More like:

a/ police noticed traffic violation

b/ car was stopped

c/ driver gave licence to police

d/ police entered info in computer and found out he had an outstanding warrant

e/ police informed driver, attempted arrest

f/ driver resisted and drove off

g/ driver killed by police

But let's get all the facts before passing judgment one way or another (unlike the protesters). This is from a local newspaper:

According to Brooklyn Center police, officers pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation shortly before 2 p.m. in the 6300 block of Orchard Avenue.

The driver, who had a warrant, got back into the vehicle as officers were trying to take him into custody. That's when an officer discharged a weapon, striking the driver, police said. The vehicle traveled several blocks before crashing into another vehicle.

Killing somebody for driving off! And then a sheriff's deputy in body armor points a large gun at somebody holding a rock? What a sick country.

I really want to know since when its been "ok" to just film yourself destroying police cars and throwing rocks at police. didnt this use to be a crime?

We need more information on this because it sounds dubious at best to raise reasonable suspicion, which would be required if there were no traffic violations to allow the stop.

Even if we assume a lack of reasonable suspicion for the stop, it would only invalidate the traffic ticket. The police are still required to apprehend anyone with an outstanding warrant, regardless of how they come into contact.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension

aka the police?

Wyatt Earp certainly never had so much equipment and so many toys as the Sheriff in the first picture.

In my opinion, it's never been "ok". It has always been cool.

P. Smith; no problem. We may not always see eye to eye, but it is important to get all the relevant facts before rushing to judgement. It may turn out that this shooting was entirely wrong and the officers punished. At this point, it is too soon to tell.

What IS a problem is the sudden rush to violence on the part of "protesters". This behavior has been tacitly accepted for far too long.

@ Attilathehungry

No, the problem is the sudden rush by the police to shoot people when their own lives are not in danger.

Kitty; both can be wrong. Like I said, a rush to judgement does nobody any favors. I am no fan of police violence, personally I think most American police are woefully undertrained and overarmed. These are issues that are race neutral however.

I think citizens are undertrained.

There is this dangerous and false reality created by organizations such as BLM that you dont have to listen to the police and can just do whatever you personally feel like doing. Police pull you over cause you have warrants for your arrest, just get back in the car and leave.

You have somewhere to be and that "racist" cop is just annoying you and has no right to detain you. You are exempt from any arrest warrants, you are just DWB- Driving While Black!

That is not the case, at all as people are sadly finding out.

This(got back in car, drove off, got shot)

Police said when they tried to arrest the driver, the driver reentered the vehicle and drove away. An officer fired at the vehicle, striking the driver.

has been changed to this already (got shot, got back in car, drove off)

According to the Star Tribune, relatives of Daunte Wright, 20, told a growing crowd in Brooklyn Center that he was shot by police in Plymouth on Sunday afternoon, got back into his car and drove several blocks to Brooklyn Center, where he crashed the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Blacklabel: The left want to take away our freedoms.

Also Blacklabel: Civilians should be sent to training bootcamps where they will have the will to challange authority beaten out of them.

I think reality is probably somewhere in the middle. You don't have to jump and dance just because some random cop says "dance". It depends on the circumstances.

The difference to me is that the police are 'supposed' to be the trained professionals. THEY need to know about your obligations when they talk to you, and also (most importantly) your civil rights. For regular people, police encounters are stressful and scary. Police are supposed to be able to DE-escalate potentially dangerous situations, not exascerbate them. I have seen far too many Youtube videos where the attitude of the police is just "shut up and obey" and "if I shout, you need to do as I say". Too much paranoia and not enough training.

not even close. You have no right to get back in your car and drive off after you have been detained for OUTSANDING ARREST WARRANTS.

Also Blacklabel: Civilians should be sent to training bootcamps where they will have the will to challange authority beaten out of them.

where do you think this new idea came from that you can just jump up and down on a police car, set things on fire and throw rocks at police with no consequences?

Black Lives Matter. Their founder/leader just bought 4 new houses with the money she got paid by "woke" companies. George Floyd family already got paid too and the trial isnt even over.
