The article fails to correctly identify the caravan as an annual event that has been occurring since 2010. Eight years without any conservative outrage.

This is Mexico's right as a soveirgn state.

It won't be long before posters that constantly question why non-Americans are so interested in American politics start commenting on Mexican politics.

When you treat your allies like crap, they take a step back.

Mexico should tell trump they will issue visas to IS fighters. That will soon change his attitude.

Not in the way that you think. It will just mean anyone that comes within xx range of the US Mexico border will be shot on sight.

Mexico is an unstable state caused by too much corruption. I agree one should stick by their worthwhile allies, unless those "allies" aren't really helping the situation become better. It's time to pay attention to who really is worth supporting as an ally and who is not. Support those only worth supporting I say.

The Mexican government needs to get it's act together. Even if they can bypass doing trade with the US, with the amount of corruption and violence going on in their own country it is hard to get foreign corporate investment attracted to you country if you can't provide a reasonable amount of safety for your own people. A lot of the decent amount of safety one could get at Mexican tourist destinations is dropping hard. Cancun isn't as safe as it used to be along with a lot of other destinations.

When people stop fleeing from Mexico to the US because they feel more comfortable and happy in their own country because of no corruption/violence/political instability, then Mexico would be a worthwhile ally.

@Honest

Spot on! 100% agreed!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Simply because there was blame laid at Obama's feet.

As well as the other 2 previous Presidents.

Trump's had over a year to sort things out here but has utterly failed. Nothing like adding Trump's failures in top of Obama's. Kuddos!

Well, the Dems are trying their best to not have a wall built or to curb immigration, people are leaving California so fast they need the votes and need to replace many of these voters and how do you do that? You import as many illegals as possible, give them entitlements and hope they vote Democrat. But thankfully the President is sending the National Guard to the border and possibly resend that monstrosity of that budget bill to draw money from to start building the wall. Good times ahead.

Ridiculous.

You import as many illegals as possible, give them entitlements and hope they vote Democrat.

Ridiculous assertion that Dems are importing undocumented immigrants.

You're skipping a helluva lot of steps between enter the country as an immigrant and gaining citizenship to be able to vote.

A little intellectual dishonesty, please.

It’s not ridiculous, it’s a fact.

You're skipping a helluva lot of steps between enter the country as an immigrant and gaining citizenship to be able to vote.

The people that have to wait years and years and then in the meantime, illegal aliens sneak in, disappear, blend in and the Democrats willingly allow them to enjoy and take advantage of as many entitlements as they can get.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I'd say too many democrats aren't allowing the laws already in place to be effectively enforced and are being complicit in enabling those who enter (or stay) in the US illegally to continue to stay. And they're left with hopes that they will eventually be given a free pass without being properly vetted or documented to see if they're even worth allowing to stay in the US. Some states give state ID/Driver's licenses to undocumented (ILLEGAL) immigrants just because.

Ask the immigrants that took the time to stay in the US legally how they feel about that? I know quite a few that are complaining about the stupidity of this situation. How about the first nation natives of North America?

The above picture is just one of too many of the same thing. Why can't they come into the US the legal way?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

It's a fact that people are leaving California. The rest of your post regarding democrats importing undocumented immigrants to gain voters is asinine.

More deportations under Obama than any other president. Obama was a democrat. Hmmm . . .

True, but it has nothing to do with building a wall, stop the catch and release program and dismantling sanctuary cities.

I'd say too many democrats aren't allowing the laws already in place to be effectively enforced and are being complicit in enabling those who enter (or stay) in the US illegally to continue to stay.

Pretty much, that’s the sad thing about these elected officials, the laws are on the books, but not at all enforced.

You should read the articles you cite. Nowhere does either claim that democrats import undocumented immigrants.

Of course it’s not going to say that, that would be stupid, but who runs the State of California? Democrats. You’re not seeing record numbers of illegal aliens rushing to Texas, Idaho, Wyoming or Utah, even the liberalist of liberals and papers like the LA Times and SF chronicle know this, growing up in California, this is a known fact. The Democrats aren’t doing anything to enforce the laws on the books like Honest said and then when conservatives or when cries come down from the Federal government, the Democrats say, we got this and they haven’t for over 30 years.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I love the sound of 'pubs whining in the morning.

On this case though their whinging about Mexico has some merit as this caravan has been going on for several years and Mexico didn't seem in too much of a rush to stop them and offer Visas like they have done so on this occasion.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

but it has nothing to do with building a wall

What wall? I checked and there is no wall.

You’re not seeing record numbers of illegal aliens rushing to Texas

WRONG! Both about about 6% in Cal and TX. The Republicans are giving them lots of entitlements in TX.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Bass: You do realize that by saying democrats are "importing" undocumented immigrants it means democrats are seeking them out and providing transportation to the US, correct? That is an absolutely asinine assertion.

. . .

You also admitted there were more deportations under Obama, a democrat, than any other president. Then you post this:

The Democrats aren’t doing anything to enforce the laws on the books

If Democrats aren't doing anything to enforce the laws on the books, how was Obama able to deport record numbers of undocumented immigrants?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The Democrats aren’t doing anything to enforce the laws on the books

Then what's going on in TX. About same %age of illegals there as in Cal

Not an assertion, it’s a fact.

TX Republicans are importing illegals there. It's a fact.

California is higher ranked (no. 9) to TX (no. 22) in personal income. Cal. is better than Texas.

Income isn't the only reason. The residents are also of a much higher quality, both intellectually and fashionably.

Why do Trump followers hate California so much? Doesn't money talk with Trump voters? They must be jealous of California.

California causes them massive amounts of confusion because it is the richest state and the most progressive.

people are leaving California so fast

WRONG!! No they are not. I have property in Monterey Bay and and property values are out stratospheric. I love California. It's a great state. It's better than Texas and everyone in California has more money and there are famous companies like Google and Apple. California is more important than Texas.

I have properties in Atherton, Woodside, and Hidden Hills. All very valuable. Property in California is expensive because of market forces: everyone wants to live there, unlike holes like Texas, Wyoming, and Utah.

When I was on assignment in Mexico, covering the elections, nobody mentioned any complaints about the US. Odd the government is reacting with such hostility now.

. . .

The US doesn't need Mexico. My portfolio, which is extensive and quite diversified, hasn't been affected much by the renegotiation of NAFTA. Just the normal ups and downs of the market, but us investors of 20 years know that's to be expected.

. . .

My family in the military and FBI can't understand why Mexico is rethinking cooperation with US. Those family members say Mexican society will crumble without our support.

. . .

I sure hope this rethink doesn't affect the value of my vast land holdings in Mexico.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

You do realize that by saying democrats are "importing" undocumented immigrants it means democrats are seeking them out and providing transportation to the US, correct? That is an absolutely asinine assertion.

No, I’m saying, they’re allowing them to come in. 11 million illegals and a city like Compton that was once 98% Black That is now over 65% Hispanic in less than 15 years is no accident. They have sealed the border, it’s like a sieve down there.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

If Democrats aren't doing anything to enforce the laws on the books, how was Obama able to deport record numbers of undocumented immigrants?

Yes, he deported a lot of illegal aliens, but it has nothing to do with the illegals in the country or securing the border or allowing ICE to do their job and deport illegals, especially the violent ones, they should be incarcerated here for whatever prison time the crime calls for and after they serve their time, immediately deported.

California causes them massive amounts of confusion because it is the richest state and the most progressive.

Richest with the poorest quality of life for most residents, particularly the illegals that now are making up a larger portion of the lower class and it’s also very funny that so many whites live in mostly white areas away from any minorities, they would never want any poor person living near them. So they want these people votes, but please don’t live near us, this is what gets me about California liberals, they love identity politics if it can help their cause, but integrating living with these people, no chance in Hades. Define, intolerance. Smh.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

The population of California is abou 40 million. There are 2.5 undocumented which is 5.75%.

Not a major figure.

We really don’t know how accurate the numbers are since the left don’t want the question asked if you are illegal or not. Doesn’t matter, California is on its way of being a State growing into a 3rd world status, the middle working class leaving as fast as they can and where all the poor people will be illegals or Low skilled workers from Latin America and the super affluent Whites that live in Silicone Valley, Malibu, Conservative OC and a few other affluent areas.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Videgaray said the areas under review would include the vital issues of trade and the two countries' extensive cooperation on security, which includes the joint fight against international drug trafficking.

There's nothing Mexican Government can do about Trade with US.

If the Mexican Government is not cooperation with the US Government against fighting drug trafficking from Mexico to the US and then the US Government can accuse Mexican Government officials are involved in drug trafficking into the US.

@Tommy Jones - It is Mexico's right as a sovereign state, but at the same time you can't possible expect the USA, or any nation for that matter, to just accept the fact that their neighbor is purposely allowing migrants to travel through their country so that they can illegally cross the border with their neighbor.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Bass, I've lived in California and can confidently say that all of the evidence you have is wrong. I don't need some website (Forbes is worse than Infowars) with radical right talking points telling me what I already know.
