Tell you what Serbia, it is about time.

It's amazing how his crimes have been conveniently forgotten in Europe...

I'm not sure who this remark is aimed at, but there are A LOT of people in Europe who will never ever forget the kinds of heinous crimes against humanity this person committed. Lots of people who will never forget what he did to the people of Srebrenica, to the people of Sarajevo. Never forget the fear his troops, his sniper units, his death squads instilled into the people of Bosnia. Despite what Serbian nationalists say this man was a walking monster and his arrest, along with Radovan Karadzic a couple of years ago, hopefully will allow Serbia to clear it's collective stained conscience and move forward as a nation.

Hopefully his extradition, trial & conviction are speedily done, and he can rot in a cell on his own for the remainder of his days.

One should never wear a baseball hat outside of a baseball stadium. Never helps one's presentation on the world stage, especially for genocide.

thepersoniamnow - while I DO have a problem for death penalty for rape (as it happens in USA),

Not to get off topic here but a correction is in order for this parenthetical "fact": No such thing happens in the USA.

Capital punishment for rape was eliminated by the Supreme Court in '77 and laws created after that case in a handful of states making it an option for child rape were overturned in 2008 (and no one was executed under any of those new laws).

thepersoniamnow - while I DO have a problem for death penalty for rape (as it happens in USA), I surely have no problem for death penalty for a mass murderer, guilty of at least 10.000 deaths.

I don't have such qualms about the death penalty. Slot him and be done with it.

It's forgetting that hate-filled monsters such as this really exist that allows them to pop up in history again and again.

History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme. Wealthy or poor, educated or simple, social or isolated, monsters come in all shapes and forms but they are, without exception, of the human persuasion.

Isn't it, though? After the Holocaust the world supposedly vowed "never again", yet there's Darfur, and Rwanda, and right in Europe, Bosnia. It's less than 20 years ago yet I doubt most ever give it a thought. Sad.

Ebisen...

For someone allegedly against the death penalty, you sure seem to want to kill this guy. You gotta take a stand either way. The death penalty is for the worst offenders and the most atrocious crimes in human society.

Although I'm against the death penalty (as the rest of Europe), secretly I hop they just find a tree and slowly hang him... It's amazing how his crimes have been conveniently forgotten in Europe...

Barbaric killing of about 10000 people happened only about 16 years ago and almost nobody in the "civilised" Europe seem to care about it any longer... On the other hand Europeans even now are VERY VERY concerned with some VERY important issues, such as making sure pet-fish are dead before being flushed down the toilet, and enforcing this in a law...
