Just a moment - a Secret Service agent posting pictures of himself at work on Facebook? I'm assuming he hadn't read his job description too carefully.

Too much OTT , let the guys have some fun they worked hard, I'm sure they arn't the first nor will they be the only S.S. agents or Millitary guys to romp with some hookers.

Going to Strip clubs is not illegal, hiring hookers is also not illegal in many places in this world.

Prudes don't want anyone to have any fun do they.

Ridiculous.

While it may not be illegal in some countries it is no doubt still against the rules for their particular occupation. Who knows what sorts of problems it could cause, blackmail, access to sensitive information the list goes on. These guys should have thought before acting and maybe they would still have a job. No one to blame but themselves.

An argument over payment? Could be anyone's fault.

... they had some drinks and danced? So what if the women were paid, in most U.S. states there are girly bars where guys pay girls for lapdances and similar services and it's completely legal.

This strikes me as the regular U.S. puritanical hypocrisy. Was posting photos on his facebook page unwise? Sure. Was it unprofessional to post pictures of himself drinking and dancing. Not at all. To pretend that secret service agents are robots who never drink or dance is ridiculous.

ExportExpert, that may be true in the abstract, but when SS officials are abroad on business, they may be considered to be on the job 24/7. Otherwise, they can pay to bonk to their heart's content during their off time.

BTW, read a classic Palin take on the situation and have posted it below for your enjoyment:

I hope his wife ... sends him to the doghouse -- as long as he's not eating the dog, along with his former boss. Boys will be boys, but they shouldn't be in positions of authority, and I think it's pretty embarrassing. But if you consider what's going on and the state of our government with, look who's running the show, boys not considering that there are ramifications to their actions. I've had enough of these men being dogs and not being responsible and not entrusting, being able to allow us to trust what these boys are doing in Washington.

Okay: so Obama ate dog as a child, that is true. Calling the president of the United States a "boy" is quite disrespectful. Her concluding sentence - well, that's anyone's guess. Perhaps she did have a conclusion in mind and it escaped her; perhaps she never did.

The issue isn't that they bought prostitutes, it's that they brought people without proper security clearances into an area (i.e., their hotel rooms) where classified information was kept. I'm sure no one thinks this is the first time SS or military personnel have visited prostitutes. Especially where it's legal. Which probably contributed to their getting caught- they've probably tried to stiff prostitutes on the bill many times, but this time she could complain to the police.

I still can't believe a prostitute, sorry "escort", didn't get the money upfront. Maybe she was hustling the agents after all.

I think Trenton hit the nail on the head in that Obama's security could have been compromised by such foolishness. Still, in the USA people are going to focus on the fact that these guys were consorting with prostitutes first. Well, at least the press will. But the problem is derlection of duty. If they want to spend money on hookers in Columbia it's legal. But I'm sure the agency rules say otherwise.

"I think Trenton hit the nail on the head in that Obama's security could have been compromised by such foolishness"

The primary job of the SS is to protect the President whomever he may be. But perhaps Mr. Obama is so disliked by his "protectors" that they don't put forth the effort they should be. Or perhaps they are just following his lead as Mr. Obama has had several interesting parties himself. But none of that makes their behavior correct and they should be punished for their indiscretions.

People in America don't care that they're prostitutes.

People in America are more outraged that their duty to the U.S. President could had been compromised, and that would had been a much bigger blow and embarrassment to America, that they can't even protect their President properly.

Reflects very poorly on the Commander in chief, if he can still be called that.

Tsk tsk... What did the kiddies call it back in the day? BDS... Bush Derangement Syndrome or something of the like. So, ODS?

Their action reflects very poorly on the Secret Service, on the military, and on all of us (Americans that is).

Reflects badly on all of America. Liberals, Conservatives, Independents. If anybody thinks they can avoid the shame just because of political affiliation, then one is oblivious that people are laughing behind the back.

And the U.S. President is the Commander-in-Chief if ya believe in the U.S. Constitution.

On the other side of the coin, one has to figure out how rare are these hard earned secret agents are identified & selected, then being trained and demonstrating a very high degree of loyalty to protect the president / high officials !

The issue can be resolved by providing some 'safe' female escorts ( Japanese version of 'comfort women' ) for prolonged missions abroad ? Admittedly, there is a concern over ethnical issue..albeit there is a tradeoff on the question ?

Cocaine and prostitutes . Whats to stop these agents from being derelict in their duties? Its not like our current system keeps federal employees loyal to the people they serve. The disgraced agents in this case will still be eligible to recieve 2.1 million dollars in pension payment.

"Even if you're fired for misconduct, unless you are found guilty of treason, you can get your retirement benefits that you've earned through your years of public service," he said. "They don't dock your pensions."

"Spekter has represented hundreds of federal employees during his 30-year career and has never seen a worker lose his pension. "
