McCain refused to discuss a new book that says the vetting of the Alaska governor was “hasty and haphazard.”

Hasty and haphazard has been the typical Republican planning process over the past decade. (Iraq is probably the best example.) Why should vetting Number Two to the president be any different?

"Republican Senator John McCain says he’s ......happy he picked Sarah Palin as his running mate in last year’s presidential election.

His decision was instrumental in ensuring the GOP were never in a million years gong to win the election.

For that I applaud the man.

To be fair they probably would have done worse picking anyone else. And that's sad. The only way in hell they'd have won last election was to find someone like Hitler to lead their ticket. Too bad he's dead.

That should be the new Republican credo: "We don't know, or care. We will be major players".

And McCain should rebuff the questions. Come on, Obama won the election, and the press never vetted him. Still won't.

Should have asked her good pal Vlad Putin what she's really like.

Care to explain your statement sir??

Come on guys. You all know that Sarah Palin was the best that the republican party could get. She was vetted, tested and ready at the gates. All she needed was a re-education in American and World History, just the last 100 years. There's rumors that she knew nothing about WWI, WWII, why we're in Korea right now and that Saddam was the reason for 9/11.

I wish her very well at her new job at FOXNews. < :-)

Not for nothing, but that seems just like half of the high school kids I've met back home. maybe she's stupid but then again, with the state of our education lately, one does wonder. Maybe she should be given a handicap.

"There's rumors she knew nothing about WW1, WW2, why we're in Korea right now and that Saddam was the reason for 9/11"

No doubt.

With McCain praising Palin, the Palin detractors must be disappointed.

Sarge - "With McCain praising Palin, the Palin detractors must be disappointed."

Not at all.

McCain picked Palin on a whim to counter a surging Hillary. He had only 'met' Palin once and clearly knew next to nothing about her - except that she was a looker and female.

That's pretty much all he cared about. Screw choosing someone who may be able to govern the country.

Then, when Candidate Obama whumped Hillary, GOP strategists' plans that had been based on a Hillary win were suddenly screwed.

That was really funny, like a goldfish suddenly finding someone pulled the plug on his tank.

In hindsight, it's obvious that the so-called 'patriot' McCain didn't give a toss about America, Americans, let alone good governance - he just chose the hot chick.

I guess that's why the GOP still loves the old guy....deep down they too don't give two hoots about America. :-)

That

Screw choosing someone who may be able to govern the country." Well, the dems must have been thinking that too with Biden. See, neither of these parties are fit to run the country.

skip, the difference is Biden has relevant experience.

Oh, and by the way, to humor all the conservatives out there - I'm going off about Sarah Palin, therefore I must be jealous AND angry... :-)

therefore I must be jealous AND angry... :-)" Well, I'm jealous of the money she's going to make.

Palin is fast becoming what Dubya was to the two extremities.

sarge: "With McCain praising Palin, the Palin detractors must be disappointed."

FYI; he's not about to admit the colossal blunder that cost his party the WH -- it would be even more suicidal to furthering his career as the picking of Palin itself.

But I will pose this question yet again; if she is so strong, and so great, and did such a good job, why on earth did she run away from her job before a year was through?

The woman is a dolt, and McCain just plain stupid for choosing her -- hence the man can only shush away questions about why he chose her with, "I don't know about that -- I don't care!", etc. So much for following in Pappy's footsteps.

Sushi: "he just chose the hot chick"

So, you admit that Palin is hot?

smith: "The woman is a dolt"

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! That must be why her book is a bestseller and the most popular news channel by far has chosen her to be a commentator.

Palin is a dolt, an idiot, a moron, a ditz, blah, blah, blah.

Class once again from liberals.

Hey, she's a win-win for you radical elements! The frothy-left hate her and the frothy-right think she's marvelous.

John McCain says...happy he picked Sarah Palin

Good for him though it's irrelevant who he picked. Obama spent nearly a billion dollars to get elected. He wasn't going to lose.

Bang on,mate.Simply put, another excellent post. You prove my point that Canadians like us understand America better than 99 percent of Americans do,ha ha ha haahha. The rightists think McCain is a patriot simply because he joined the military, like his father and his grandfather.Oh,and because like palin, one of his kids is now in uniform.Well, whatever..And what's TRULY funny is that they think President Obama isn't as patriotic. You see, they like to say,it's because his FORMER spiritual mentor is anti-American, he MIGHT even have said something a little less than over-the-top about America once upon a time, while giving a sermon in Chicago.

Well, anyways, palin is a dolt, her book can NEVER compete with Barack's and we all know it.Hence, she has had to beg Faux news for a job.Too funny!

Oh, and please, the sargies of the world can stop already with the "President Obama is NOT your boyfriend, okay,Gonbei?" He is the greatest, and I don't care what people say!
