Good Luck. Doesn't the world know that only singers can save Africa from itself? There should be another "Don't they know it's Christmas Time?" again to save this nation.

nO,what will save Africa,is to avoid Democracy.Ivory Coast has over 60 ethnic groups who dont understand each others language. How can democracy work in such a country?

The educated represent a small percentage and they are the ones causing this mishap.

Time for a One paty state.

Then they are saved. It's been that way all along. Zimbabwe did itself good by getting rid of the dreaded "Democracy". Somalia is already an anarchists paradise due to it's rejection of "Democracy" too.

W all know what the western countries and Banks did to Zimbabwe. It has become a norm that,u either accept our ideology or we tramp u.

looking at the history of Africaand its resultant huge illetrate population,it will be difficult for such people t agree to disagree.

Etnic groups who dont understand each others language (thanks to European demarcation of Africa),how do they debate?

Yeah Baby!! The country of Africa will thank the commies from saving them from themselves. Once China unites the continent into the province of Africa for the People's Republic they will show the world how successful they can be using even cheaper labor to make cheap products and maintain control over that market economy that oppresses peoples everywhere. Who needs western banks when they have The Party!!

Mikehuntez,

U just scared of the rise of China. From a report I read,The infrastructural devt by China in Africa just in one decade is greater than what the West has done over the years.

I care less abt been a province of China or not,so long as it brings them prosperity.I am for it.

As I said, democarcy shd thrive where the demographics allow it

U just scared of the rise of China.

Yes if it rises to #1 World Power, I am. If China ever takes the USA's place people will be hoping for the USA to take that position back. But that has nothing to do with the Ivory Coast. I'm sure China won't do much with Ivory Coast except rape it of all resources. Coffee and Cocoa. And it will export Chinese people there to take over the country like they did with Tibet. So yes I fear China. A future wikileaks will be exposing Chinese secrets. That'd be really interesting.

Its good u admit but that is the inevitable which I cant help.U talk of Rape of Resources,LOL.

What has the West not done with Africa's resources?

If u read the countries behind those 2 Prez aspirants,u will realise they are all Western Countries.

What has the West not done with Africa's resources?

They didn't steal them. They helped develop them if anything. From CIA factbook: Close ties to France since independence in 1960, the development of cocoa production for export, and foreign investment made Cote d'Ivoire one of the most prosperous of the West African states, but did not protect it from political turmoil.

If u read the countries behind those 2 Prez aspirants,u will realise they are all Western Countries.

And that must really get your commie goat. Your Party wouldn't get behind any locals. They'd just take over.

Oh, mike.

China has a history of political non-interference.Unless,you can prove that.It says, business is business.

Oh,develop them?My area is abt Foreign Direct Investments and I bet u dont wanna go there.

Cos I am a researcher abt that.

Gbagbo has been in power since '03. His mandate ened in '05. It already is a one party state. The people just don't all know it yet. That said, it might be a good thing for the country to split into more than one state, as ethnic self-determination would dictate.

Point of order: The real, official name is "Côte d'Ivoire", for all languages using roman characters.

You wouldn't go around referring to Australia as, "Kangarooland" in this type of article, would you?

Africa's salute will only come from the diaspora. The new generation who has traveled and has seen how the world thinks about our continent and learn how easy it is to develop a land where is so much to do.But first we need to get rid of those selfish dictators inherited from independence and reeducate(change the mentality of the average African who had never left his land and doesn't know how it is humiliating to see how Africa is represented). I'll be back!!!
