded $500 billion in losses." http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/sep2008/lehm-s16.shtml

sailwind, another good analysis.

Because he was leading in polls obama played it safe and spoke to issues as little as possible. He even went on vacation to Hawaii within the last 90 days of the campaign and lost an opportunity to show himself to be a world leader with Russian crisis because working on his tan was more important to him.

He refused to debate Mr. McCain or allow as little side by side comparison as possible because he knew he would always lose (as in Saddleback, where answers to questions were "above his pay grade"). He rode on the "hope and change" mantra and only spoke using telepromters.

Mrs. Palin changed all that. Mr. McCain pick a running mate who actually has executive experience and that has left Team obama in a panic.

Plus, the media have been so vicious toward Mrs. Palin that they endeared her to the average voter.

Down in the polls is not how obama wanted to go into the debates.

The democrat lemming march over the cliff on Nov. 4th is now a double-time.

I love this: Barbra Streisand says "McCain doesn't get it - women are not that stupid!... Women, he thinks, will vote another woman into office regardless of the candidate's values, experience and political positions."

No, Barbra, he thinks women will vote for him and Palin precisely because of her values, experience and political positions. Plus, unlike you, she's down-to-earth and can relate to the average person.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge, funny you mention streisand.

Though she originally endorsed hillary, Babs has jumped on the obama Love Train by singing for The One at a Beverly Hills fund-raiser yesterday.

What's intersting to note is that Babs sang at fund-raisers for the last two democrat presidential nominees — kerry in 2004 and gore in 2000.

Since they both lost to Mr. Bush, based on that track record obama may want to reconsider accepting her support.

RR

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RR - Well, with Babs supporting the losers in the past two elections, and yours truly supporting the winners in the past two elections, I'd say her support for Obama-Biden is foreboding for them, and my support for McCain-Palin bodes well for them!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge- Streisand's support is the kiss of death! Ha ha ha.

Who next, Pee Wee Herman, O J Simpson?

Palin and McCain can just keep their mouths closed, the Dems shoot themselves in the foot all the time.

Who's gonna listen to Streisand? she's another fruitcake, haha, this is getting so funny.

Ravenous for any negative morsel on the GOP running mate, they deployed legions of reporters to Alaska, who have produced such journalism as the 3,220-word exposé in Sunday's New York Times that upon winning office, Palin - gasp! - fired opponents and hired people she trusted.

Sailwind wants people to disregard a fine piece of journalism that exposes Palin for what she is. He submits to you all her accomplishments in the past via news articles but any criticism of her must be driven by the motivation he has determined. JT and the AP must be out to get her because they will not acknowledge she is a victim deserving of protection from the press. She is under attack; right and the Republicans that AP cites must be a lie because Sailwind knows the real motivation for Palin reducing her exposure.

Yet some Republicans concede privately that Palin lacks familiarity with the numerous complex issues that she must deal with as the campaign progresses and question her readiness for high public office.

Sailwind cites different polls of several segments of the voters. However he does not acknowledge that McCain/Palin are dropping in the polls. I did acknowledge when Obama dropped in the polls and again when polls said McCain had taken a lead. I submit information on a poll that indicates Obama has taken the lead again. I do this not so you will believe that Obama is again in the lead with the voters of America. I believe polls are best view looking at a variety of them and then watching them head in a direction over time. Nevertheless here you go.

Obama leads McCain among likely voters by 47 percent to 45 percent, within the poll's 3.1 percent margin of error. He gained ground in the last month among independent and women voters and on the question of who could best manage the faltering U.S. economy.

McCain's choice of Sarah Palin, an anti-abortion and pro-gun first-term governor from Alaska, as his No. 2 set off a political firestorm that helped stoke conservative enthusiasm for the Republican ticket.

But Zogby said Palin also helped solidify Democratic support for Obama. "For the last few weeks it's been all about Palin and she has been a divisive force," he said. "She has shored up the base for both candidates."

Obama, who struggled to solidify Democrats in August when just 74 percent backed him, now has the support of 89 percent of Democrats. McCain's support among Republicans grew from 81 percent last month to 89 percent.

The Illinois senator wiped out McCain's 5-point August lead among independents and expanded his edge over McCain among women, two crucial swing voting blocs in November.

All this according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

Polls nationally and in several key states show a swing toward (Mr.) McCain since she (Mrs. Palin) was added to the ticket

Which is why the global liberals are foaming at the mouth more than they usually do.

One thing you forgot to mention about Barbra Streisand, she organized the fundraisers.

Democrat Barack Obama raked in $9 million

That was in one night sarge; I think we'll keep Babs around for awhile. Your just jealous.

McCain will be using taxpayers money for his campaign. He will be spreading his lies over the airwaves spending taxpayers hard earned money. If you think about it these celebrities are paying for the taxes that Americans would have to spend if Obama spent the taxpayers money like McCain is doing.

Come out Sarah, where ever you are?

Don't hide sweetie.

Oly-oly in free. Sarah where are you?

Oh little Sarah Palin is so scared of the big bad media that she hides.

If she's supposed to be so with it and she's supposed to be the direct representative of McCain if he was to get elected, why is this strong republican hiding like a flea on a hairless dog.

Sarah Palin is supposed to get women's votes for McCain without speaking to the media. Of well there was the Charlie Gibson interview. But she had her handlers all around.

Sarah, come on out and play with the media.

If this is the same media that pandered to george bush, you got nothing to worry about. < :-)

Palin under wraps

Because Charlie Gibson was SO brutal. Honestly, I was kind of worries about Sen. Obama's chances until that interview.

It seems that putting the soccer mom in the penalty box was not soon enough to stop the slide of McCain in the polls. Previously I mentioned Reuters poll of Obama taking the lead. Now Gallup is also showing polling of Obama taking the lead. Barack Obama with 47% support among registered voters, and John McCain with 45%

Speaking of Carly Fiorina (a McCain adviser), she was unhappy with the SNL sketch of Hilary and Palin last Saturday.

"The portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial. I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes, I would say sexist,” Fiorina griped.

I think SNL struck a cord.

A CNN poll is confirming the slide of McCain in the polls.

Obama has the support of 46 percent of registered voters compared to 45 percent for McCain, while nine percent are unsure about their choice for president. In Tuesday’s CNN poll of polls, the two men were tied at 46 percent each.

Why would you have been worried? Sen. Obama is obviously the right choice for change in America.

Why would you have been worried? Sen. Obama is obviously the right choice for change in America.

This is your roving wrestling reporter JoeBigs. We are here at the fight between Taka313, Obama, and Bidin versus Sarge, Maverick Old man Mc and WhatamIdoing here Palin. This fight is a doozy let me give you the facts of the fighters.

In the blue trunks we have Taka313 he likes to use the "facts and information" attack style. He is quick and very witty he sometimes take too long to bring out the facts but when he does OHHHHH man is he good.

Then we have Obama he is a quick on his feet type of guy he`s also an honest fellow that lots of people like. He also can make his swing with his quick change attack. He is an original freestyle wrestler.

With them is "Madman the Lion Biden" this guy is one tough wrestler. He uses the crushing attack tactic of "wearemdown with facts" he is also a real good guy.

Then in the Red trunks we have Sarge, a true red to the bone sort of warrior. Even if all facts are against him he will never give up. His favorite tactic is the quick "shock and aw" attack tactic made famous by the team of Dick and Bush team. This attack is good but only lasts for a short bit. Then he tries to rely on his opponents typos to attack them. When he does this you know he is in trouble.

With him is IwasaMaverick old man McC, this vet of many battles used to be a real good guy. But some time back he joined the Dick and Bush team. Now he is known as just another Dick in a Bush sort of wrestler. He has no new tactics and very little honesty. Real sad, but after his last lose at the title match 8 years ago he just gave up his principles and joined the wrong team.

Then we have "WhatamIdoinghere" Palin, she was brought to the team by "IwasaMaverick" old man McC because he hoped she would help his chances of winning by using his "I am change tactic" but no one is buying it. She has no tactic nor does she know what to do with out "IwasaMaverick" old man McC`s instructions. She also brings lots of baggage that will not help "IwasaMaverick" old man McC and Sarge in this battle.

Too bad for IwasaMaverick old man McC and Sarge, if he would have brought a different partner he may have had a better chance to win. But oh well with that lets get back to the fight.

God day and good wrestling!

Thank you thank you very much there Sarge, I thought I stuck to the....errr facts.

We need another campaign story on JT. I want to make sure the Republicans get a chance to hear about the new polling results.

The latest CBS News/New York Times poll shows Obama with a five point lead nationally.

Too bad there isn't a way to make "five point lead" bolder or something in a quote so that it stands out better. I know it is just another poll and has no real meaning but nevertheless . . . FIVE POINT LEAD.

Additionally Palin has numbers too. But those numbers are going down.

Palin's favorable rating is at 40 percent, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll. That's down 4 points from last week. Her unfavorable rating is at 30 percent, rising eight points in a week.

I guess when sarge said, "Sen. Obama is obviously the right choice for change in America" it must have helped. Because Gallup now has Obama gaining another point in a day. Gallup Daily: Obama 48%, McCain 44%.

goodDonkey - Why isn't Obama up by 20 points over the old man and his inexperienced sidekick?

You may see that soon enough Sarge, at the rate that good old McC daddy numbers are dropping you may get this by next week.

21 point swing on ailing palin in one week. She is history. Grandpa can still pick leiberman, who he really wanted. Not the inexperienced snow queen. Palin is not appearing in ads now cause only the wingers on the far far right still want to see her. Just like Carly was thrown under the bush, sorry bus, palin is next.

President Obama, its here and its now.

Dream on.

Sarge,

inside information has mccain dropping palin from the ticket in October surprise. Only the wingers like you care about her, mccain is losing independents as palin is a big turnoff.

mccain should have picked lieberman if he really believed in country first. big mistake.

Nice snappy retort by the way, up to your usual high standards.

Word has it that mccain has given palin a blackberry to carry out state business. According to his aides mccain invented the blackberry.

His intial name for it was the fancy garage door opener.

Cant beat that!!

Are you Russian? Is your current alias a codeword for Putin?

Many republicans want the US to be more like Russia. Thats a fact.

The idea of “leadership” must be broadened from mere “experience” to include knowledge, ability to learn and insight.

Let's look at the educational background of your two options:

Obama: Occidental College - Two years. Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in international relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

& Biden: University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science. Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

McCain: United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 of 899

& Palin: Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism

Remember, 8 years ago we elected another academic failure (Bush was a C&D student) and look where the country is now.

Now, which team are you going to hire ?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Personally, being educated, I would prefer a leader with more education than myself. But there are a lot of voters out there with (a) less education than either Palin or McCain and (b) a complete disregard for the value of education to go with it. So unfortunately, I don't think the lack of study will affect a large proportion of voters :(
