Brian Roper, an associate professor of politics at the University of Otago, said he thinks the protest is having a growing political impact.

Indeed it is. Even the media is slowly becoming slightly more honest. Only slightly, but it's notable that they're now reporting that the protestors are "anti vaccine mandate protestors". This is a clear change from the disparaging and dishonest slur of "anti-vaxxer" they've been using until recently. And after Trudeau's crackdown, more and more people are learning that this is more about power than health.

Keep going, Kiwi protestors. You'll win in the end.

Except the fact that 90% of them are anti-vax as well. And others have different agendas. But at the end of the day, it's all pretty futile. Mandates and vaccination passports will be going pretty soon as the prime minister has already indicated, so why are they still there?

In any case at least two have tested for covid and others feel sick, but attribute that to "devices" or an EMF attack from the government. My guess is that with Omicron, they are all infected.

It certainly is interesting watching the media arm of the Labour party trying and failing to paint these freedom protesters as white supremacists and whatever else kind of boogeymen the left are currently obsessing over. Yes, there are some 'crazies' in the crowd for sure. Anyone who has taken time to go down and walk through the protest can quickly see it is mostly concerned, happy people (overwhelmingly left-wing themselves) tired and upset over government overreach in NZ. And now that the high court have ruled that mandates are illegal; and now that the measures of the Ardern government are so clearly failing - well, it is only a matter of time before many of the measures are abandoned for good. Sadly, the horrendous cost to NZ will endure for many years to come.
