Nothing will be done. Gun supports will not allow it. The mass shootings will continue as normal.

Seriously though, smart move by Moscow M. He avoids having to deal with the hole Trump has dug himself into by both promising to enact mental health checks, while also promising to not enact mental health checks.

Worse than lip service because talk costs nothing, whereas background checks will. Who's going to do them? Blade Runner Rick Deckard was pretty good at sorting replicants from humans, but he was a character created by a mentally ill writer (no offense to PK Dick RIP).

What qualifications will those doing background checks have? How will they be funded? Surcharge on guns and ammo sales? That's needed, given the billions of dollars non-gun owning taxpayers pay to clean up the messes caused by gun owners and the guns and ammo industries.

Will they be able to predict future behavior? Worthless if they can't.

How's Trump ban on bump stocks coming along? JT posters who crowed they own them, have you turned them in? How are the no-teeth, voluntary programs working out?

Start with an outright ban on semi-automatic weapons and high capacity magazines.

The NRA and their supporters must be countered when they push their it's all or nothing, A or Z crap. There are no cures to the problems of existence; the best we can hope for are mitigating measures.

He chose to skip his responsibilities, so he could play golf on the taxpayers dime. He also didn't want to upset Putin by going to Poland because he needs his help to win another election.
