Sigh. So much death and destruction due to fear of different races and nationalities

In a tweet, Owens responded by saying that if the media portrayed her as the inspiration for the attack, it had better hire lawyers.

The shooter took care of that, the media is simply reporting it.

Above article

He was angry about attacks in Europe that were perpetrated by Muslims.

New Zealand is not Europe.

Do not import fake problems

I find that first image in the 3 above to be incredibly disturbing.

Something's gotta be done about these eco-facists.

He also claimed to be inspired by a conservative and that he was a supporter of Trump ONLY as a symbol of "renewed white identity" but implies Trump is a hopeless leader and policy maker. Yeah... something's gotta be done about these things.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

said he hoped to survive the attack to better spread his views in the media.

and New Zealand has no death penalty so he will be able to live out his life with a bed, shower and 3 meals while 49 people are dead and hundreds of loved ones have had their lives changed forever.

I think you guys should take down that first image.

The killer wants people to see that, and its disrespectful to the deceased and their friends and family.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

This is just crazy! 236 estimated shots. Unbelievable! This makes me so mad. If anyone is deserving of a death penalty it’s this guy. But like so many of these extremists, they are selfish and only care about inflicting maximum damage on anyone, men, women and children. He wanted attention, he got it and his name should never be mentioned because it only serves his devious purpose.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The guy even tells you what his goal is. Media still can’t help but trip all over themselves spreading the messaging of a terrorist.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

It's a tricky one for the media. I agree that the photograph of the victim lying in the street would be distressing to relatives and friends and should probably not be shown, but I also think we need to know what motivated this guy, otherwise you get the spread of conspiracy theories and rumours. I won't watch the killer's footage, though, because I just don't need to do that in order to know that this was an extreme criminal act committed by a degraded human being in the grip of an extremist ideology.

Extreme White Christian Terrorists! Until they acknowledge that this exists, this problem will continue. The dude wasn't even from New Zeland. That right their makes him a terrorist!

A nonAboriginal Australian complaining about immigrants to 'his people's land'.

The flaw in his worldview is staggeringly obvious, except to his sort.

This guy is exhibit A for the death penalty.

For instance, the number 14 is seen on his rifle, a possible reference to the "14 Words," a white supremacist slogan attributed in part to Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf," according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Probably not a good idea to reference a hate group like the SPLC when making the case against hate.

That right their makes him a terrorist!

Where someone comes from doesn’t make them a terrorist- it’s what they do that makes them a terrorist.

@Wolfpack

Great point! You are so right. I am glad someone finally acknowledged it. However, when it comes to these mass killings in Western countries conservatives and nationalists in those countries refuse label the perpetrators as terrorists except if they are a POC. They just call them disturbed or lone wolves despite most mass killings being done by Whites who fit your definition.

When your same reasoning and definition has been mentioned, there response including posters on JT is they were not originally from this or that country, or they were influenced by people outside the country. Just like I said above.

Now this Aussie fits both definitions of terrorist, and those same JT posters and White conservatives abroad refuse to label another White Mass killer a terrorist.

Thank you for helping me make my point.

This guy is exhibit A for the death penalty.

This person will be locked up for life.

Over time he'll realise that his wicked deeds did not change a thing. And life will go on as it always does.

He'll probably wish for death, as he has all those empty hours, months and years reliving the actions that put him in a small cell.

Life imprisonment is the harshest punishment, in my opinion.

he singled out American conservative commentator Candace Owens as the person who had influenced him the most, while saying "the extreme actions she calls for are too much, even for my tastes."

Candace Owens "is having a big impact on politics in our country. She represents an ever expanding group of very smart 'thinkers,' and it is wonderful to watch and hear the dialogue going on...so good for our Country!"

--Donald J. Trump, May 2018

Rubbish. He has been labeled a terrorist by conservative media. He is a terrorist. Exactly the same things are claimed when terrorist attacks in the name of Islam happen.

Lets all be christians

He doesn't say he's a Christian.

he singled out American conservative commentator Candace Owens as the person who had influenced him the most, while saying "the extreme actions she calls for are too much, even for my tastes."

Candace Owens? Really? What extreme actions is he referring to?

Can anyone else see what is happening here?

Rubbish. He has been labeled a terrorist by conservative media. He is a terrorist. Exactly the same things are claimed when terrorist attacks in the name of Islam happen.

The conservative networks that I have checked all said, "authorities in New Zealand has called it a terrorist attack." That is not the same.

It's a shame that some people, like plasticmonkey, seem to have nothing better to do than to try to link U.S. President Donald Trump to this tragedy.

I just found this article with a simple search,

Alleged New Zealand Mosque Mass Shooter’s Manifesto Praises Donald Trump As ‘Symbol Of Renewed White Identity’

I think the New Zealand media, but not by conservatives abroad like in the US or Australia.

Trump makes no mention of terrorism or bigotry in tweet on New Zealand mosque shootings, as other world leaders decry an act of 'racist hatred'

https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-no-mention-terrorism-new-zealand-mosque-shooting-tweet-2019-3

I don't think their base would like that.

Trump called white supremacist radical right-wing terrorists "just a small group" -- yeah, right. No worries.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Life imprisonment is the harshest punishment, in my opinion.

Let the families decide if they are cool with their loved ones buried 6 feet deep while the killer can see another day. As long as he is alive, he can see his wack ideology continue to reach the public.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Probably not a good idea to reference a hate group like the SPLC when making the case against hate.

It's impossible, irrational, and unreasonable to take someone seriously when they claim the SPLC is a hate group

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Must be so hard for conservatives to have to clean up the messes their brown shirts leave behind, and then have to claim, it is not THEIR fault. Didn't Trumpy boy get all nasty yesterday and threaten to unleash crazy hordes of bikers and construction workers could could get really bad and do bad things? Why yes! So....if Chalres Manson who didn't actually kill anyone sees jail time, why shouldn't Trump?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I think the New Zealand media, but not by conservatives abroad like in the US or Australia.

Sorry, but that's just not the case, at least in Australia.

The Murdoch press Australian newspaper (conservative, natch) had five full broadsheet pages this morning explicitly condemning the attack as "right-wing terrorism" "evil ratbags" "fanatic" "disciples of hate" etcetera. Articles about his right-wing extremist motivation and radicalisation, with no equivocation. Just like the liberal press.

I'm on the left of politics, but I don't believe this attack stems from "conservatism" as we generally know it. It stems from extremism, which may involve a perversion of some conservative values, but which has horrified conservatives as much as it has the rest of us.

"A white supremacist that hates immigrants"...

Couldn't find a better description of a Trump supporter than that...

Well, it could be more accurate if we added "and loves Russia"...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

lincolnman, You're pretty shallow if you want to compare people who support the US president to white supremacists. Guess all the black, hispanic, asian, and arab Trump supporters are white supremacists too, right?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Not a white supremacist shooter but white supremacist terrorist, plain and simple.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

It's a shame that some people, like plasticmonkey, seem to have nothing better to do than to try to link U.S. President Donald Trump to this tragedy.

Depends what you mean by "link". No, Donald J. Trump was absolutely not a co-conspirator in this tragedy.

However, Donald J. Trump is arguably the most powerful person on the planet, and the things he says or tweets have an impact. As you know, he is a divisive figure. People tend to either love him or loathe him. For those who love him, his characterizations of immigrants as rapists, killers, drug dealers, and human traffickers must certainly have an impact. You can see it right here on JT.

No?

As for me supposedly having "nothing better to do", perhaps you'd like to reflect on that question yourself. We're all entitled to free expression, whatever form that takes, including links to random nobodies in basements spouting nonsensical conspiracy theories.

Yes, liberals will make sure of that 24/7 without commercials, the indoctrination police force.

If you look at the stats they don’t lie.

If you look at the stats they don’t lie.

The stats don’t characterize immigrants as rapists, killers, drug dealers, and human traffickers. Because that is not reality. That is a false projection made by people like you and Trump.

and Brenton Tarrant.

Liberals do the stereotypes in the same manner trying to pigeonhole Conservatives all the time and every single day. Dumb, racists, white supremists, ignorant religious idiots etc. but yes, it’s not reality.

That is a false projection made by people like you and Trump.

As well as the false projections and misbeliefs of people like liberals and yourself.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

So you admit to mischaracterizing immigrants.
