One key Republican, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the far-right Trump-ally from Georgia, has become a quiet ally of McCarthy, who has promised to reinstate her on choice committees, working behind the scenes to ensure the leadership elections move forward.

An alliance made in Hell and it shows that the Hebrew orbital believing, QAnon fringe of the Republican Party is not that different from the leadership.

Unlike the Squad and Pelosi/Schumer.

McCarthy will face a challenge from the conservative House Freedom Caucus, whose former chairman Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., has announced his bid

This all reminds me of Animal Farm. The insurrectionist wing of the GOP trying to steal Kevin’s lil’ gavel.

“It’s going to be a tight majority so everyone is going to have to work together,” McCarthy said late Monday”

Yeah, because that has worked so well up until now. The party of unity, not.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Oh wait....so if McCarthy is going to be Speaker of the House that means that....Republicans won?

Congratulations on winning the midterm elections and taking back the House!

Interesting that the "tiny" majority of 222-213 would be exactly the same as the "strong mandate" the Dems had with 222-213.

-12 ( +1 / -13 )

Oh wait....so if McCarthy is going to be Speaker of the House that means that....Republicans won?

Again, no one ever doubted the GOP would take the house. What was in doubt was that huge red wave that rightists here warned us about. What happened? lololol

Time to get policies that broadly appeal to people.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

oh the "nobody ever said" deflection.

it was said here many times over the last few days.

total denial that Republicans in fact won and even have the same margin as Democrats had.

the red wave? not as big as it should have been, But even without that, still taking the House away from Democrats. If Kevin will have a "lil" gavel, its the "lil" gavel that Nancy will be passing to him- same gavel.

Even flipped like 5 seats in deep blue New York?

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Oh wait....so if McCarthy is going to be Speaker of the House that means that....Republicans won?

It was a Red Wave....a Red Tsunami....a Red Hurricane....oh never mind...

Congratulations on winning the midterm elections and taking back the House!

More accurately, congrats to all the RINOs and establishment-types that won (DeWine, Kemp, Raffensberger, Thune, etc...)....and condolences to all the MAGA-idiots that lost....(Oz, Lake, Masters, Dixon, etc...)

This time, McCarthy will face a challenge from the conservative House Freedom Caucus, whose former chairman Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., has announced his bid, signaling the blistering battle ahead.

Kevin has two huge headaches...

1) The MAGA Freedom Caucus hates him - they remember when the report came out that he said Trump should resign after Jan 6th, then denied it, then got caught on type lying. And just look at what our far right friends here were saying about him - "a snake", "cant be trusted", "another RINO"....now they're congratulating him...LOL...

2) The RINOs and establishment are much more likely to vote with the Dems - and will only take 6 out of 220 to flip...

Trump vs DeSantis, McCarthy vs Biggs, McConnell vs Scott, Pence vs Cruz vs Pompeo vs Hawley vs Haley vs Graham....

Get ready for two years of full-blown Red-warfare...ROFL...

This all reminds me of Animal Farm. The insurrectionist wing of the GOP trying to steal Kevin’s lil’ gavel.

Yeah, yeah, they’ll get it done, let them hash it out. I like Kevin, but I prefer someone more bullish.

Oh my, there must not be any walls left at Mar-A-Lago without ketchup stains...

*Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida gave a blunt assessment on Tuesday of Republicans’ shortcomings in the midterm elections, getting in a not-so-subtle dig at former President Donald Trump not long before Trump is expected to announce a third White House bid.*

*“There were a lot, a lot of disappointments,” DeSantis told reporters at an event in Fort Walton Beach when asked about Trump’s planned announcement on Tuesday night. “That’s just the reality. It was a hugely underwhelming, disappointing performance, *

*The governor made no mention of the former president. *But he appeared to relish contrasting the poor showing last week by many of Trump’s endorsed candidates with his own landslide reelection victory and successes by other Republicans in Georgia, Ohio and Texas.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/desantis-without-naming-trump-slams-201845898.html

So, who's right (correct)?

Trump when he says: "It was a big victory"?

Or DeSantis who says: "It was a hugely underwhelming, disappointing performance"?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

It was a Red Wave....a Red Tsunami....a Red Hurricane....oh never mind...

a Red "takeback of the House from Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats" can suffice as a descriptor.

The best hope you have is that some RINO republicans will vote with Democrats?

But Trump, or something. look a squirrel!

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Just one more seat and Nancy can be quietly relieved of her duties.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

oh the "nobody ever said" deflection.

It's not a deflection to point out that people weren't saying what you claimed they were saying.

it was said here many times over the last few days.

Maybe it was said by someone here, but it certainly wasn't widespread sentiment.

What happened on 11/6 happens nearly every midterm election. The only surprise was how small the GOP majority appears to be. The red wave isn't even a ripple.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Even flipped like 5 seats in deep blue New York?

Upper New York isn't deep blue, it's always been conservative. What do you mean?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The only surprise was how small the GOP majority appears to be.

so wouldnt the same exact number in the Democrat majority of the last 2 years have been "small" too?

odd that it was never referred to or considered as such.

you "had a mandate" with that small majority. so now we have the same.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Upper New York isn't deep blue, it's always been conservative. What do you mean?

if this were true, why were Democrats in all the roles of "representatives" of these people.

Would not have been 5 seats to even flip and wouldnt have been 5 Democrats to vote out of office.

Long Island is considered as upper NY by the way?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

I like Kevin, but I prefer someone more bullish.

Andy Biggs! Now there's a guy who can stick it to the libs!

If Kevin will have a "lil" gavel, its the "lil" gavel that Nancy will be passing to him- same gavel.

No, Kevin's gavel will be different. It'll have a big star on the end of it, more like a magic wand. When he waves it, gas prices will drop and liberal heads will explode.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

if this were true, why were Democrats in all the roles of "representatives" of these people.

In upstate New York? Nope.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York%27s_congressional_districts

Long Island is considered as upper NY by the way

Long Island is full of Republicans, as is Orange County, California.

You've already admitted the "red wave" wasn't as big as it should have been, trying to play up how big the win was by bragging about picking up 5 seats in New York is just copium.

States such as Arizona and Michigan, which Trump won previously, all went Democratic. So did Pennsylvania.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

“It’s going to be a tight majority so everyone is going to have to work together,” McCarthy said late Monday as he exited a private leadership forum with lawmakers. “We’ll be successful as a team and we’ll be defeated as an individual if we don’t all work together,” he said.

Sure Kevin, ask Boehner and Ryan how that worked out for them.....ROFL...

As House Republicans choose their leaders, many in the party are blaming their losses on Donald Trump, the former president who endorsed hundreds of candidates, many of them far-right contenders rejected by voters.

Note "Repubs blaming Trump"....like DeSanctimonious did today...

The closed-door leadership elections are playing out on Capitol Hill hours before Trump is expected to announce his 2024 bid for the White House from his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida later Tuesday evening.

A great summation of the debacle facing Repubs....the guy that they blame for under-performing in the mid-terms is going to announce he's the party's 2024 nominee...

I guess Trump wants to brag he is the first Repub four-time loser...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

A self-described “Trump-supporting, liberty-loving, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment Black man,” Donalds said after a closed-door forum late Monday he has enough support for the race with Stefanik to be close.

The Democrats worst nightmare.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

It was a Red Wave....a Red Tsunami....a Red Hurricane....oh never mind...

a Red "takeback of the House from Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats" can suffice as a descriptor.

It sure wasn't a Red Wave like you wrongly predicted for months...why don't you just admit you were wrong like Fox News Marc Theissen and Britt Hume?

https://www.thedailybeast.com/fox-news-pundit-brit-hume-admits-no-republican-red-wave-in-2022-midterm-elections

The best hope you have is that some RINO republicans will vote with Democrats?

And the Repubs worst nightmare...LOL...

But Trump, or something. look a squirrel!

Trump's new running mate? ROFL...

8 ( +8 / -0 )

and where the Mark Finchem’s of your party don’t get to reject those votes.

oh? is this a claim of fraud I sense? someone's votes were "rejected"? please share more.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

But Republican leaders are facing an intense backlash on Capitol Hill over their disappointing performance in the midterm elections, when McCarthy's promises of a GOP sweep that would transform Washington collapsed. Instead, the House could have one of the slimmest majorities in 90 years, leaving McCarthy exposed to challengers. The fallout is spilling down-ballot in other Republican leadership races and in the Senate where Republican leader Mitch McConnell will face his own colleagues Wednesday.

BINGO! And the reason for the Repub "whupping" is clear... Voters everywhere, Dem, Independent, and Repub rejected Trump's Big Lie and his cabal of election deniers..

MAGA-world is even tired of the two years of constant backwards whining while offering zero proof...

They might have bought into it right after Nov 2020, but now we're two years later....and everyone has heard Trump's own staff members testifying under oath that Trump privately admitted to them that he lost....his beyond dismal court record of 61 loses failing to prove any fraud, and Rudy Giuliani admitting under oath that "this is not a fraud case" and to the Repub Arizona Speaker that "we have no evidence"....

MAGA-world is waking up to the con...and now the head con-man is going to announce he wants to run for President again....

Things can't get worse for the Repubs...

BINGO! And the reason for the Repub "whupping" is clear... Voters everywhere, Dem, Independent, and Repub rejected Trump's Big Lie and his cabal of election deniers..

So, Democrats are celebrating losing the House?

They're celebrating all the red-faced Repubs that guaranteed a "Red Wave, a Red Tsunami, a Red Hurricane"....and were proven wrong....just ask Ron DeSantis who said it was "hugely disappointing".... I'm sure you agree with him....

They're celebrating their historical win keeping the Senate during an off-year election...

They're celebrating MAGA Election Deniers going down in every swing state...especially Trump favorite Kari Lake...

They're even celebrating REPUB Brad Raffensberger being re-elected in Georgia... You're celebrating that Repub win too, right?

ROFL...

5 ( +7 / -2 )

He’s running again!

“There’s never been anything to compete with what we’ve achieved” lol except the Democrats in the past 2 elections.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Things can't get worse for the Repubs...

they actually could. we could have lost the House, but didnt.

somehow there are at least 155 Trump supporters in the incoming House membership, according to a Democrat.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Trump is making his 2024 nomination speech and has filed papers with the election authority.

The GOB speaks.

He has forgotten his historical defeat, the greatest ever.

Claiming credit again. The greatest president since ketchup was invented.

Claiming he went decades without making war?

Millions and millions crossing the Southern border.

Ukraine would never have happened.

Claiming his backed candidates won the election.

Nancy Pelosi "you are fired!"

Best thing for 2024 - the next two years will show the nation that the Repubs can't govern and are a mess....RINO/establishment vs MAGA internecine war... we're already seeing it today with Biggs challenge of McCarthy and Scott taking on McConnell....and they don't even have the gavel yet...

somehow there are at least 155 Trump supporters in the incoming House membership, according to a Democrat.

Good - investigate those Jewish-funded space lasers....LOL...

They're celebrating all the red-faced Repubs that guaranteed a "Red Wave, a Red Tsunami, a Red Hurricane"....and were proven wrong....just ask Ron DeSantis who said it was "hugely disappointing".... I'm sure you agree with him....

Ok, so the Democrats who lost the House are celebrating. Got it,

Guess you're celebrating failing to win the Senate....LOL...

And DeSantis--he destroyed the Dem challenger in Florida.

Destroyed Trump today too...

https://www.yahoo.com/news/desantis-without-naming-trump-slams-201845898.html

And--Bye bye Nancy.

She isn't going anywhere, she'll still be there making Repubs look like chumps....ROFL...

No comment on agreeing with DeSantis on the midterms or Raffensberger winning?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

LOL

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Can you believe this....this is the Repub party today - anarchy....

*A video shows supporters of former President Donald Trump denouncing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis outside New York City's Trump Tower before the former president's expected 2024 campaign announcement. The video shows a group of people dressed in pro-Trump clothing outside Trump Tower while carrying Trump signs, flags and chanting "USA! USA!" Two men in the group are then shown stomping on top of a flag featuring an image of DeSantis, before one of the men suggested that they would be "taking out" the governor if he dares to challenge the former president.*

Just an early example of the violent outrage that will consume the Repub party - and any hopes of winning anything in 2024 - and beyond...

The biggest clown in the USA has just launched as a pre-candidate for the US presidency for the pathetic GOP..

What constitutes as a clown? How would you describe the people that are running the country into the ground?
