I am taking all the official information with a grain of salt. The authorities are investigating themselves and passing on that information to the press. And the MSM has proven itself to be rather unreliable as well.

Several U.S. news media Friday quoted a law enforcement source who they did not name as saying that Carey had had delusional thoughts that President Barack Obama was communicating with her and that she was under electronic surveillance.

I am taking two grains of salt with that one.

This is what I have always been talking about. You want to cause havoc and or try to kill people, you don't need a gun to do it, you can use for example like this woman her car and use it as a weapon, she could've put explosives in it or she could have used her car as a diversion for a secondary attack. As I said in my previous statements, we need to reopen mental asylums as long as we make excuses for this sick people and think that just prescribing over the counter medicine is the key, this will happen again, these people AND people like her once it has been established that they are in need of some serious mental assistance, they should be committed until further notice. You really want to tackle the problem, then address the crux of it and it's not firearms.

Maybe she wanted to speak to the baby-daddy. Of course, it would have been easier to find out her reasoning(rational or not) had she not been peppered with bullets first. Trigger-happy cops to the rescue.

I am on the fence on this one. Trigger happy, could be. After the fact you can see the danger was not very serious to justify her death. When you are there and you have moments to react and resolve this not knowing is she had 800 lbs. of explosives or not.

Poor child must have been horrified and now motherless.

If the car had been laden with explosives she most likely would have delivered them by ramming the White House barricades or police cars. Officers don't need to shoot a perpetrator in the head to get them out of a dangerous situation. Her sister also made the point that the vehicle could have been disabled while it was surrounded, and she even a retired NYPD transit police sergeant. It's important that someone not directly involved in the chase make these decisions, since they can keep a cooler head and be more objective.

A Tribute to Cowardice.

It so easy to say the cops didn't have to kill her, but none of us were there, so I'm not about to judge the cops decision to shoot her. After with what's been going on the last twelve years, you can't take any chances.

I find it interesting that we have a case of a Black woman killed by the cops, and yet no major protests from the likes of Sharpton, etc. Probably because the police were doing their job in protecting the White House and government buildings, they don't want the media to get too deeply into their stance and force protection issues.

But a cop in South Central, Harlem or the southside of Chicago or on a country road in Texas or Alabama shoots an unarmed speeding Black woman with a child in a car, the media and the race baiters would be all over this.

A shame that the woman had to die, luckily the child was not injured.

They didn't have "moments to react".

First they plain-clothes secret service guy over-reacted by panicking her by approaching her car with a gun, thus sparking this entire incident. They had a chance then to back down, give the woman some space and let things de-escalate.

... instead we see the video of them trying to storm her car when she's stopped, again waving guns and acting like morons. She drives away (and ENTIRELY reasonable action) and when they're in NO danger the cops start shooting.

... then we see in the video on the round-about where they could have boxed her car in and stopped her peacefully and just let things calm down... and instead they zip around looking like morons and she leaves.

... then some time later they shoot her in the head.

There was TONS of time and MANY, MANY opportunities for the cops to de-escalate the situation. Instead, every chance they got, they made the wrong call and escalated things further and further.

The cops bear full responsibility for terrifying this poor woman out of her wits and then killing her. In EVERY single situation the woman shows a clear "Flight" response, not an ounce of "fight"."

The child witnessed violence of the worst kind. Her mother being shot and killed. A child even this young remembers. She was injured - probably for life. The vehicle could have been stopped without shooting to kill, and whether it could have been carrying explosives is irrelevant.
