If Thai society had viewed drug-taking not as a crime but as a social problem by legalizing drugs and strictly controlling consumption by establishing a healthcare system equipped with a network of social and clinical care for addicts, these children would never have died. The dead children are the price ordinary families have had to pay to support a backward, unenlightened society based on exploitation of the many by the few. How many more man-made tragedies like this must the world suffer before human societies come to their senses.

So sorry about this. Saw the news report yesterday. Put me in tears. The whaling of the grieving relatives was unbearable.

I also cried, such a loss of beautiful young children for no reason. My heart is with the people of this village.

I pray God helps the families to get through this nightmare and stay strong.

Life is a precious gift. Children - they are the joy of their parents, siblings, friends, teachers, and loved ones. May each child be blessed with a happy present and a bright future.
